Obama's Widening Of The Global War On Terror To Libya, Yemen, Syria and Iran.

Obama is as addicted to perpetual war as was the Bush regime as we see on how he has ovwer the last four years expanded the Global War On Terror and defends his increasing of the powers of the presidency creating an Imperial presidency . Obama's promises mean little as he tends to take up policies or abandon policies based upon the opinion of the Republicans and the Conservative movement and the opinions of his biggest donors and Wall St. and the Super-rich.

So Canada like other Western Nations has bowed to US pressure to treat Iran as a threat to Middle East peace and to the rest of the world . Withdrawing and closing down the Canadian Embassy in Iran is just another step towards declaring war on Iran. But Canadians like American citizens have been fed anti-Iranian propaganda since the overthrow of the Shah of Iran in 1979. The USA and its western Allies for a decade funded and armed Saddam to maintain his war which he had stared with Iran which killed about 2 million people .

So Iran was not the aggressor in this war with Iraq but rather Saddam and the Western powers were the aggressors hoping to destroy the sovereign nation of Iran.
The USA, France, Britain, Germany all supplied armaments, fighter jets, chemical weapons and napalm and land mines to keep the war a going concern. These countries made shit loads of money selling arms to Saddam . The other more complicated part of the story is the whole Iran/Contra affair in which iran was also supplied with weapons by the USA and its proxies or satellite states .

Most politicians and Western leaders and the mainstream Media have used their influence to sell their anti-Iranian propaganda and therby convincing the public that Iran was the greater threat than was Iraq under Saddam. Later the US policy makers had to do what they felt they had to to reverse the propaganda to prove Saddam was by 1990 the bigger threat and this continued apace til Saddam was lynched after suffering through a humiliating Show-Trial Soviet Style in Iraq. When he was executed those who took part sounded like an angry mob.

But that's justice these days as approved by the USA.

Gaddafi when he was caught was tortured and butchered and his body dragged along a road attached to a jeep-that's Justice? That's a reflection of Western Civilization superiority because at the end of the day the USA and NATO were just as responsible for this barbaric act as were those individuals who carried it out. As far as we know when Osama Bin Laden was attacked in his home in Pakistan there was little effort made to take him alive. Real justice would have been better served if Saddam, Gaddafi, and Osama Bin Laden had been taken prisoner and then tried for their crimes.
So we had the spectacle of Obama, Clinton and Biden and others gleefully announcing the deaths of Gaddafi and Bin Laden as if this sort of rough justice was part of being a civilized nation.

Manufacturing Consent for war against Syria and Iran

Canada closes Iran embassy, says Tehran 'most significant global threat"

Published on Sep 7, 2012 by RussiaToday

Canada has ordered all Iranian diplomats out of the country and is closing its embassy in Tehran. Ottawa said it was acting because of the Islamic state's support for the Syrian government, its threats against Israel and defiance of UN resolutions. For more on this story RT talks to Michel Chossudovsky, the director of the Center for Research on Globalization based in Montreal.

'US plots to isolate Iran fail as 120 nations attend NAM summit'

Published on Aug 30, 2012 by RussiaToday

The Syrian delegation has walked out on a session of the Non-Aligned movement in Tehran after Egyptian leader Mohammed Morsi called the Syrian regime "oppressive".

In his speech, Morsi added that Assad's government had lost its legitimacy, and urged attending nations to support the rebels.

Anti-war activist Sara Flounders says Morsi is trying to do America's bidding, who didn't want to see the meeting go ahead.

US and West using similar propaganda campaign to sell war with Syria and Iran as they did leading up to the invasion of iraq in a war of aggression . A war of aggression is a war crime under international Law. Saddam by 2003 was no longer a threat to anyone.
After a decades long war with Iran and the first Gulf War and a decade of sanctions Iraq had become an impoverished weakened ntion .

Though the Saddam regime had been weakened and isolated the American propaganda machine worked overtime demonizing Saddam to convince Americans and the rest of the world that Saddam was an imminent threat to its neighbors and to US interests in the region.
So reality in this sense plays no real role in making decisions about going to war in this case whether the USA and her allies are going to attack, bomb and possibly invade Iraq, Syria, Libya, Iran or some other nation.

Bogus rumour erroneously stated that by Feb. 10th Iran had already sent 15,000 elite troops to Syria. The rumour supposedly originated in Communist China but may have been an attempt to prove Iran was a danger to her neighbors.

The regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria is expecting up to 15,000 Iranian troops to help maintain order in the country's provinces, a Chinese newspaper reports. Iran has yet to confirm or deny the news.

Obama's dilemma to attack Iran or to wait and give support to Israel for its attack on Iran.
The third option which is ignored is not bombing or invading Iran. Iran is not a threat to the USA or its neighbors unless they threaten to attack Iran. Iran has a right to protect its sovereignty against any form military attack or foreign interference inside its borders.

Of course as we know the USA even under the Obama administration does not respect the sovereignty of other nations. The USA as they have in the past is quite capable of threatening and bullying other nations , NATO and the United nations to achieve its goals that is to destablize the Middle East to undermine any opposition to the USA or Israel's agendas.

Two New Wars for Us By Philip Giraldi at The American Conservative via "Information Clearing House" Sept. 9,2012

- - Normally Washington bureaucracies shut down in August, but this year the intelligence community was working flat out to develop information on two crises in the Middle East. One official describes a deep sense of foreboding, recalling NSC Counter Terrorism Security Group chairman Richard Clarke’s description of walking around the West Wing in August 2001 with his “hair on fire.”

Syria is on the frontburner as a shooting war in which the U.S. is already clandestinely involved. The attempt to come up with a consensus National Intelligence Estimate on the crisis has been put on hold, both because the situation is too volatile and because new intelligence paints an increasingly dark picture of the insurgency. A number of atrocities against civilians previously attributed to the Assad government are now known to be the work of the rebels, who are becoming less reticent about their plans to eliminate all regime supporters, which would include most Alawites as well as many in the Christian community. U.S. intelligence has also come to the conclusion that rebel militias are heavily infiltrated and frequently commanded by jihadis linked to al-Qaeda. Attempts by CIA officers to discuss the issue with the rebels’ political representatives in Lebanon and Turkey have been blown off or deferred, suggesting that the movement’s leadership might be fully complicit. There is also increasing concern about a domino effect spreading unrest to Lebanon. Even the Turks are backing away from more direct involvement, worried that major refugee and Kurdish-based terrorism problems are developing.

The Iran crisis is more troublesome because the possible consequences are graver. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta traveled to Israel at the end of July to get a commitment from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to attack Iran before America’s elections. A commitment was not forthcoming, with Netanyahu demanding as quid pro quo that Washington publicly break off negotiations with Iran. Intelligence analysts in Washington are split 50-50 over whether Netanyahu is bluffing. Some analysts are convinced that an attack will come in October when the weather is still good in the region and at a point when President Obama will have no choice politically but to support the Israelis. There has been some intelligence suggesting that Israel has already made the decision, fearing that Obama will ratchet down his tolerance for a military option whether he wins or loses. Reports suggest that Israeli leaders privately view Mitt Romney as useful but cautious, even timid, and do not trust his overblown and politically motivated assurances of support if war were to break out.
