The anti-Muslim go even further claiming that this Taqiyya (lying) is for Muslims a religious duty. Since their duty is to defend Islam and to by whatever means necessary to spread Islam throughout the world til it finally becomes the dominant if not the only religion permitted. But didn't Bush and Cheney also lie about spying on American citizens and using torture on a large number of captured Terrorists and insurgents. Falsehoods told to prevent the denigration of Islam, to protect oneself, or to promote the cause of Islam are sanctioned in the Qur'an and Sunna, including lying under oath in testimony before a court, deceiving by making distorted statements to the media such as the claim that Islam is a “religion of peace”. A Muslim is even permitted to deny or denounce his faith if, in so doing, he protects or furthers the interests of Islam, so long as he remains faithful to Islam in his heart.

So when a Muslim American says that the Muslim community in America has no intentions of instituting Sharia how can we be expected to believe them if they are under orders to practice deceit .Whatever any Muslim says could be a lie . If a Muslim says that the use of Taqiyya can only be used in a very narrow range circumstances then we can assume they are lying. So when are Muslims telling the truth??? Perfect bit of circular reasoning .
Note that the anti-Muslims such as Frankly Graham assume or promulgate the erroneous view that there is only one form of Islam as a monolithic homogeneous ideology when in fact there are many forms of Islam and different interpretations of the Qur'an and Sharia. Christianity it seems it needs to be pointed out to Christian evangelicals like Frankly Graham and Gary Bauer that there are many different forms of Christianity Catholics and Protestants and a hundred different sects. There are those Christians who are very liberal or progressive in their views who preach tolerance and understanding and acceptance of other religious points of view even non-Christian religions and those who have no religion whatsoever. But there are other Christians including the radical Evangelical Fundamentalists and others who have a conservative literal view of Christianity who argue the Bible is the inerrant literal Word of God who believe all other Christians are not "Real Christians". Politically like the Taliban and other Islamic fundamentalist these Christians believe that America must become wholly a Christian nation where all those in positions of authority are "True Believing Christians" and that non-Christians would be relegated to a second class citizenship. The Taliban also believes in a conservative traditional literal view of the Qur'an and Sharia and that all laws must be in accordance with God's Law of Sharia.

Part of the grandiose anti-Muslim conspiracy theory espoused by Islamophobes today includes the idea that Muslims are, in the words of Robert Spencer, involved in “large scale deception campaigns today.” Spencer dedicates chapter 6 of his book The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades) to convince his readers that Islamic law allows for and even encourages lying “if it fosters the growth of Islam.” In this manner, moderate Muslim-Americans are cast away as “stealth jihadists”, who are simply using deception to further their belligerent faith. Any Muslim who says otherwise is accused of lying. When moderate Muslims express their peaceful views, these are dismissed as “deception campaigns.” On the other hand, when extremist and fundamentalist Muslims express their belligerent views, these are accepted as being “real Islam.”

There are dozens of other Prophetic traditions that say the same.
However, Spencer argues in his book that while lying is generally prohibited, “Islam allows for lying…in certain circumstances.” [4] Having established this, Spencer boldly entitles the chapter “Islamic Law: Lie, Steal, and Kill,” arguing that Islam is the one religion on earth that advocates lying. On the same page, Robert Spencer opposes “the idea that Islam shares the general moral outlook of Judaism and Christianity.” In particular, “Islam doesn’t have a moral code analogous to the Ten Commandments.” By this, he means to say that the religion of Islam does not hold fast to the 9th Commandment, which prohibits lying: “Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.”
Before we proceed, it should be very clear that it is Robert Spencer himself who opens up the chapter by comparing the Judeo-Christian belief system to Islam. Therefore, when we question this comparison, let our opponents not cry “tu quoque, tu qouque!” as they always do whenever we point out their bold-faced hypocrisy and double standards. What Spencer is saying is quite clear: unlike other religions, Judaism and his own Christianity in particular, Islam advocates lying in certain circumstances.
The revelation, that Islam allows for lying in certain circumstances, is supposed to shock the mind. Ohmigosh, how could a religion sanction lying!? But if we move past sanctimonious outrage, we realize that any moral code, be it based in religious faith or atheistic humanism, should allow for lying in certain circumstances. That’s the most obvious thing in the world. If, for example, the Nazis knock on your door and ask you “are you hiding any Jews in your attic?”, would Robert Spencer demand you to be truthful and say “yes”? In that circumstance, lying should not only be allowed, but encouraged or even obligated. A moral code that did not allow for a lie in this circumstance would be highly flawed. This is simply common sense. No moral code, be it religious or otherwise, ought to command honesty without exception. It’s common sense that there should be some exceptions to truth-telling.
In Islam, the Prophet Muhammad allowed for three (and only three) exceptions to the rule of truth-telling:
Lying is not permitted except in three cases: (1) a man’s speaking to his wife to make her happy; (2) lying at times of war; (3) and lying in order to reconcile between people.
...The idea that it would be necessary to lie during war is so self-explanatory that I feel a bit silly needing to draw this out. But because Robert Spencer makes a great fuss about this, let me go over the top with this. The idea that “war is deceit/deception” has been accepted since time immemorial. As our very own Inconnu writes:
In fact, “War is deceit” is one of the oldest military principles in history. It is found in none other than The Art of War by Sun Tzu, a Chinese strategist from the Sixth Century B.C. This book is the oldest military treatise in the world. In Part I, principle No. 18 says:
All warfare is based on deception.
This book forms the foundation of modern military thinking, and is listed in the United States Marine Corps Professional Reading Program. The book is required reading for CIA officers, and recommended reading for all U.S. military intelligence personnel. The book is required to be stocked in every major military library. Is Robert Spencer being unpatriotic and un-American by criticizing the foundation principle of our U.S. military, namely that “all warfare is based on deception”? But Spencer’s double standard is quite clear: it’s OK when Evangelical Christians in the U.S. military believe such a thing, but completely unacceptable if Muslims do.

The irony is not lost on the perceptive reader that Robert Spencer and the Islamophobes use deceptive arguments to claim that Muslims are engaging in “large-scale deception campaigns today.” [32] It is paranoid alarmism of the worst order, designed to spread anti-Muslim sentiment. Spencer’s vitriol is similar to the anti-Muslim polemic used by the Church during the Crusades, which does not come as a surprise, considering that his book opens up with the Crusader slogan “Deus Vult!” (God wills it!) and the very last word in it is “Crusade.” What is contained between “Deus Vult!” and “Crusade” is the propaganda needed to wage this Crusade that God so willed.
Taqiyya simply means that a Muslim can renounce his faith in order to save his life from torture or death. The doctrine of taqiyya is found in Judaism, which commands its followers to save their own lives even by lying. Many Christian thinkers also believe this is something permissible. As for kitman, this means “mental reservation” (i.e. telling half the truth in order to mislead someone), and is a doctrine accepted by the Church. Kitman is also accepted in Judaism.
If Muslims are to be vilified for believing in lying and using deceit in war, then Jews are to be condemned even more for believing that lying is permissible to kill idolaters for their idolatry. If Muslims are to be vilified for allowing lying to save life, then Christians are to be vilified more for the belief that lying is permitted to further the interests of the Church. Naturally, our opponents will balk and cry “tu quoque, tu quoque!” They wish Islam to be judged by a standard that their own religious belief cannot withstand. These Islamophobes engage in “mental reservation” when they mention half-truths about Islam. One must wonder if Robert Spencer believes it is permissible to lie in order to further the interests of the Catholic church? Considering that he is a fervent anti-Muslim Catholic apologist, it would not be hard to believe.
Anyway there are according to the FBI and homeland Security Home Grown American terrorists both Muslim and non-Muslims. Yet the folks at Fox News and other media outlets assume that the only ones committing violent anti-government acts in America who can be called "terrorists" that is as "International terrorists" or as "Domestic Terrorists" are Muslims or Muslim Americans.
So there is according to the anti-Muslims and the Uberconservative right wing in America no such creature as a Non-Muslim American terrorist. All terrorists are Muslims. It is all so simple except that it doesn't match up with reality.
Whether Fox News and the Islamophobes believe that the only real terrorists are Muslims it appears the FBI and Homeland security disagree. America has had Non-Muslim Domestic Terrorists going back at least to the era just after the Civil War with the creation of the Ku Klux Klan followed over the next century or so to the current era by various other Domestic Terrorist organizations and individuals who were or are anti-government and who commit violent acts taking the law into their own hands as in vigilantism.
If we follow the Islamophobes logic then Lee Harvey Oswald who assassinated President Kennedy or the murderers of Martin Luther King Jr. or of Robert Kennedy would not be considered Domestic terrorists and nor would the Ku Klux Klan who's whole purpose has been to terrorize Black Americans and anyone who defends the rights of black Americans..
This would also mean that Bill Ayers of the Weathermen Terrorists organization could not have been real Domestic Terrorists because he was not a Muslim.This would also have to be applied to people like Tim McVeigh. But as we know Fox News and their minions tend to gloss over all acts of Domestic Terrorism as the acts of the mentally ill or that they were forced into such actions because of the evil US Federal Government.
So here is another story about homegrown right wing Domestic Terrorists in the USA. In this case two men a father and son team in the state of Oregon tried to bomb and rob a bank. They are admittedly anti-government and especially anti-Obama . Things did not go according to plan but the bomb went off killing two police officers. What is of note and of interest for our purposes is how little media attention such an act of terrorism gets. It seems the mainstream media is for the most part mainly interested in Domestic Terrorism committed by Muslim Americans.
So why should CNN or Fox News bother with another ho-hum story about a bank robbery gone wrong.

According to prosecutors, at least one of the two men – who have turned on each other as the trial has unfolded – began planning the bombing shortly after the election of Barack Obama, fearing the new president would restrict their gun rights upon taking office.
On the opening day of the trial last week, Marion County deputy district attorney Katie Suver told the jury that the election served as a “catalyst” for the bombing.

NBC's Brian Williams asked Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin about their attacks on Sen. Barack Obama and his association with Bill Ayers, and if they would define abortion clinic bombers as domestic terrorists.
Palin said she wouldn't condone such actions and ultimately worked her way to saying that "terrorist" would be defined as anyone who seeks to destroy innocent Americans, meaning that she seems to agree that abortion clinic bombers are terrorists. McCain felt the need to to clean up the answer later in the interview saying that anyone who breaks the law, including bombing an abortion clinic, should be punished to the full extent of the law.

Well, just in case Mrs. Palin forgot, there was a running spate of domestic terrorism in the United States in the 1990s created by the far-right "Patriot" movement, much of it revolving around abortion and hatred of the federal government.
The signature event, of course, was the bombing of the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City in 1995. But that was hardly the end of it. Indeed, by the end of 1999, we were able to document over 40 such cases -- many of which were nipped in the bud before they reached fruition. Some were not.
It seems Palin needs a refresher course. The Jed Report video above mentions two abortion-clinic shooters, Paul Hill and Michael Griffin, who were among the murderous terrorists who inspired the federal law that protects abortion providers -- a law John McCain twice voted against.

If the violent individual is white or has an American sounding name and is not a Muslim then ipso facto according to Fox News and other Media outlets he is surely not a Domestic Terrorist whatever else he might be. But under US law Domestic Terrorists is defined someone who resorts to violence who is a citizen of America and their religious beliefs are seen as incidental or as a motivating factor but they could be Christian, Jewish, Muslim, atheist etc..
If the pilot's name had been Abu Muhammad then of course it is according to Fox news and Mainstream Media a terrorist attack. Fox News' anchors seemed eager to assure viewers today that the plane-crash attack on IRS offices in Austin this morning was not an act of domestic terrorism.
...Since when, after all, is attempting to blow up a federal office as a protest against federal policies NOT an act of domestic terrorism?
...There are different kinds terrorism, to be certain. There's international terrorism. Then there's domestic terrorism, sometimes conducted by a larger conspiracy, and sometimes conducted by small cells like McVeigh and Terry Nichols, and lone wolves like Eric Rudolph, Scott Roeder and James Von Brunn.
All of these acts fit the FBI's twin definition of terrorism:
Domestic terrorism refers to activities that involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any state; appear to be intended to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; to influence the policy of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States. [18 U.S.C. § 2331(5)]
International terrorism involves violent acts or acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or any state, or that would be a criminal violation if committed within the jurisdiction of the United States or any state. These acts appear to be intended to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination or kidnapping and occur primarily outside the territorial jurisdiction of the United States or transcend national boundaries in terms of the means by which they are accomplished, the persons they appear intended to intimidate or coerce, or the locale in which their perpetrators operate or seek asylum.
Joseph Andrew Stack's act this morning fits that definition too. Brian Stelter at the NYT notes that all the networks are treading around the word gingerly. Fox, meanwhile, is running hard and fast with the claim that it wasn't terrorism at all.
