New York Times & MSM Echo Chamber For War With Iran Government Propaganda & Obama Ends Investigations Into Bush Regimes Lies, Propaganda and Crimes

To begin with a laugh check out excerpt from a funny and scathing take on the Romneys at The Daily Irritant: Ann Romney's Tales of Woe Episode 1: The Lean Years. August 31, 2012

" When Mitt and I were first married, we lived in a tiny basement apartment, eating tuna and pasta while Mitt attended Harvard. Our only source of income was the huge stock portfolio that Mitt's father had given him that we were able to sell of a little at a time. Why, at one point, things looked so bleak that we thought one of us might have to go out and get a job! A job, can you imagine? "

And now a reminder from Chris Hedges warning about how dangerous the Ultra -Right neocons and the Religious Right are once fused together as they now are in the Republican Party.

Chris Hedges : America's Road to Fascism

New York Times and Mainstream Media once again as they did with Iraq they are continuing to demonize Iran and to exaggerate the danger it poses to Israel, the Middle East and American and European political and strategic interests. Like their chicken hawk friends in government they too can't wait to begin another war to teach these non-Western nations who's the boss.

Some may in fact buy into the US and Israeli propaganda of hysteria. Most just support the status quo and Big Businesses since they are part of the system and work for mostly uberconservative corporations and don't give a damn about the average citizens. We saw this attitude repeating again and again in their reporting bias concerning the #OWS/Occupy Movement either ignoring the movement or trashing any one belonging to or supporting the movement .

Just imagine they think that these little insignificant people that is citizens and voters dare to question the status quo and Wall Street greed and its elaborate Ponzi schemes and Casino Capitalism and when things go awry they have their hands out to the governments that they claim to despise begging like Oliver Twist for more not cruel of course but rather trillions in cash..

Burying the Most Important News on Iran's Nuclear Program?
Posted on 08/31/2012 by Peter Hart at FAIR : Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting

The release of a new International Atomic Energy Agency report on Iran was greeted as an ominous development by some major outlets. But are they playing down what could be the most important news in the report?

The IAEA's latest made it to the New York Times (8/30/12) under the headline, "Inspectors Confirm New Work by Iran at Secure Nuclear Site." Reporters David Sanger and William Broad write:

Iran has installed three-quarters of the nuclear centrifuges it needs to complete a site deep underground for the production of nuclear fuel, international inspectors reported Thursday, a finding that led the White House to warn that "the window that is open now to resolve this diplomatically will not remain open indefinitely."

The findings indeed sound dramatic: Twice as many centrifuges as before, and what some think is a suspicious clean up job at the Parchin site, where some say Iran is conducting weapons research (an argument that is highly debatable).

The next day the Times was ramping up the talk of war, devoting a front-page piece to the debate inside Israel about how and when they might attack, presumably based on the same IAEA report. "Report on Iran Nuclear Work Puts Israel in a Box," reads the headline, and it stresses the Israeli government's interpretation in the lead:
For Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the International Atomic Energy Agency on Thursday offered findings validating his longstanding position that while harsh economic sanctions and diplomatic isolation may have hurt Iran, they have failed to slow Tehran's nuclear program. If anything, the program is speeding up.

The piece goes on to claim that

the agency's report has also put Israel in a corner, documenting that Iran is close to crossing what Israel has long said is its red line: the capability to produce nuclear weapons in a location invulnerable to Israeli attack.

The piece leans on anonymous sources in Israel and the United States, and frames the whole matter as a question of when Israel will decide to act:

The report comes at a critical moment in Israel’s long campaign to build Western support for stopping Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.

Of course, there is the obvious possibility that Iran is developing no such thing, but media too often assume the Iran is building a weapon–despite the fact that there is zero evidence to substantiate that claim.

But what should be the most important news in the IAEA report is being buried. Deep in the August 30 Times piece, readers learn this:

Some of the 20 percent fuel is in a form that is extremely difficult to use in a bomb, and most of the stockpile is composed of a fuel enriched at a lower level that would take considerably longer to process for weapons use.

Meanwhile Eric Holder refuses to investigate further the abuse of POWS during and after the Bush administration. Well of course he has since if he went further he might be forced to re-examine President Obama's record when it comes POW abuse and the use of indefinite detention, widespread wire taping and spying and the use of various agencies to create or manufacture domestic terrorists plots to prove he's doing a good job, to keep Americans afraid and to justify the massive amounts of money being spent on security measures in the USA and the ever expanding of the so-called war on terror.

So as we see the rich and powerful and the politicians and bureaucrats and Pentagon, FBI, DHS, CIA and the Military Industrial and Intelligence complex do whatever it takes to defend their own. It was bad enough seeing this machinery of lies and deceit and denial and cover ups at work during the Bush administration but now Obama is no better when it comes to a large number of issues either agreeing with the Neocons, the fascistic neo-liberals and the fanatical American patriots who only feel disdain towards all other nations since they were not chosen by God or by the laws of nature to be superiour to all others that is to be top dog.

Justice Department Closes the Book on CIA Torture and Deaths in Custody by Alex Kanes at, August 31, 2012

The Justice Department has closed a probe on Bush-era torture and killings by CIA agents, and has decided against prosecuting anyone.

Attorney General Eric Holder said in a statement that the Justice Department “declined prosecution because the admissible evidence would not be sufficient to obtain and sustain a conviction beyond a reasonable doubt.”

The probe was opened in 2009, and looked at the cases of about 100 prisoners. The last two cases looked at are now officially closed, with no charges coming.
