GOP & Neocons Violent and Racist Rhetoric from Garroting Julian Assange to Beck Inciting Violence & Media MIA GOP Attacks On Women's Rights

UPDATE: 2:48 PM Oct. 31, 2010.

"Should Muslims be denied the right to run for office because of their religion? No," Phillips wrote, according to the letter, posted by the Minnesota Independent. "The Constitution specifies that no religious test can be used to exclude someone from public office. But when someone adheres to an ideology that says kill people who disagree with you, that is something voters should seriously consider when they vote."

He later added: "I am not going to apologize because I'm bothered by a religion that says kill the infidel, especially when I am the infidel. ... I learned everything I needed to know about tolerance on September 11th."

And :

I'd like to ask a simple question: Why isn't Julian Assange dead? . . . WikiLeaks is easily among the most significant and well-publicized breaches of American national security since the Rosenbergs gave the Soviets the bomb. . . .

So again, I ask: Why wasn't Assange garroted in his hotel room years ago?

Christian Whiton, a former Bush State Department official, wasn't as restrained in his Fox News column last week, writing:

Rather, this [the WikiLeaks disclosure] is an act of political warfare against the United States. . . . .Here are some of the things the U.S. could do: . . .Explore opportunities for the president to designate WikiLeaks and its officers as enemy combatants, paving the way for non-judicial actions against them.

There appears to be an increase in violent rhetoric and a call for violent actions .
From the call to kill Julian Assange the president of wikileaks for leaking a vast amount of military documents
to death threats against a woman who didn't insist on saying the pledge of Allegiance at a meeting after she was targeted by Glenn Beck
to calling for the ouster of Ellison because he's a Muslim because as a Muslim he cannot be trusted and is a threat to America's National Security.
GOP has also called for the imprisoning of doctors and their staff for performing abortions.
They are against abortions in all cases even in cases where the woman is a victim of rape and incest victims.

"Why is Assange still alive?"

The Wretched Mind of the American Authoritarian
By Glenn Greenwald at Salon.com Oct. 30,2010

-- Decadent governments often spawn a decadent citizenry. A 22-year-old Nebraska resident was arrested yesterday for waterboarding his girlfriend as she was tied to a couch, because he wanted to know if she was cheating on him with another man; I wonder where he learned that? There are less dramatic though no less nauseating examples of this dynamic. In The Chicago Tribune today, there is an Op-Ed from Jonah Goldberg -- the supreme, living embodiment of a cowardly war cheerleader -- headlined: "Why is Assange still alive?" It begins this way:

I'd like to ask a simple question: Why isn't Julian Assange dead? . . . WikiLeaks is easily among the most significant and well-publicized breaches of American national security since the Rosenbergs gave the Soviets the bomb. . . .

So again, I ask: Why wasn't Assange garroted in his hotel room years ago?

It's a serious question.

He ultimately concludes that "it wouldn't do any good to kill him, given the nature of the Web" -- whatever that means -- and reluctantly acknowledges: "That's fine. And it's the law. I don't expect the U.S. government to kill Assange, but I do expect them to try to stop him." What he wants the Government to do to "stop" Assange is left unsaid -- tough-guy neocons love to beat their chest and demand action without having the courage to specify what they mean -- but his question ("Why isn't Julian Assange dead?") was published in multiple newspapers around the country today.

I emailed Whiton and told him I'd like to do a podcast interview with him for Salon about his WikiLeaks proposal and he replied: "Thank you for the invitation, but I am starting a trip tomorrow and will be on a plane just about all day." I replied that it didn't have to be the next day -- I'd be happy to do it any day that was convenient for him -- and he then stopped answering. As I said, the real objective is for them to beat their chest in public and show everyone how tough they are -- take 'em out, Whiton roared -- but they then scamper away when called upon to be specific about what they mean or to defend it (let alone to participate in the violence they relentlessly urge). Whiton was just echoing his fellow war cheerleader, torture advocate Marc Thiessen, who wrote this in The Washington Post, under the headline "WikiLeaks Must be Stopped"

The government has a wide range of options for dealing with him. It can employ not only law enforcement but also intelligence and military assets to bring Assange to justice and put his criminal syndicate out of business.

Woman Receives Death Threats Days After Beck Targets Her On His Show (for not being enthusiastic about saying the Pledge of allegiance), Think Progress, Oct. 29,2010

The League of Women Voters has filed complaints with police in Evanston, IL and the FBI saying that one of their officials has been targeted by death threats relating to a candidatess debate she moderated last week. Kathy Tate-Bradish was a volunteer moderator at the October 21 debate in the state’s 8th District and sparked conservative outrage when she expressed what was perceived as “lukewarm” support for reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

Just as the debate was about to begin, an audience member asked Tate-Bradish whether the pledge would be recited. When she “explained the pledge was not scheduled to begin the event, almost all in the crowd of more than 300 stood and enthusiastically recited it anyway.” Tate-Bradish recited the pledge as well, but told the crowd afterwards that the Pledge is not typically recited at candidate debates moderated by the League.

Within a few days, Tate-Bradish went from an unknown local League official to a right-wing villain, thanks to Fox News host Glenn Beck, who devoted a significant portion of his October 25 show to attacking her personally:

BECK: We wanted to look at the moderator, Kathy Tate-Bradish, from the League of Women Voters. Oh, she sounds so neutral and everything. I mean, she’s even neutral on the Pledge, apparently — just a typical woman voter trying to get the truth out. No, not so much — not so much.

She is on fire for Obama. She is a big-time Obama supporter. In fact, so much so, she’s part of his Organizing for America arm. Hmm. She’s even hosted campaign event in her home in 2007, part of her post on OFA’s, Organizing for America Web site, “Hope Action Change.”

Woman Receives Death Threats Days After Beck Attacks Her Reluctance To Recite Pledge of Allegiance

Tea party founder defends attack on congressman’s Muslim faith By Rachel Rose Hartman The Upshot via Islamophobia Today October 28, 2010

Judson Phillips, founder of the Tea Party Nation, suggested this weekend that Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) be voted out of Congress for being too liberal and too radical--and because, Phillips said, he's a Muslim who supports terrorists.

And Phillips says he's not about to apologize for that last incendiary charge.

The controversy began when Phillips wrote the following message to supporters (it's unedited and contains several mistakes, including the claim that Ellison is the only Muslim in Congress; Rep. Andre Carson of Indiana is also Muslim):

Ellison is one of the most radical members of congress. He has a ZERO rating from the American Conservative Union. He is the only Muslim member of congress. He supports the Counsel for American Islamic Relations, HAMAS and has helped congress send millions of tax dollars to terrorists in Gaza.
Phillips sent a follow-up email to supporters this week reiterating his belief that Muslims deserve voters' scrutiny but also suggesting that the liberal media misinterpreted the intent of his original comments.

Critics accuse the conservative tea party movement of fostering racism, discrimination and intolerance. Tea party members insist that the movement abhors intolerance and bigotry.

Ellison penned a response that the Washington Post published online Wednesday, saying in part: "I issue a call to civility, and urge Americans to reject the divisive rhetoric of Republican Tea Party leaders like Judson Phillips; including calls for my defeat solely because of my religion."

Phillips, a Tennessee lawyer, founded the Tea Party Nation group, which drew flak earlier this year for holding an elaborate convention in Tennessee that featured guest speaker Sarah Palin. Some supporters balked at the high costs of the event and questioned the motives behind Phillips' for-profit organization. The group canceled a Las Vegas convention this month.

Meanwhile the MSM/Media is ignoring the GOP candidate's attacks on Women's Reproductive rights. 78 Republican candidates are against abortion even in cases of rape or incest. They believe a fetus or even a Zygote 's rights trump the rights of a pregnant woman.

The Republicans have also been debating whether women who have miscarriages should be charged with a criminal offense.

Unemployed and poor women being disproportionately affected by the economic crisis.
For instance Domestic Violence is on the rise yet funding for Shelters or Help lines are being cut.
GOP members want to make abortion a crime and also want legislation for charging and imprisoning doctors for performing abortions.

GOP wants to end any government funding for women victims of Domestic Violence since this is just a private matter for the families themselves to deal with.

According to their literal inerrant reading of the Bible the majority of women should be stay at home mothers who are ruled over by their husbands and that a man is permitted to discipline his wife and his children as he sees fit.

Their notion of traditional Marriage and traditional Family Values is that of an authoritarian or tyranny by the husband and father as the head of the family.
They are also against divorce except in cases of adultery.

Essentially they want to roll back any progress women have made in gaining equal rights and respect in the last 100 years or so.
So how different is this attitude towards women's rights that different from that of the Taliban or the government of Saudi Arabia.

Well they are not yet considering use of the Burqa or something like it but they might want to pass legislation dealing with how women should be permitted to dress or limiting some of their activities such as frequenting bars without a male escort.

GOP Hopefuls Threaten Reproductive Rights, Support for Poor Women by: Rose Aguilar, t r u t h o u t | Op-Ed Oct. 31, 2010

The national media proudly proclaimed 2010 as the Year of the GOP Woman, but they've largely failed to bring actual women's issues into the conversation.

Take abortion. "The media silence on abortion means we might end up forcing women to bear their rapists' baby and the average American doesn't even know about it," says Loretta Ross, founding member of the SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective.

Raw Story recently reported that at least 78 Republicans on the November ballot oppose abortion, even in cases of rape and incest.

According to official numbers from the US Department of Justice, one in three girls is sexually abused before the age of 18; 30-40 percent of victims are abused by a family member.

When Nevada Senate hopeful Sharron Angle was asked by conservative radio talk host Bill Manders about whether she would support banning abortion even in cases of rape or incest, she said, "You know, I'm a Christian and I believe that God has a plan and a purpose for each one of our lives and that he can intercede in all kinds of situations and we need to have a little faith in many things."

When talk show host Alan Stock asked Angle what she would say to a young girl who was got pregnant after being raped by her father, she said, "I think that two wrongs don't make a right."

If Republicans like Angle, Delaware Senate hopeful Christine O'Donnell or Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann have their way, women and girls would be forced to bear their rapists' babies. Anti-choice Republicans rarely go this far, but this new breed clearly feels empowered to take such extreme measures. This issue is getting attention in the alternative media and in recent debates, but the national press has largely failed to expose just how extreme these candidates are on social issues.

"It's shocking," says Amie Newman, managing editor of RH Reality Check, an online publication focusing on reproductive health and rights. "These candidates are espousing extremely frightening positions on women's health. It's important for us to understand that these positions are not just political rhetoric. If these people are elected, they have the power to change women's and girl's lives for the worst."

In her piece "Mainstreaming Extremism," Newman exposes the most extreme anti-choice GOP candidates, including Republican Senate hopeful Pat Toomey from Florida, who supports jailing doctors for performing abortions. When Republican Senate hopeful Marco Rubio from Florida was House Speaker, he passed an anti-choice bill forcing women to pay for an ultrasound prior to an abortion unless they could prove they were raped. Gov. Charlie Crist vetoed the bill.

Defunding Domestic Violence Support

In parts of California's Central Valley, where the unemployment rate is 30 percent, people are losing their homes and homeless shelters are seeing more women and children than ever. "We're trying to figure out how to serve people. We're working weekends and nights."

Demand at domestic violence shelters across the country is also on the rise, according to the National Network to End Domestic Violence, but you'd be hard pressed to hear any of the cable or Sunday shows raise the issue. According to the 2009 National Census of Domestic Violence Services, on September 15, 2009, 32,524 domestic violence victims found refuge in emergency shelters or transitional housing provided by local domestic violence programs; 32,979 adults and children received nonresidential assistance and services. Because of budget cuts, more than 9,000 requests, including 5,500 for housing, were turned down...

The Radical Agendas of The Billionaires' Funded Tea Party Movement ,Tenthers , State Sovereignists, Libertarians and Christian Dominionists

UPDATE: 3:16 PM, Sat. Oct. 30, 2010.

* Radical Agendas of Right Wing Movements both Religious and economic are funded in large part by Billionaires and the Conservative super wealthy.

* Are they in fact UnAmerican since they reject most of the laws passed by the US Federal government since 1920 or even after 1820 ???

* Must Average Americans kowtow to these Uberconservative super-wealthy pro-big business elites who favor unfettered capitalism and who argue that Property Rights trump all other rights ???

* Must average Americans kowtow as well to the Uberconservatives'Fellow Travelers and enablers in the Religious Right Movement who in fact are religious fanatics wanting to make America into a puritanical Christian Nation ???

State Rights v the Federal Government

Unfettered Deregulated Capitalism

Let's begin with first principles as they are characterized by those Americans who refer to themselves as "Tenthers" or "Sovereignists" or "libertarians" .

Sovereignty Under 10th Amendment
SpongeJosh | May 15, 2009

With each passing day, our constitution seems to be hanging by a thread, and states are usurped of it's constitutional rights to govern within it's respective borders. We are seeing laws implemented by "Big Brother" such as the GIVE Act, the REAL ID Act, and other legislation which undermine not only our state's sovereignty, but our own personal liberties as well.

In the words of a founding father, Alexander Hamilton states the 4 principal reasons why our federal government was formed:

"(1) The common defense (national security);
(2) the preservation of public peace, as well against internal convulsions as external attacks;
(3) the regulation of commerce with other nations and between states;
(4) the superintendent of our intercourse, political and commercial, with foreign countries (foreign affairs)."

There seems to be a bit of confusion of what it means to be a Constitutionalist or supporter of the Tenth Amendment (Both go hand in hand) and a Conservative. Let me explain my definition of both.

A Constitutionalist and Tenth Amendment supporter believe that the U.S. Constitution is arguably the greatest political document man could devise. Sure, the Articles of Confederation were also a great document, in fact the Convention delegates that gave us the current Constitution were technically meeting only to revise the Articles. With that said, we support the United States Constitution wholeheartedly and want those elected to Federal office to abide by it. Unfortunately, they stopped many, many years ago.

What does supporting the Constitution mean? Many people who call themselves "Conservative" have rebuked us for betraying conservative principles ie... Gun Rights, Abortion, Homosexual Marriage, Drugs and prayer in school to name a few.

If you are a federal office holder and "Conservative", you should always defend the Second Amendment, look to overturn Roe v. Wade, vote for the Marriage Amendment and absolutely be in favor of the War on Drugs. This is what a Conservative is conserving, right?

Ignore the Feds! Tenth Amendment Center Pledge for the Constitution

While accusing the Obama administration of having a radical "socialist " agenda for America the extremists in the anti-Obama camp or faction as it were is made up of various individuals and groups which have their own radical agendas whether its the Christian Dominionists, Nativist or the Tenthers who want remake America according to their extremist ideology or theology. Each wants to recreate their respective versions of an American historical myth of America's Golden Age.

The religious radicals such as the Christian Dominionist want to return America to a time when America was a Christian Nation and there was no such notion as "The Separation of Church and State". As we have noted they believe that "the Separation of Church and State" was an invention and innovation and did not exist as part of the Founding Fathers vision of America .

They further claim that in fact the Founding Fathers wanted the government and its laws to reflect Biblical laws , principles and morality. According to their interpretation of American history and the founding documents The Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights etc. these documents were conceived and authored by men who were Christian and who were inspired and guided by the Will of God in the writing of these documents.

These documents are therefore seen as having a "Divine Authorship" and therefore have Divine Authority almost on a par with The Holy Bible itself. Therefore they contend that it is not just wrong but sacrilegious to tamper with these documents

So if a new piece of legislation is not in sync with these documents and their Divine Intentions such legislation must be rejected. What is true about these Founding Documents is true for all time. So the move towards secularization and the embracing of "The Separation of Church and State" has been a violation of the founding principles, ideology and theology upon which American governance is based.
If for instance blasphemy, homosexuality (Sodomites) , adultery, violating the rules concerning the Sabbath were crimes punishable by the State in 1800 then these laws are sacrosanct and must remain the law of the land for all time. One is forced to ask what about slavery as an institution should it have been kept as an American Institution because it was according to Christian Dominionists or Evangelical Fundamentalists Divinely sanctioned . So they would have similar arguments concerning gender equality and rights and who is permitted to hold public office-Christians only of course and women would not have been given the right to vote and members of the LGBT community would be "put in irons " as it were.

While the Evangelical Fundamentalists and Christian Dominionists want to radically change America's institutions and its society there are those who approach these issues from a Political Ideology such as Libertarianism, Tentherism who also believe America has betrayed its basic principles as put forth by the Founding Fathers .

The Tenthers , sovereignist, and Liberarians argue that under the US constitution the Federal Government's powers were to be limited with the States being granted more powers than the feds. For instance they claim abortion, school prayer, gun rights laws, the death penalty and a host of other laws should be dealt with on a state by state basis. If someone doesn't like the laws of the state they live in they can always move to another state which is more in accordance with their beliefs.

For instance candidate Rand Paul argues that the Civil Rights legislation though in his view for the most part constitutional he believes that parts of the legislation concerning discrimination by private businesses and corporations is unconstitutional.
So African Americans who insisted on equal rights and equal access to public facilities and private facilities were wrong in the latter part of their demands. Rand Paul and other libertarians and Tenthers believe that all such laws regarding private businesses must be amended and tossed out.

Rachel Maddow Discussion With Rand Pauls about "Civil Rights Legislation" and the rights of Private Property and Private Business. He argues the part of that legislation of 1966 which dealt with discrimination by private businesses was in his view was a case of over-reach by the federal government & the Supreme Court. He argues government should not dictate to private business whether they be permitted to discriminate on the basis of race or religion, ethnicity or gender , or sexual orientation.
In his discussion with Rachel Maddow he assumes this is just an academic exercise on her part refusing to see the the very real effects of such a view on individuals or groups and on society . Maddow questions his ideology of property rights and how far should it be pushed. Much of the reform in the United State that has occurred according to his logic would have to be revised and or tossed out.

They therefore argue that given the establishment of "property rights" businesses such as a hotel or restaurant or Woolworth's or Wall Mart have the right to refuse to accommodate, to serve certain groups such as African-Americans or Asian Americans , Native Americans, Muslims, Jews , the Irish , Mormons, atheists or women etc. So these uberconservatives would of course be against Supreme Court ruling such as the 1954 Brown V. The Board of Education or the 1973 ruling of Roe V Wade since these are examples of federal over reach and as unconstitutional. They are also against laws concerning minimum wage, collective bargaining rights, health and safety issues, environmental legislation, child-labor laws , the Income Tax, Inheritance Tax or regulations dealing with the creation of Monopolies or Trusts (ala "The Trust Buster" President Teddy Roosevelt ) or laws concerning Health Care or welfare or subsidies of any sort to the disadvantaged that is the poor, the lame , the sick, the unemployed , the mentally challenged.

So these uberconservaives, Tenthers and libertarians don't just want to roll back certain types of legislation back lets say a decade or two but rather to the era prior to the 1920s or even prior the Civil War era which the various groups or individual actors respectively designate America's Golden Age.

Tentherism

Tentherism: The Bizarre Ideology Behind Tea Partiers' Plans to Kill Social Security and Child Labor Laws Tentherism is an anachronistic Constitutional theory embraced by a slate of GOP candidates bent on dismantling 100 years of progress. AlterNet Oct. 24, 2010

More than seventy years ago, the Supreme Court abandoned a brief, disastrous experiment with "tentherism," a constitutional theory that early twentieth century justices wielded to protect monopolies, strip workers of their right to organize and knock down child labor laws. This discredited constitutional theory is back -- with a vengeance -- endangering Medicare, Social Security, the minimum wage and even the national highway system and America's membership in the United Nations. For the first time in three generations, the right is fielding a slate of candidates convinced that any attempt to better the lives of ordinary Americans violates the Constitution -- while a number of sitting lawmakers such as Reps. John Shadegg (R-AZ) andDonald Manzullo (R-IL) are already actively pushing tentherism from within the Congress. Make no mistake, this agenda threatens all Americans, from the youngest schoolchild to the most venerable retirees.

SLAMMING SCHOOLHOUSE DOORS: Tentherism's core tenet is that the 10th Amendment must be read too narrowly to permit much of the progress of the last century. Thus, for example, because the Constitution doesn't actually use the word "education" -- it instead gives Congress broad authority to spend money to advance the "common defense" and "general welfare" -- Senate candidates like Ken Buck (R-CO) and Sharron Angle (R-NV) claim that the federal Department of Education is unconstitutional. That means no federal student loan assistance or Pell Grants for middle class students struggling to pay for college, and no education funds providing opportunities to students desperately trying to break into the middle class. And that's hardly the worst news tenthers have in store for young Americans. Alaska GOP Senate candidate Joe Miller wants to declare child labor laws unconstitutional -- returning America to the day when ten-year-olds labored in coal mines.

THANKLESS LABOR: Tenther candidates have even worse plans for working age Americans. Miller and West Virginia GOP Senate candidate John Raese both claim that the federal minimum wage is unconstitutional -- a position the Supreme Court unanimously rejected in 1941. If you're a person of color or a woman or a person of faith than you are also out of luck, because Kentucky GOP Senate candidate Rand Paulagrees with Justice Clarence Thomas that the ban on employment and pay discrimination is unconstitutional (don't try to get a meal on your lunch break either, because both men feel the same way about the ban on whites-only lunch counters). Significantly, the constitutional doctrine which supports the minimum wage is the same one which supports child labor laws and bans on discrimination, so when a candidate comes out in opposition to any one of these laws, it is likely that they oppose all of them. To top this all off, Alaska's Miller even claims that unemployment benefits violate the Constitution, so Americans who are unable to find work in the new tenther regime will simply be cast out into the cold.

AN IMPOVERISHED RETIREMENT: Social Security may be the most successful program in American history. Without it, nearly half of all seniors would live below the poverty line. Yet, because words like "retirement" don't specifically appear in the Constitution, tenthers think that Social Security is forbidden. Indeed, Social Security has not just been labeled unconstitutional by specific GOP candidates, the Republican Party's "Pledge To America" embraces a tenther understanding of the Constitution which endangers both Social Security and Medicare.

Tenthers respond to claims that they would abolish America's entire safety net for seniors by pointing out that state governments could still create their own retirement programs, but such a state takeover of retirement programs is economically impossible unless America forbids its citizens from retiring in a different state than the one that they paid taxes in while working.

Some tenther candidates have also suggested that Social Security can survive so long as it is privatized, but privatization would impose significant new risks on seniors, create new administrative costs, force benefit reductions and cost more money than the present system. In other words, the right has a simple plan for American families: making sure that everyone at the dinner table is completely on their own.

They object to health care reform , the stimulus , are dismissive of environmental concerns and are in favor of deregulation and the privatizing of public funded institutions such as the Public School system and are anti-income tax, against any sort of government funded social net from minimum wage, unemployment benefits, welfare, subsidies for students in public schools or in university or retraining programs or subsidized Day Care or parks and wild life preserves owned and run by government etc.

The Koch brothers have been involved in funding right wing organizations for about two decades. They funded the Tea Party Movement and Americans For Prosperity to create the impression of a growing spontaneous grassroots movement .

Fox News believe that no government should have any say over private corporations. Fox and the Billionaires argue that government has no right to interfere with how a corporation is operated -Whether concerning minimum wage, minimum health and safety standards for workers or issues concerning whether a product or service stands up to scrutiny or is safe- for instance they believe government has no right to regulate car manufacturers or the Tobacco Giants or the Oil and Gas industries.

For instance in the case of the BP oil spill in the Gulf they believe that President Obama or any other president or administration has no business interfering with oil and gas companies and should not be permitted to punish them for environmental damage or a negative impact on the health of their workers or the negative effect such industries may have on the general public.
So oil companies should be given carte blanche to do as they see fit.
They also believe any recalls of products because of public health concerns is up to the corporations and not the government or the public at large.
From their point of view they should be able insist on "Gag Orders" or even litigation against anyone going public about health hazards or environmental issues which portray the business or industry in a negative light .
They believe in a nut shell that property rights must trump all other rights.

Fox News Defends Koch brothers against Obama.
Whatever these Billionaires say or do is beyond reproach according to Fox News.

For all their talk about democracy and individual freedom and their anti-government stance they want government to abrogate an individual's freedom and privacy by insisting on drug testing on employees and on those receiving Unemployment benefits, or welfare , social assistance or food stamps or all those employed by any level of government. So their reason for this is just to punish private citizens for their non-job related activities or as an excuse to get rid of certain employees whom they dislike and to reduce the number of people receiving any kind of government assistance.

Drug Test The Unemployed - Tea Party Candidate Nikki Haley

As we see in this clip Sharron Angle has little or no sympathy for America's veterans. She wants them to pay for their medical needs through private medical insurance.
She sees nothing wrong with soldiers who are injured before the end of their contract with the government having their salaries denied to them or bonuses which they were told they were entitled to.
The Veterans Affairs depart in the USA is woefully under funded and appears to be more of a hindrance than a help for veterans. During the Bush years this has only worsened as funding was reduced for the VA on the one hand and the various cuts to the salaries of the Troops. The Conservatives in the GOP or the Democratic Party see nothing wrong with cutting the salaries and benefits of soldiers or making them pay or having the public raise funds for proper effective protective gear for soldiers.

On the other hand these Uberconservatives see nothing wrong with Corporations making a killing off of Wars that America is engaged in.
This used to be called "War Profiteering" as in WWII when various American CEOs and owners were taken to court and fined etc. for War Profiteering selling goods to the enemy or cutting corners on products manufactured for the American war effort. now Americans see it as business as usual. It is difficult to get average middle-class Americans and those belonging to the Managerial Class who are themselves profiting as shareholders in these corporations that there is something wrong when a corporation takes advantage of the government, the Pentagon and the soldiers fighting and dying in Iraq , Afghanistan or elsewhere.

This is rapacious Capitalism at its worth and Americans believe in it. They have when all is said and done little regard for those in the US military who are mostly of working class stock and include various minorities .

So what if a few thousand "NOBODIES" are killed in a war as long as America is seen as powerful and that it isable to stel other Nations natural resources at bargain basement prices or that they outsource by exploiting workers in other nations including prisoners, children who are chained at their work stations and where if anyone mentions unions and collective bargaining are either fired or tend to go missing as the for hire death squads work for American corporations.

These things matter little to Americans as they most of the world's population as inferior to Americans and therefore these "Others" should be happy with whatever crumbs American businesses or American government gives them .

For KBR, Halliburton, Blackwater/ XE

Angle Calls For Privatizing The Veterans Administration

As Sharron Angle argues the Public Schools are in the hands of Godless socialist and leftists and so should be phased out so schools will become a private concern and that there should be an increase in home schooling which should not be regulated by any level of government.
Sharron Angle: Eliminate Dept. of Education

And of course Sharron Angle like other GOP Tea Party candidates has been given direct orders by God to run against the Godless Harry Reid ???
It is only logical to conclude given her statement that God is her campaign manager that her opponent and all those who support him are being deceived by demonic forces or in fact are themselves anti-God. So Harry Reid has become possessed by some lowly demon and so must in Angle's view be replaced by a more Godly, Christian soul. (More shades of Christian Domionism)

David and Charles Koch and the funding of the Tea Party Movement
5years ago they began by funding Americans For Prosperity and have been pouring money into it and related astroturf/ pseudo grass roots pro-Big Business, anti-taxation of the wealthiest 2 % of Americans. They have not stopped there but have extended their protest to attack Obama as a "socialist " and or "Communist" as not being a "Real American" and questioning his US citizenship and pushing the notion that Obama is a secret Muslim who is part of a Muslim World Wide Conspiracy to conquer America and other Western Nations to make them into Islamic states which would enforce the most extreme forms of Sharia Islamic Law.The Tea Party has also shown a great deal of tolerance towards participants who are racist, anti-immigrant, anti-Muslims and anti-government.

Odd that anyone would be surprised at how acceptable Muslim hating and bashing has become for many politicians and Media personalities and a large portion of American citizens. Obama The Angel Of Death ??? Ugandan Anti-Gay Bill A Foretaste Of America Under Christian Dominionist' Newt Gingrich, Sara Palin & Lou Engle ET AL

UPDATED: Wednesday, Oct. 27, 4:16 & 5:28 PM.

Ugandan LGBT community experiencing more violent assaults after US Evangelicals stirred up fear about the so-called Gay Agenda that is the (Bogus) Internationally organized Homosexual Conspiracy (Theory).

Let's begin with the over-the -top rhetoric of the Pro-Life anti-Abortion Religious Right organizations attacking President Obama or anyone who is not as fanatically against abortion as they are.

Personhood USA Calls President Obama the "Angel of Death"

Kudos to Kyle-Nice one-

Personhood USA Calls President Obama the "Angel of Death" by Kyle at right Wing Watch October 19, 2010

A few months ago, we noted how the anti-choice zealots behind Colorado's "personhood" Amendment 62 had started running radio ads likening abortion to slavery ... but that was nothing compared to this new video supporting the effort from Personhood USA in which President Obama is explicitly likened to the Angel of Death:

Lou Engle "The Call" preparing for "The Student Call" Nov. 13, 2010, Pasadena ,CA.

and a campaign ad attacking Sam Brownback for his association with Lou Engle which makes him a radica.

Sam Brownback - Dividing Kansas

Lou Engle and other American Evangelicals have been promulgating their bizarre and hate- filled "Gay Conspiracy Theory " aka "The Gay Agenda" to countries such as Uganda .(Note in Nigeria due to the influence of these Evangelical/Pentacostals children are being tortured and killed supposedly for being witches or demonically possessed)

Pastor SSemba of Uganda a friend of Lou Engle, Scott Lively and Rick Warren - Don't be fooled These Evangelicals and Homophobes are radical and serious about anti-Gay legislation. First Uganda and then the rest of Africa and then the USA???
ABC Nightline: Preaching Hate in Uganda

The Ugandans who now adhere to the Evangelical Christian Dominionists' belief system have been convinced by these American Gay-bashers that they have to do whatever is necessary to defeat "The Gay Agenda". They have been told that it is leftists, and liberal non-Ugandans who are infiltrating Uganda and undermining the Nation by pushing the so-called Gay Agenda. They are told by these Evangelicals that their country is essentially under attack by Gay Stealth Terrorists who are demonically possessed who have the "power " to make millions of Ugandans into "Sexual deviants". Once again the Evangelicals are promoting the idea that being Gay is a choice and those who choose to be Gay are Demonically Possessed or just plain evil.

So the Ugandan government has responded by initiating an anti-Gay bill which will lead to not just Gays being incarcerated but all those who do not report or turn in to the authorities anyone they know who is Gay or may be planing to take part in some form of homosexual or other deviant sexual behavior. In many cases those arrested may get life imprisonment or even the death penalty as the video below discusses and exposes that the Bill is much worse than what Americans and others are led to believe.

Uganda: Kill the gays and all their friends, too
robtish | February 15, 2010

http://wakingupnow.com Uganda's anti-gay bill is far more lethal than we're being told. You don't even have to be gay or have gay sex to be put to death. Some doubt this, so here it is. Just connect the dots

Are American Evangelicals /Christian Dominionists using Uganda and other African Nations as experiments in the practical application of their theology and or Ideaology. Are these trial runs for how they one day hope to "Transform America " into a Christian Dominionists Theocracy ???

The anti-Gay Ugandan experiment- is this a foretaste of what's to come for America once the likes of Newt Gingrich, Sara Palin as president and vice president and Lou Engle as their spiritual adviser take power in 2012. If a few more of their ilk manage to get elected next week in the USA one wonders how much of an effect will this have on the GOP and its relationship with the Obama administration. More than likely the acrimony in Washington will be exacerbated.

There are those whether politicians evangelical preachers who in their view reject contemporary American society and wish to return American society back to traditional Judeo- Christian values.

Lou Engle and his disciples or Apostles and would be Christian martyrs believe that they must defeat the demonic forces and retake America and spread their beliefs to the nations.

It is no exaggeration to call their followers "would-be-Martyrs" because over and over again Lou Engle or Ron Luce and others especially in targeting children, teenagers or young adults tell them that they must be willing to fight and die for Jesus ( or for Lou Engle, Ron Luce ET AL). Their notion of Spiritual Warfare goes well beyond prayer and sharing the Gospel. As Rick Warren or Doug Coe have said that the True Believers must be as fanatical as the Hitler Youth.

Their agenda as such does not stop at America's borders since it is their duty to spread the Gospel of Jesus to eventually make all or at least most nations into Christian Nations and to become Disciples of God.

This they see as fulfilling the Great Commission not merely spreading the gospel but also insisting the Nations become disciples of Jesus and enshrine Christian Dominion and Biblical Law .

So the Uberconservative Christian Dominionists have targeted various nations where they have been able to establish a foothold or beach head - Lou Engles, Rick Warren, Cindy Jacobs , Global Harvest and The Call have extended their influence into various countries to get them to take part in a Spiritual revival that includes changing the society and its laws to reflect the Christian Dominionists' ideology and/ or theology. So they have been taking part in a Christian Missionary invasion of other nations . To a great extent this is just a continuation in Western and Christian imperialism rooted in religiosity and western European and/or white supremacy -

Bruce Wilson writes about Lou Engle's role in the NAR:

"Lou Engle belongs to a little known but rapidly emerging tendency within Pentecostalism and charismatic Christianity that by 2000 was estimated to encompass 295 million Christians worldwide. Perhaps the leading super-denomination within this emergent tendency is the “New Apostolic Reformation.”, which seeks to radically restructure the faith by placing believers in pyramidal authority structures under its apostles and prophets. NAR founder C. Peter Wagner has declared his movement is leading a second Reformation."

David Bahati: Lou Engle expressed support for Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Bill – Guest Post by Jeff Sharlet Posted on June 14th, 2010 at Warren Throckmorton

[Author Jeff Sharlet (The Family) recently returned from Uganda where he conducted research for an upcoming book. While there, he interviewed most of the key promoters of Uganda's Anti-Homosexuality Bill, including David Bahati and Julius Oyet. He also attended The Call Uganda and heard Lou Engle speak. After reading Lou Engle's recent statement about The Call Uganda, Jeff sent along the following observations which he offers in this guest post. Jeff has some important information and perspective to report here.]

David Bahati: Lou Engle expressed support for the Anti-Homosexuality Bill

Jeff Sharlet

Either Lou Engle isn’t telling the whole truth, or some of his key allies in Uganda aren’t. I attended his rally in Kampala in the company of Member of Parliament David Bahati, the author of the bill. After the rally, I rode with Bishop Oyet and Bahati in Bahati’s car to the Sheraton hotel, where I interviewed Oyet for about 45 minutes, recorded. I’ll be writing about what I learned in Kampala in my forthcoming book, but Engle’s latest statement prompts some points worth making in the meantime:

1. Both Oyet and Bahati were ecstatic at what they perceived as Engle’s strong support of the bill. They felt his rally and his statements would be a turning point for the bill, reassuring their Ugandan allies that they had support abroad.

1. Both Oyet and Bahati were ecstatic at what they perceived as Engle’s strong support of the bill. They felt his rally and his statements would be a turning point for the bill, reassuring their Ugandan allies that they had support abroad.

2. Both Oyet and Bahati told me that Engle had explicitly expressed his support for the bill, telling them that he had to lie to the Western media because gays control it. They said he said one thing to the BBC and then walked over to Bahati and said that he really supported the bill. Either Engle isn’t telling the whole truth, or Oyet and Bahati aren’t. I tend to believe Bahati here, since Engle didn’t mean anything to him until he met him that day. He hadn’t heard of him and decided to attend the rally only after I’d told him a few things about Engle. In other words, he left the rally thrilled with Engle based on that encounter with Engle alone. Clearly, Engle did something to please him.

3. I spoke with Engle briefly–also recorded–and he said the following: “To this nation the pastors, the leaders, they’ve said they don’t want that agenda but it’s coming in, getting pushed by NGOs, UN, Unicef and other organizations so we’re just trying to take a stand to encourage them in their stand.” That certainly sounds like he’s supporting the bill, which is the only Ugandan stand to which he could be referring.

4. Engle says in his statement last week that Christian leaders in Uganda are working to soften the punishments. But both Oyet and Bahati, at least, strongly support the death penalty. For Bahati, author of the bill, that goes without saying. It’s worth noting that Oyet is now formally working for Bahati – according to Oyet and Bahati, Bahati used his [Parliament] office to empower Oyet to gather signatures in support of the bill AS a government official.

5. Here’s Oyet on the death penalty: “There is not the death penalty at the end for everybody. There is the death penalty at the end for aggravated homosexuality.” He explained that the death penalty already applies for four crimes in Uganda (child rape, treason, murder, and causing death by female genital mutilation) “So I want the world to understand,” Oyet continued “that homosexuality is not the first death penalty in Uganda. I think that U.S. journalists should make that known. It is not the first one, it is going to be the fifth one.”

His rationale for the death penalty? “If the Bible supports the death penalty which is true and then you call yourself a Christian nation, listen. If I would be killed because I am dying scripturally I can repent to God before I am killed but [if] I am [eliminated] from the Earth that’s ok… if the victim confesses or repents, we can waive it off. Something like that…. In my view, homosexuals should be grateful. But instead they are not. Why I’m saying they should be grateful is because in Ugandan culture if you go and rob someone, if you go and rape a child and people find you, they will kill you.” [Here he is echoing a point made to me by many leaders of the anti-gay movement -- that the bill is for the benefit of the gays in that it protects them from mob justice, replacing it with the rule of law and a death penalty they can appeal.]

6. Oyet seems to be quite confused about what homosexuality actually is. After he explained that he was engaged in spiritual warfare with homosexuality, I asked whether he believed homosexuals are demonically possessed.

Oyet: “Um, because it is abnormal. It is abnormal sex, you would say yes. You would say yes. Because one drives you to that. Because homosexuals, they would now eat their own feces. They would eat their own waste. That is what they call golden shower where you lick the anus of someone. Isn’t that demonic?” [For Warren's more conservative readers: Yes, there are a few people, heterosexual and homosexual, who do such things, but they are A) not linked to sexual orientation; B) not harmful to anyone who minds their own business. Also, as one might guess, "golden shower" means something else.]

7. Last but not least: Oyet insisted that there are American church leaders who are supporting the bill privately but lying to the American media about it. When I asked why it was ok for them to lie, he said “I do not judge these kind of people.” True enough; he reserves his judgment for other people’s sex lives.

Rick Warren & Doug Coe "The Family" Christian Evangelicals Must Be As Dedicated as The Hitler Youth or Mao's Red Army Or Stalin's Thugs

Theology and Ideology of The 7 Mountains Spiritual Warfare cleansing the country and the world of Demonic forces and defeating the Principalities with Prayer and a few guns to Re-Christianize America.

Hitler, Striecher & Himmler? People Doug Coe & Rick Warren admire

Lou Engle & Ron Luce's Disciples fill stadiums in the Name of Jesus??? To prepare for the Coming War Preparing to retake America.
Oathkeepers is a paramilitary Nativist organization for those who are in the military or retired, National Guard, Reservist , Police , Sheriffs etc. who are armed and well trained ready to step in in case they are needed if the government goes too far or there is a break down of civil society. So militancy is spreading across America . But how dangerous is it???.

"Doug Coe ...quoted Jesus and said: One of the things [Jesus] said is 'If any man comes to me and does not hate his father, mother, brother, sister, his own life, he can't be a disciple. So I don't care what other qualifications you have, if you don't do that you can't be a disciple of Christ."

Quote about Doug Coe Extremist Rhetoric ??? He is the master mind behind the infamous Extremist Evangelical Christian Organization "The Family" aka "The Fellowship " -

It is odd how so many Conservative Evangelicals are now in tune with Doug Coe's theology/ Ideology . They too want to reChristianize America and would like to start cleaning house by getting rid of liberals, leftists, socialists from position of power and authority to be replaced by Real Christians and those in tune with Coe's disciples .
Both groups concur on their belief in the free market place and unfettered Capitalism and brand any criticism as treason , as dangerous and subversive or as being anti-American, anti-Capitalism , anti-Christian and anti-God.

Coe's group is only interested in preaching to the elite of the rich and powerful. Mean while other Evangelical preachers are marshaling a Peasant Army having spent decades preaching hate and intolerance cloaking themselves in Jesus, the Cross and the Gun and the American Flag.

A number of The Family's star Disciples are ruthless dictators killing and torturing any political opposition. Suharto of Indonesia is a favorite disciple of Doug Coe. Coe tells Suharto that his killing of a half-million of his own citizens who dared to oppose him that is voice criticism of his government . Evangelical Christians don't mind those deaths because Suharto says they were Communist, socialist, liberals and /or insurgents and terrorists. This elite treats their fellow citizens as mere pawns in their God inspired game. To show empathy especially for those not of their caliber is according to them a weakness.

The Family has been active in the US for some 60 years. It is no wonder American foreign policy is as aggressive as it is. American foreign policy is also at times contradictory, illogical, hypocritical and an enigma like the mysterious unfathomable ways of God . But whatever happens will be Jesus or God's will as interpreted by these contemporary Prophets who have like George Bush a direct line to God.

The Family is in some ways like Al Qaeda and the Taliban a death cult. But of course The Family members are told they are special they have been chosen by God . It is because they were chosen that they became successful, wealthy and powerful. They only answer to Jesus and The Family.

Rick Warren Urges Christians to Be Dedicated as Hitler Youth

Rick Warren Urges Christians to Be Dedicated as Hitler Youth #2

Compare Rick Warren's statements to the revelations made by Jeff Sharlet's expose on Doug Coe's Christian Dominionist organization "The Family" which only admits as membership those with wealth and power to act as "Stealth Warriors" or "Guerrillas" in the Christian Jihad to make as many nations as possible into "Disciple Nations" for Jesus. about Doug Coe's preaching in which he wants his followers /disciples/ Apostles to have the same dedication as those who followed Stalin, Hitler or Mao or Pol Pott Extremist Evangelical Group "The Family" AKA "The Fellowship"
"C" Street, The Cedars -as exposed by Jeff Sharlet's book "The Family"

So who is Doug Coe? He shuns almost all interview requests. But in hours of audiotape and videotape recordings obtained exclusively by NBC News, he frequently preaches the gospel of Jesus to followers and supporters. In one videotaped sermon from 1989, Coe provides this account of the atrocities committed under Chairman Mao in Communist China: "I've seen pictures of the young men in the Red Guardthey would bring in this young mans mother he would take an axe and cut her head off. They have to put the purposes of the Red Guard ahead of father, mother, brother sister and their own life. That was a covenant, a pledge. That's what Jesus said."

In his preaching, Coe repeatedly urges a personal commitment to Jesus Christ. Its a commitment Coe compares to the blind devotion that Adolph Hitler demanded from his followers -- a rhetorical technique that now is drawing sharp criticism.

"Hitler, Goebbels and Himmler were three men. Think of the immense power these three men had, these nobodies from nowhere, Coe said.

Later in the sermon, Coe said: "Jesus said, You have to put me before other people. And you have to put me before yourself.' Hitler, that was the demand to be in the Nazi party. You have to put the Nazi party and its objectives ahead of your own life and ahead of other people."

Coe also quoted Jesus and said: One of the things [Jesus] said is 'If any man comes to me and does not hate his father, mother, brother, sister, his own life, he can't be a disciple. So I don't care what other qualifications you have, if you don't do that you can't be a disciple of Christ."

Dominionism, According to Conservapedia ('Taking Nations' via 7 Mountains Not Mentioned) by Dakota O'Leary October 25, 2010 at God Discussion.com

While Conservapedia spends time characterizing any religious group or other organization that uses the term "dominionism" as extreme far left liberals, they fail to discuss the "7 Mountains Mandate" that is a cornerstone of dominionism and its various subgroups. The "7 Mountains Mandate' is a concept that has been increasingly referred to by people like Newt Gingrich, Glenn Beck, and a host of conservative Christian activists (use our search engine for more informati
on).

Let's take a look back at the Values Voter Summit to compare with Rick Warren, Peter C. Wagner, Cindy Jacobs or Coral Ridge Ministries and all those who signed onto the Lausanne Covenant and many of those who recently attended the world evangelical conference recently in South Africa and Doug Coe's The Family. The differences among these groups and individuals are bit by bit being erased. They are a real and present danger unless they they indulge in territorial fights and in fighting over leadership or disputes over obscure or controversial theological positions or just a clash of egos.

Notes from the Values Voters Summit – No to gay rights. No to reproductive choice. Yes to Christian nationalism. God Discussion Sept. 19, 2010

...Generally, the content of the summit was:

* Anti-gay because the "homosexual agenda" will take away religious liberty and destroy America;
* Anti-choice; and
* Vote Christian because we're a "Christian nation" and only Judeo-Christian values will 'turn the country around.'

A Smattering of Christian Dominionism and Christian Nationalism.

Christian nationalism was a big theme at this year's summit. According to Matthew Spalding of the Heritage Foundation, the Constitution that was dated "in the year of our Lord" was "made for moral and religious people, and none other."

Rick Santorum reiterated his September 12 speech in Houston, blasting John F. Kennedy's famous speech about the separation of church and state. Santorum thinks that there is no wall of separation and that religion should be a part of public policy, claiming that the Founding Fathers recognized that all human rights came from "the Judeo-Christian God."

When it comes to Christian dominionism, Mike Huckabee has been increasingly vocal in promoting it. Two years ago, Huckabee seemed to think it was a good idea to change the Constitution to meet "God's standards" (quoting Raw Story):

"I have opponents in this race who do not want to change the Constitution," Huckabee told a Michigan audience on Monday. "But I believe it's a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living god. And that's what we need to do — to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards rather than try to change God's standards so it lines up with some contemporary view."

Huckabee's Compassionate Pro Life Stance.

Huckabee made an impassioned plea to the "values" audience to continue to support their "pro life" values:

Allies with Gays in the Military Only Participate in Parades.

In expressing his "concerns" about the moral decline of the U.S. military if gays openly serve, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council proclaimed that "they're the ones that participate in parades, they don't fight wars to keep the nation and the world free."

In comparing such countries with a gay pride parade, Perkins ignored the fact that allies Great Britain and Australia, which contributed soldiers to the war in Iraq, allow gays to serve openly. Israel's military also permits gay and lesbian troops in its ranks. And Canada, Germany, Italy, Spain and France, all of which have troops in Afghanistan, allow gays and lesbians to serve openly.

Government Could Be Overrun by 'Atheists and Pagans.'

The ever-hateful Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association warned that unless Christians, who have made a mess out of their churches, did not clean up the mess in government, there was a danger that government could be overrun by atheists and pagans.

Tony Perkins concludes with an outright lie that no "real " ally of America allows Gays to serve openly in their respective militaries-he should know better -but most of his audience don't. They believe whatever these Uberconservative and Religious Fanatics tell them . Besides such facts are inconvenient for these bible thumping Moonbats and such facts ruins a good "Talking Point" or "Sound Bite".

The crowd at the Values Voter Summit just eat this stuff up . And really shows as Frank Schaeffer has pointed out at how angry resentful they are that somehow American society has gone in a direction which doesn't include them with their narrow minded reactionary mind-setand their White Christian Supremacist views. In their America almost everyone is a "Real Christian" and that all those in any position of authority is a "Real Christian" like Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich , Michelle Bachmann , Christine O'Donnell , Ann Coulter etc.
