Anyway it appears the culture wars continue & it is not just a war of ideas & words but is one of violence as an abortion doctor is murdered or someone who is Gay or Lesbian is beaten or murdered or someone who is Hispanic or looks Arab or Muslim is beaten or murdered & all Non-European Immigrants are treated as second class citizens and are blamed for all of America's troubles. Meanwhile Media personalities such as Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Lou Dobbs, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity , Ann Coulter & Laura Ingraham & Michael Savage & Fox News & CNN stoke the fires of hatred & fear & ignorance to improve their ratings & the sales of their books & to ensure lucrative lecture tours - for money & power & fame they will do whatever it takes. It is doubtful that they believe in half of what they say. But in America that's what's called free speech.
So these Holier Than Thou Self-Righteous Fanatics & Charlatans foam at the mouth with their Hate Speech while condoning acts of violence against anyone they dislike & whom they have demonized. Meanwhile the more rational Americans are afraid to speak out because they might offend these Fear & Hate Mongers who shout and screech at the American public on a daily basis.

O'Reilly says Tiller was a mass murderer who killed over 60,000 babies but claims his own incendiary rhetoric & demonizing of Dr. Tiller by comparing Tiller to Al Qaeda or to the NAZIS & saying that Tiller must be stopped had no effect on Tiller's murderer .
Words as Frank Schaeffer says have consequences. Frank Schaeffer believes that his own actions & words in the past have led to this type of violence & he apologizes for being too rash & over zealous in the 1970s & 1980s.

The lives of innocent babies scheduled to be murdered by George Tiller are spared by the action of American hero Scott Roeder.

And then there's anti-abortionists The Lambs of Christ
Father Norman U. Weslin, O.S., a missionary priest to the unborn child, formed The Lambs of Christ in August of l988 as a team of "Non-violent Victim Souls" to join in the effort to stop Satan from killing Jesus Christ's babies while they are still helpless in their mothers' wombs.

But the Lambs of Christ, in the words of one pro-choice leader, are "wolves in sheep's clothing." Although not so widely known as Operation Rescue, the Lambs may well be the most zealous and aggressive of the pro-life organizations that seek to shut down "killing centers" (abortion clinics) by intimidating protests that result in arrests and jail sentences for the protesters.
Meanwhile Gloria Feldt who is pro-choice argues that she is tired of going to candle-light vigils for those murdered by the Anti-Abortionists & the Religious Right and would prefer to have the government take more action to protect abortion clinics and the people who work there.

That’s why today, after what happened to George Tiller, I know that the only thing that will assuage my personal grief over his shocking loss is for leaders across our nation to join me in expressing outrage at this heinous crime, this domestic terrorism. And yes, they need to call it out in exactly those terms. That’s what it is.
I want to hear massive outrage on the part of the community. I want it to start with President Obama. His statement today is a good beginning.
But that’s not nearly enough. He must immediately outline an action plan to increase federal protection for providers and clinics and call for stringent enforcement of the Federal Access to Clinic Entrances Act. He has an opportunity to make a speech that addresses women’s moral right to reproductive self-determination as passionately as his brilliant speech about race did during the primary. He can and should lead the nation to a larger and more productive conversation about the complex choices women make, and why women deserve the respect, equality and justice inherent in the right to choose to have, or not have, a child. He should bring together pro-choice and anti-choice leaders and get them to issue a joint statement decrying Tiller’s murder as well as all such violent opposition to one another’s efforts. Now that would be real common ground.
But even if the president did all of that, I would still not be ready for another candlelight vigil. The change we need in our culture’s attitudes toward women’s reproductive justice has to happen both top-down and bottom-up.
When it comes to decrying Tiller’s unspeakable murder, I want to hear it from Congress. I want to hear it from clergy, the medical profession, the media and civic leaders: "This kind of violation will not be tolerated. Period." I want to see leaders and people at the grassroots joining hands together in support of those who provide women with reproductive health services, including abortion. I want them to put the yellow armband on, to assume Tiller’s name as so many took on the Obama’s middle name, Hussein, when he was disparaged during the election. Doctors have a special responsibility. David Toub M.D, MBA, who provided abortions when he was a practicing physician in Philadelphia, told me, "This could have been any of us who provide or provided abortion services. I'm just as annoyed by some of my own colleagues and the American Medical Association who marginalized us and even looked down at anyone involved in providing abortion."
