Once again we have a case of the over zealous Internet Police and federal and state government agencies going after computer hackers treating their minor crimes as if they were equivalent to the committing of massive fraud or armed robbery or even manslaughter .If a hacker hacked into some company's systems and cost them millions of dollars or stole money or information from which they could make money ie corporate spying this would be a serious crime.
But if the hacker accessed information to prove the corporation was involved in crimes or was not forthright about its operations then the hacker can be characterized as a Whistleblower and therefore doing a public service revealing information which should be available to the public but which the corporation or government agency are keeping secret.
The sites Aaron Swartz hacked into decided to take no action against Aaron Swartz .
Its bloody hypocritical for these government agencies to go after a hacker who has done no real harm while they defend police brutality across the USA and allow the police to carry out illegal forced evictions of American citizens from their homes while those in authority including federal agencies coordinated and carry out a brutal crack down of Occupy protesters who were peacefully exercising their rights to protest in the public square.
America has little hesitation in silencing its own political dissidents and activists. The Occupy protesters and other American political dissidents have been cowed or bullied into silence or in the case of Bradley Manning incarcerated and physically and psychologically abused . Those in positions of authority in the U.S.A. ignore or take little legal action when American soldiers commit atrocities and other war crimes claiming that U.S. troops and personnel have no obligation to act in accordance with the Geneva Conventions and other international laws and agreements since America is a law unto itself and will do whatever the hell it wants to protect it's national security and its international interests . Meanwhile Obama drops bombs on innocent people in various countries just to show that he is as tough on America's so called enemies as any other president and rationalizing these murders as somehow related to US security .
In the case of activist and political dissident Aaron Swartz it is legitimate to ask did the the Obama administration play a role in harassing and bullying Aaron Swartz . So was Obama behind this persecution and witch hunt vilifying and demonizing a hacker or whistleblower . When it comes to spying on and harassing American political dissidents the U.S. can be compared other zealous authoritarian regimes defying human decency and democratic ideals and acting outside international laws.
The case can be to a great extent compared to the Obama administration zealousness in going after Whistleblowers and mistreating and torturing as in the case of Bradley Manning while also going after Wikileaks and Julian Assange as if Manning and Assange were America's Most Wanted and were the most dangerous people in the world . In America it is simple the 1% get a free ride and can rob their clients through fraud while demanding that the US government bail them out when things don't go the way they hoped or imagined.
So can this suicide be blamed on those in government who harassed and bullied and threatened Aaron Swartz with a prison term of thirty years for committing crimes that are actually misdemeanors .

Swartz spent the last two years fighting federal hacking charges. In the United States' crypto-dictatorship, activists are bullied by the state until they go bankrupt, are buried under a mountain of legal woes, are publicly discredited or humiliated, or as in the case of activist and Reddit co-founder Aaron Swartz, made to crack under the constant pressure, and commit suicide.
While superficially the United States may seem more progressive, a dead activist bullied to death for his political views, is a dead activist - whether it was a bullet in the back of the head by SS officers, or a mountain of litigation dumped upon someone by the US Department of Justice.
Alan Grayson discusses Governor Scott's plan to force disabled children to be kept in institutions rather than being looked after at home. This Grayson argues is cruel and sadistic and inhumane and compares Scott to the ruthless TV character Tony Soprano and the interviewer Martin Bashir goes further: " Nicolae Ceausescu in Romania [and his] treatment of disabled children there, which started in the 1970s, where they were hidden and housed in the most appalling conditions. Now, of course, that an extreme example. But is this his preference for disabled children in America in 2013, that you simply house these disabled children in facilities away from their families?"
Governor Scott wants to return to the time when fifty or more years ago the disabled were wharehoused and kept out of sight and mind.
My other concern is to find out whether Gov Scott wants to set up such homes as private enterprises which he and or some of his cronies can invest in. We have see this in the case privatizing schools and prisons in America.

Phony Fiscal Cliff Deficit is just a scare tactic to justify Unnecessary cuts to programs . So rather than raise taxes on those earning $250,000 and /or the rich 1% the Republicans and the Democrats led by President Obama would prefer to cut needed programs. In other words what advancements that have been made to take care of those in need are to be rolled back based upon neoconservative and neoliberal ideologies . Besides refusing to increase taxes by a modest amount both parties refuse to put military spending cuts on the table. In fact Obama is increasing the budgets for the military and the intelligence and national security industry .

"I remember how, in my village, a drone attack killed my brother-in-law and four of his friends. It was truly sad. A beautiful life was buried and the sound of crying and sorrow arose from peaceful homes. I say that this is inhumane. Today, the idea of humanity has been forgotten. Why do we spend money like this? Why don't we use an alternative way? The international community says that drones are used to kill the Taliban. This is not true. We should see the truth. Today, it's hard to find the truth and no one listens to the people.

In deciding what should be done about the so-called 'fiscal cliff' what Obama and other leaders are saying is that the choice is clear to them to expand the American Empire while cutting back on social programs using the dubious threat to US security by terrorists working out of various countries.
The problem is that the more military and black ops interventions and the more innocent civilians are killed by the U.S. and NATO forces the more blowback occurs whether it is the attacking of American embassies or attacking US troops and those who are allied to the U.S.A. or planning attacks on the American Homeland . The negative attitudes towards America and NATO and the West in general has only grown since 9/11 but America's leaders never learn from their errors in foreign policy and so America and the West finds itself committed to perpetual war. One should ask is this desire to bomb more countries and thereby either deliberately or inevitably due to the so-called 'Fog Of War' kill more innocent civilians.
The U.S. leaders and the Mainstream Media have no real inclination in reporting or discussing the actual death toll of innocent civilians wherever the U.S. is directly involved militarily or in those countries where the U.S. uses proxies to do the killing for them which include so-called freedom fighters such as the Mujaheddin in Syria or Libya or in the past in the fight against the Soviet Occupation of Afghanistan in the 1980s .
We can also add numerous other examples about how the self-defeating short term American foreign policy objectives and agenda often turns out to be. In the 1980s the U.S. encouraged and supported by various means Saddam's war bloody and disastrous and pointless war on Iran. Iran was not the belligerent party in this war but was rather Saddam supported by the U.S. and other western powers who decided to take advantage of the political situation of unrest to attack Iran after the Fall of the American dictator and puppet The Shah Of Iran .
The U.S. hated the Iranian government and the Iranian people who dared to oust one of America's favorite brutal dictators and then to hold a number of Americans hostage in the American Embassy which was seen as a humiliating situation for the U.S.A . It is this sense of humiliation and a blow to America's honor and a defiance to its political and military hegemony. Empire do not tolerate any challenge to their authority or its legitimacy.
Otherwise Iran had done nothing to harm the USA or Iraq or Israel and yet Iran was characterized as an evil rogue state which was an existential threat to Israel and the West. And this hatred towards Iran and its government and any who support it has continues and the actions of the U.S. government and military since 9/11 has been to use this horrible crime against humanity as an excuse to take down any government which did or might give support to Iran. America and its allies are setting the stage to eliminate Iran as any sort of threat to the U.S. or to Israel. Their plan is to eventually bomb and possibly invade Iran once Iran is isolated and weakened enough by America's and the West inhumane blockade and sanctions against Iran. America's leaders including President Obama will not listen to reason in this case and will use any excuse to destroy Iran as it did Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria etc.
