Billion Dollar Pro-War Propaganda Campaign Obama's Birth Certificate and Desperation On The Right & Bush's Legacy of " Honor & Dignity "

Anyway let's begin with a funny bit about the Bush Regime's multimillion dollar pro-war propaganda music video of Kid Rock which has been playing in a few thousand movie theaters across America. What the video suggests is that if you are an American and don't support the Wars in Iraq or Afghanistan then you are not a patriotic or real American. But the video goes even further than that by identifying America with militarism and the invasion of "Sovereign nations" whenever it feels like it. Militarism and War are depicted as fundamental to America . If America were to stop fighting wars and building bigger and better killing machines America would lose its soul. The video portrays the heart of darkness which is eating away at America's soul for at least the last eight years.

If I was into conspiracy theories I might point out the car has the somewhat nefarious " number 88 "on it which as everyone knows is code for Heil Hitler ( HH =88) in Neo-Nazi/ National Alliance /Skinhead/ White Supremacists' language. The reason the video bothers me a great deal is that it reminds me of the music and videos of white supremacists' videos on YOUTUBE. For research purposes I've been watching too many of them lately .

At Huffington Post by Chris Kelly December 8, 2008Save $125 Million, And Enjoy the Show

If Barack Obama is looking to save money next year, he might want to reexamine the $125 million we spent in 2008 on a program encouraging oafs to use their cell phones while I'm trying to watch a movie.

I'm talking about the money the Army National Guard gave LM&O Advertising to put that douchebag Kid Rock video in front of every movie I saw this year; the video that tells you to get on your cell phone -- right

...Think about it:
1. You're being forced to watch a commercial at the movies.
2. It's for a war there's a 50% chance you despise.
3. They made it with your money.
4. This douchebag Kid Rock is in it.
5. He's browbeating you about how he's a better citizen than you are.
6. Now turn on your cell phone. The feature's about to start.
Here's LM&O account executive Jason Fulmines:

"You have a captive audience. And after they're looking at ad after ad, this gives them something different to do."

And what's the American way to treat captives? Force them to watch propaganda and howl in their faces about freedom.

We may never know how much "Warrior" actually cost to produce. The Department of Defense has spent about $1.5 billion a year since 2001 on recruiting and advertising, but it doesn't break out advertising from its overall recruitment and advertising budget.

$1.5 billion sounds like a lot of money, but it's only ten times the budget of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

I don't know where the producers of "Warrior" found Afghanistan's cleanest village, but it sure looks like a redressed Mexican village on some movie ranch considerably closer to Santa Clarita than Kabul. The parade at the end was shot on Seinfeld Street at CBS Radford in Studio City.

The same lot where John Wayne had his fake war in Sands of Iwo Jima.

And where they made Gilligan's Island.

Who didn't have an exit strategy either.

---------------------------------------------------------------
Now to the far right's desperate attempts to find a legal way to prevent Obama from coming to office. The issue of ACORN registration fraud failed so far to do the job. His connections with Bill Ayers fizzled. John McCain had deeper connections to terrorists & other radicals such as White Supremacists than did Obama. So they are back to posing the question of where Obama was born and whether or not Obama is a real American citizen. They have already decided that Obama is not legally an American citizen and so whatever proof is presented to them they will regard as just another twist in this on-going conspiracy. This is the real test of a "conspiracy theory " that whatever facts are presented they can be seen as just more lies. it's like when Bush Cheney and company said Saddam had WMDS there was no way to challenge their belief. If none were found they just claimed Saddam had the WMDs too well hidden for anyone to find them. Even now there are conservative Americans who believe that the Bush Regime actually found the WMDs though there is no proof of this but there is no way to persuade these true-believers otherwise. The fact that Saddam destroyed his WMDs by 1993 doesn't have any impact on these true believers. These are the same people who believe that only 35,000 to 75,000 Iraqis have died in the war even though conservative estimates by various independent groups put the death toll of Iraqis at 500,000 to one million dead.

Is Obama a natural born American citizen?

Must both parents be American citizens to be eligible for the presidency?

Obama Birth Certificate Challenge Turned Down By Supreme Court

Even before Obama was elected these accusations were being made as we seehere with Michael Savage all too eager to believe whatever he's told especially if it can be used against Obama. Michael Savage has been freaking out about obama for quite some time.

In an article at the Chicago Tribue the authors go through the details of accusations explaining the bogus nature of the evidence.

Chicago Tribune Dec.3, 2008: Tax activist's ad challenges Obama's eligibility for office

An anti-tax activist from upstate New York who is questioning whether President-elect Barack Obama is a "natural born citizen" eligible for the nation's top job said Tuesday that his non-profit group spent "tens of thousands of dollars" to get his message across in ads in the Chicago Tribune this week.

Robert L. Schulz, 69, chairman of We The People Foundation, took out ads Monday and Wednesday to raise questions about whether Obama's Hawaii certificate of live birth is authentic.

The ads echo accusations circulated online by some Obama opponents before the election. Cases challenging Obama's citizenship have been tossed out of courts in several states, and Hawaiian officials have vouched for the authenticity of Obama's birth certificate, which is locked in a state vault. The Obama campaign likewise has always dismissed the accusations.

...Initially, Hawaiian officials said that privacy laws prevented them from releasing a copy or confirming that Obama's copy was authentic. But in late October as questions persisted, Hawaii's health director and head of vital statistics reviewed Obama's birth certificate in the department's vault and vouched for its authenticity.

•Schulz says that legal affidavits state Obama was born in Kenya.

The affidavits that Schulz refers to are filings by the Obama critics themselves in the court cases challenging Obama's citizenship.

•Obama's paternal grandmother is recorded on tape saying she attended Obama's birth in Kenya, Schulz says.

The group's Web site posted what it says is a transcript of a long-distance phone conversation in Swahili and English from late October between a questioner in the United States and Sarah Hussein Obama, in her Kenyan home. The translator said he was one of two interpreters conducting the interview in a crowded hut during a celebration, over a speaker phone that dropped the call three times. A copy of the recording was not provided by Schulz.

• Schulz says that "U.S. law in effect in 1961 [the year of Obama's birth] denied citizenship to any child born in Kenya if the father was Kenyan and the mother was not yet 19 years of age."

If a child is born in the United States—as Hawaiian officials state that Obama was—that child is a U.S. citizen regardless of his or her parents' nationalities. If born to an American parent outside the U.S., the law at the time would require the U.S. citizen parent to be at least 19, which Obama's mother was not. The provisions of this law were subsequently loosened and made retroactive for government employees serving abroad and their families. It appears that this would not apply to Obama's mother. The matter would seem to be academic: Hawaiian officials vouch for Obama's birth certificate.

•Schulz says that in 1965, Obama's mother relinquished whatever Kenyan or U.S. citizenship she and Obama had by marrying an Indonesian and becoming a naturalized Indonesian citizen.

U.S. law lists the specific acts and formal procedures necessary to relinquish U.S. nationality. The statute requires the acts be performed voluntarily and with the intention of relinquishing one's nationality. In many instances, one must be 18 to renounce one's citizenship. Obama moved to Indonesia in 1968 and moved back to Hawaii while still in grade school. There is no indication that Obama renounced his U.S. citizenship.

Schulz supports his argument with a reproduced Indonesian school document that states Obama's citizenship at that time as "Indonesian." But the same document also lists Obama's birthplace as " Honolulu, Hawaii."

Meanwhile we are getting more information on the Republican's attempt to re-write history in favor of Bush so that He will be remembered as one of America's greatest presidents rather than one of America's worst & most unpopular presidents in American history. It leads one to wonder if there are now thousands of paper shredder machines working 24/7 to destroy all evidence of wrong doing & criminal activities and unethical behavior. How many hard-drives have been accidentally wiped clean. The people in the Bush Regime have no shame or conscience I'm sure they all sleep quite soundly at night dreaming of those CEO type jobs they will be taking as part of their retirement packages while a few hundred thousand American workers are laid off without a cent in severance pay. Ah well as Bush said they had some good times and a lot of fun ripping the country off for Billions of dollars as it were.
From The Los Angeles Times we get more on Bush & friends push to rewrite history of Bush Regime to prove what a great president Bush has been. Given the average American's belief in American exceptionalism and their belief in the presidency as a position Blessed By God which means whoever the president is this is a matter of Divine Providence.

Since America does not have a Royal Family chosen by God it has been replaced by the presidency. Supposedly during the American Revolution the notion of the Divine Right of Kings was abandoned in favor of a more down to earth pragmatic form of a government by and for the people. The upshot is that once someone becomes president they are to be treated with respect & given the benefit of the doubt and are seen as some sort of superior human being who is in one way or another in direct communication with God. Some Americans including George W. Bush believe that a president by definition is infallible. This is just what Bush claimed all along that God was his chief advisor. He admits he talked to God a lot and God told him what to do. Would this make Bush son of God.

Therefore, it follows that Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and Karl Rove and others in George W. Bush's administration must be his chief disciples. If this holds true for Bush or Bush Senior or Ronald Reagan and Nixon should it not also be held true for Barack Obama or any president or does it only hold true for Republicans and "Real Conservatives".

It is odd how conservatives & Republicans will argue that the President who ever it is should be treated with respect and treated as though he holds this position as a matter of "divine providence" and not simply a matter of winning more votes than his opponent. They claim to believe this until a Democrat is voted into power and then according to conservatives and Republicans all bets are off and they attack a Democratic president on a daily basis as they did with Bill Clinton or John F. Kennedy.

Will these conservatives and Republicans show some respect for Barack Obama and treat his presidency as legitimate. But their logic is not that simple since they appear to argue that even though Obama won by some 9 million votes the Republicans and conservatives believe somehow or other Obama and the Democrats stole the election from them. They refuse to believe that their policies and their basic ideology has been defeated and rejected by a majority of Americans. This fact especially doesn't fit with the Neoconservative's vision of America. But they have always been experts at denying the facts on the ground. The Republicans and Neocons just can't believe that the party is over that their agenda of re-inventing America or giving America a fresh new make-over has come to a screeching halt.

"For Bush's staff, upbeat talking points on his tenure"; Los Angeles Times, By Peter Nicholas, dec. 9, 2008

Administration officials get a memo from the White House suggesting what to say about the last eight years: President Bush upheld 'the honor and the dignity of his office,' for one.

Reporting from Washington -- In case any Bush administration officials have trouble summing up the boss' record, the White House is providing a few helpful suggestions

A two-page memo that has been sent to Cabinet members and other high-ranking officials offers a guide for discussing Bush's eight-year tenure during their public speeches.

Titled "Speech Topper on the Bush Record," the talking points state that Bush "kept the American people safe" after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, lifted the economy after 2001 through tax cuts, curbed AIDS in Africa and maintained "the honor and the dignity of his office."

The document presents the Bush record as an unalloyed success.

It mentions none of the episodes that detractors say have marred his presidency: the collapse of the housing market and major financial services companies, the flawed intelligence in the run-up to the Iraq war, the federal response to Hurricane Katrina or the abuse of prisoners at Abu Ghraib.

In a section on the economy, speakers are invited to say that Bush cut taxes after 2001, setting the stage for years of job growth.

As for the current economic crisis, the memo says that Bush "responded with bold measures to prevent an economic meltdown."

And once again Karl Rove is doing more interviews to do all he can to ensure Bush is remembered as a great president who he claims was not appreciated by some government bureaucrats and politicians . Rove also suggest that there were many people who were hostile to Bush in such a way that suggested that they believed Bush's Presidency was not legitimate. Maybe he'll suggests as O'Reilly and Hannity claim that the press in general was hostile to Bush. To many people who didn't agree with Bush's policies it seemed more to the point that the press were all too fawning of Bush. His press conferences were basically staged events in which journalists who asked tough questions were after the event rarely called upon in press conferences. And never mind that Bush and his cronies were caught lieing to the press and the American people. Never mind that they shredded the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights so they could do whatever they wished to do.

Members of the press who kow towed to the Bush Regime were rewarded with extensive interviews or were paid out right to write favorable stories about the Bush Regime's policies. If there is one thing the Bush Regime could be remembered for is running one of the more successful propaganda machines in American history. They did manage to fool most of the American people the Mass Media and American legislators and the United Nations into letting them invade Iraq on false pretenses.

"Rove Planning to 'Name Names' of Bush Haters in His New Book" by Amanda Terkel, Think Progress December 8, 2008.

Karl Rove is reportedly one of the key architects overseeing the "Bush legacy project," predicting that the President will be remembered as a "far-sighted leader." In a new interview with Cox News, Rove rails against all the people in America who never "accepted the legitimacy of George W. Bush," saying that he plans to call them out in his new book:

Rove sees a presidency clouded by the way it began.

"There were people who never accepted the legitimacy of George W. Bush and acted accordingly," he said. [...]

Also reserved for between the covers of Rove's book is his checklist of the "great many of the political actors in this town (who) never accepted him as a legitimate president."

"I've got behind-the-scenes episodes that are going to show how unreceiving they were of this man as president of the United States," Rove said, adding: "I'm going to name names and show examples."

In the Cox interview, Rove also refused to acknowledge the role of Bush administration officials in various scandals, including the Valerie Plame, instead blaming "Washington partisanship."

and so it goes,
GORD.
