Congress Loves The Rich Meanwhile Racist Sheriff Arpaio And Obama Support Wars On Pot and On Illegal-Aliens While Obama Refuses To Defend GLBT Community

Update #OWS #occupy
Bernie Sanders All Congress Cares about are the rich and powerful he says this about both Democrats and Republicans.
Corruption it appears is systemic and non-partisan
Obama is non-partisan and forgets sometimes one has to take sides even in a culture war.
Should Lyndon Johnson not have taken on the civil rights issue knowing it might have hurt him in an election.

Obama Should Shut Down Rogue Sheriff Joe Arpaio (Little Hitler) And His Private Army Part 1.

Thursday, October 22, 2009 Sheriff Joe Arpaio & Bull Connor & KKK Neo-Nazis Minutemen & Patriots (and Zach De La Rocha Speaks Out) Part 2.

When President Obama and the vigilante Sheriff Joe Arpaio agree on drugs and immigration Obama should re-think his position on these issues. Obama has been tougher on illegal immigration and the War on Drugs than President George W. Bush.

Obama's Illegal-immigrant Crackdown: Implications for Hispanics">By Patrik Jonsson, Staff writer, The Christian Science Monitor Oct. 30, 2011, Collinsville, Ala.

These days, many Americans are hardening their attitudes toward illegal immigration – driven in part by economic worries and fear of Mexico's narco-wars drifting north.

Much has been made of how this is playing out on the state level, with Arizona and Alabama among the states passing tough immigration laws.

But a crackdown, at least a partial one, has been happening at the federal level, too. A series of high-profile sweeps known as Operation Cross Check have netted thousands of what the Obama administration refers to as criminal aliens. And felony prosecutions for immigration crimes increased by 42 percent during President Obama's first two years in office, a factor in the record 400,000 deportations this fiscal year, according to data from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse, an immigration tracking agency at Syracuse University in Syracuse, N.Y
Another good reason to end The War On Drugs would be to Rein in Sherriff Arpaio and others of his ilk in law enforcement. One wonders if Obama believes all the urban myths and hysteria about pot. Does he believe for instance those who use Marijuana are more dangerous than those who use our socially accepted drugs alcohol, sleeping medication, pain medication , medication to boost energy or medication to maintain an erection and so on.

If bigoted Sheriff Joe Arpaio is the poster boy for the dual wars : "The War on Drugs and "The War on Immigrants" So is he now one of Obama's heroes. It appears so they both believe pot smoking and illegal immigration are major issues. They also believe that these issues are interconnected. So if Mexicans and other latinos enter America it is most likely to set up drug cartels forcing average US citizens white, brown or black to purchase large quantities of pot.

If Obama believes that these laws prohibiting the cultivation, sale and use of evil pot are in his view necessary and are enforced fairly and justly against US citizens regardless of their skin color , ethnicity and their economic status or what neighborhood they live in than we can conclude that Obama is as ignorant as Sheriff Arpaio and most Know Nothing conservatives about Marijuana or about undocumented immigrants. Studies show that so called illegal-immigrants break fewer laws than average Americans do. Of course Obama may or may not agree with the likes of Sheriff Arpaio or Michael Savage or the FOX Channel when it comes to the use and dangers of smoking pot or the danger posed by the six million or more undocumented immigrants.

What he has suggested is that America's drug problems are caused by the people South of the Border that is the Mexican, Columbian and other Latino people and their corrupt governments .

Arpaio blames America's drug problem mainly on illegal aliens from Mexica and other Hispanic/latino countries.
He believes all Latinos are corrupt and prone to heavy drug abuse and lazy and stupid.
So should we associate Sheriff Arpaio with Obama's draconian unrealistic opportunistic Wars on Drugs and Illegal-Aliens???
So tell me on what issues is Obama more liberal than the GOP or even Sheriff Joe.
During the Obama administration the War On Drugs has escalated and Obama has even criticized the use of Marijuana for medical use. People in Canada have been using marijuana to help with radiation therapy and glaucoma for at least the last 30 years.

Note in this news story Arpaio says the alleged criminals were Mexicans or illegal-aliens though he has no forensic evidence prove and he does not mention the vehicle carrying a ton of Marijuana had Canadian license plates of the province of Alberta.
Maybe they were Canadians out to undermine America's Christian society

Yeah PS Sheriff Arpaio is a 'Birther' if not the defacto head of the 'Birthers' and has used his office to investigate whether or not Obama was born in America. (Arpaio reminds one of the Sheriffs in 'Touch of Evil' or 'Cool Hand Luke'
)

Arpaio blames ‘illegal aliens’ after seizing ton of pot — but makes no arrests By David Edwards at Raw Story.com,April 18, 2012
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio on Tuesday cited “illegal aliens” after seizing a ton of marijuana even though no arrests were made.

“Nearly a ton of marijuana with a street value of over $1 million was seized late last night by Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies near Highway 238 in Mobile, Arizona, about 32 miles from downtown,” according to a press advisory (PDF) from Arpaio’s office.

Eighty bundles of marijuana weighing 2094.8 pounds were found in GMC pickup truck, but the “suspects fled on foot after deputies suspect they were tipped off by drug spotters.”

The statement did not provide any descriptions of the suspects but noted that “Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies have now arrested more than 20 illegal aliens and seized nearly two tons of marijuana” in the last month.

“Drug trafficking is increasing involving illegal aliens and I am preparing for another drug and illegal alien crime suppression operation,” Arpaio said.

Photos provided by Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office showed that the truck’s license plate was from Alberta, Canada.

A 2008 Justice Department probe found that the Arpaio’s office “promoted a culture of bias” against Latinos.

The Justice Department said last week that it would sue Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office over civil rights abuses after efforts to settle the case had failed.

And another promise Obama failed to deliver. Obama claimed he was on the side of Gays and Lesbians (GLBT community).
Obama as campaigner was sympathetic to protecting the rights of Gays and lesbians and suggested he would pass such legislation.
The legislation would enforce non-discrimination laws regarding employment, housing etc.
Knowing this would take time (so far four years) for him to pass such legislation he would therefore if necessary use a "signing statement" in the interim to make it into law .

It seems Obama's support is rather muted if not non-existent. Is it because he sees the issue as toxic for his campaign . So if he treats it as toxic then it shows his interests is feigned .

Obama Won’t Sign LGBT Discrimination Ban Anytime Soon by Steve Williams at Care2.com ,April 12, 2012

The President will not in the near future sign an executive order banning federal contractors from discriminating against LGBT employees, the White House said on Wednesday.

Reports the New York Times:

“While it is not our usual practice to discuss executive orders that may or may not be under consideration, we do not expect that an executive order on L.G.B.T. nondiscrimination for federal contractors will be issued at this time,” said an administration official who would speak about the controversy only if provided anonymity. “We support legislation that has been introduced and we will continue to work with Congressional sponsors to build support for it.”
[...]

An administration spokesman, Shin Inouye, said in an e-mail, “The president is dedicated to securing equal rights for LGBT Americans and that is why he has long supported an inclusive Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), which would prohibit employers across the country from discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.”

This would appear a severe blow to LGBT rights groups who were hoping that the administration would sign an executive order, which by all accounts has been signed off on by the Department of Justice, that would prevent federal contractors from discriminating on grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity.

Said the Human Rights Campaign in a statement:

“We are extremely disappointed with this decision and will continue to advocate for an executive order from the president. The unfortunate truth is that hard-working Americans can be fired simply for being gay or transgender.”

Other LGBT groups have gone so far as to potentially label this decision homophobic.

Reports Politico:

“I don’t know if the White House is politically homophobic, actually homophobic, or just afraid of doing anything that might risk some attention,” Heather Cronk, the managing director of GetEQUAL.

“He’s not going to have hoards of gay folks running over and voting for Romney,” Cronk said, admitting that Obama stands little chance of losing votes to Republicans over the issue. ”The problem is that the White House is making a calculation

There is precedent for such an executive order given that in 1965 President Johnson established an executive order prohibiting federal contractors from discriminating against employees based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

...That the Obama administration has suggested that it will defer signing the order and instead conduct a study into whether LGBT protections is necessary is, for that reason and for the fact that President Obama has continually said he supports federal legislation banning anti-LGBT discrimination, curious.

...Indeed, the move has not sat well with LGBT groups with a rapidly growing “We Can’t Wait!” campaign now finding its voice. Said Jonathan Lewis in a press release for the campaign:

“This isn’t a broken promise President Obama can blame on Congress. He has not been able to provide a single valid reason for why he is now refusing to sign the executive order protecting LGBT workers. It has become increasingly clear that this decision is based on cowardice rather than principled leadership.”

“Over the past several years the LGBT advocacy groups have jumped through hoops for this administration, conducting extensive research and polling — more than has been done for any similar executive order — and now the only impediment is President Obama.”

“This is nothing short of craven election-year politics, a game Obama told us he would not play.”

Republican state Rep. Maureen Walsh stands up for marriage equality with a tearjerking speech

Cenk, Ana Kasparian and Michael Shure discuss the impact of GOP Rep. Maureen Walsh’s heartfelt speech to the Washington House of Representatives endorsing marriage equality. Walsh recalled the love she felt for her late husband and added, “How could I deny anyone the right to have that incredible bond with another individual in life?”

“This is where the tide turns,” Shure says. “When you start to see Republicans say it’s OK to approve something like gay marriage — equality.”
