And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
President Obama announces his plans for better gun control and notes that since the Sandyhook Massacre a month ago another 900 American citizens have died due to gun violence. Meanwhile the NRA and pro-gun and anti-Obama crowd are dismissive of those 900 who were killed claiming they are merely collateral damage as an unintended consequence of keeping faith with the 2nd Amendment which they as we have siad before they treat as God's eleventh Commandment as handed down to Moses. ie thou shalt carry assault weapons wherever thou goeth or what have you.

900 more American citizens have been the victims of gun violence in America
Since the Sandyhook elimentary school massacre even many gun enthusiasts have stepped up to the plate saying enough is enough and that the USA needs improved and enforceable laws restricting the purchasing and the owning of fire arms.
But as we noted Jon Stewart pointed out on his program that there are in fact sensible laws on the books regarding gun control but over the last two decades the NRA and other pro-gun groups and individuals have made these laws unenforceable and have rendered the gun regulatory government department The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms utterly toothless. So who's running the show it seems to be the NRA and the Arms Industry and their merchants of death.
NRA ad goes way over the top and seems almost a veiled threat to President Obama and his family.
Color of Change.org has put up a petition to ban the airing of the NRA's outrageous pro-gun ad which appears to be a threat or ultimatum that Obama agree to NRA's demands or do without the protection of the Secret Service for him and his family.
Stop the NRA's attacks on the First Family
The National Rifle Association (NRA) is pushing an outrageous new 30-second ad branding President Obama an "elitist hypocrite" for expressing skepticism over its proposal to put a gun in every school — and dragging the president's children into the gun violence debate. Please join us to demand that television executives refuse to air this indefensible attack ad.
Here's the contents of the petition which can be viewed and signed at Color of Change website.
Dear network executives:And now an example of NRA pro-gun anti-Obama anti-gun control pornography .
I urge you to refuse to air the new ad released by the National Rifle Association (NRA), which uses the national debate over gun violence to launch a dangerous personal attack on President Obama and his family.
The ad references President Obama's public statement that he's "skeptical" about the NRA claim that putting armed officers or guards in every American school will actually protect our kids from gun violence. But then the ad goes on to drag the president's children into the debate — suggesting that Sasha and Malia shouldn't be afforded a Secret Service detail unless Mr. Obama gets on board with the NRA's ill-conceived agenda.
This is a troubling new low that should raise serious concerns among you, your company, and your colleagues. Presidential families — and particularly the president's children — have historically been considered off limits for political attacks.
By refusing to air this inexcusable ad, your network can signal that it will not be party to an effort to whip up anger and paranoia targeting the President at the expense of meaningful public discourse on gun violence.
Morning Joe Panelist Calls NRA Ad On First Daughters 'Pornography'
Published on 16 Jan 2013
The National Rifle Association continued its headlong rush into political radioactivity by putting out an incredibly stupid, offensive ad in which they slam President Obama for sending his kids to a school with armed police officers, while expressing skepticism about the NRA's plan to require armed security in every school. On Wednesday morning's Morning Joe, panelist Mike Barnicle went so far as to call the ad "pornography," while co-host Mika Brzezinski called the NRA leadership "sick in the head."
Republican Tim Donnelly argues that God is in favor of Christians being armed and ready to defend themselves or others.
This ignores Jesus' teachings that violence is never a solution and he advocates 'turning the other cheek' and to not hate one's enemies but in fact to follow the more difficult path of 'loving one's enemies' .
King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.) Mathew 25:40.
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
and: King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.) Mathew 5:39
But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.) Mathew 5: 44
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.) Luke 6:35.
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.) Leviticus 19:18.
Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.
King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.) Micah 4:3
And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Crazy Right Wing Pastor's Insane Rant on Newtown School Shooting
Published on 16 Jan 2013
We thought we'd put this one up on YouTube. A few weeks ago, we discovered the wonderful pastor of "Old Paths Baptist Church" in Tennessee, Sam Morris. He had a lot to say about the Newtown school shooting, like it happened because of evolution and homosexuals...

So besides advocating against violence Jesus would not defend the so-called Global War on Terror' that is if one is to take the teachings of the Nazarene to heart and not merely pay lip service to his teachings. Very few Christians in fact adhere to Jesus teachings on this issue or many others including protecting the powerless and the poor and the sick , the disabled from those with power. To paraphrase Jesus 'What you do to the least of these you do unto me".
Tim Donnelly while advocating that the right to bear arms is sacrosanct he himself ignores laws requiring gun licenses and permits and has ignored regulations that make it illegal to carry a gun onto a plane.
Tim Donnelly, Republican Legislator, Says Guns Are 'Essential To Living The Way God Intended' By Cavan Sieczkowski, Huffington Post,Jan. 18, 2013
A California Republican legislator, who is a vocal opponent of President Barack Obama's gun control proposal, believes that guns are "essential to living the way God intended."
Assemblyman Tim Donnelly called in to the AM740 KBRITE Christian radio show, "The Bottom Line," to discuss gun control on Wednesday, when he revealed that he believes firearms are part of God's plan.
“Guns are used an average of 3 million times a year according to the Clinton Justice Department,” Donnelly said via RawStory. “That’s like 6,900 times a day. That’s the high end of the statistics. Other people say it’s only 200 times a day. Whatever that number is, they are used to defend human life. They are used to defend our property and our families and our faith and our freedom, and they are absolutely essential to living the way God intended for us to live.”
Annie-Rose Strasser of ThinkProgress notes that Donnelly's "God and guns" argument can be disputed by Bible verses pointing to the notion that "life should focus on family, not firearms."
Isaiah 2:4, for example, reads thus: “He shall judge between the nations, and shall decide disputes for many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore."
Many religious people have mobilized against guns recently. On Jan. 15, a group of 45 clergy and heads of religious organizations headed to Capitol Hill to petition lawmakers to reinstitute a ban on assault weapons, require background checks and make illegal weapons trafficking a federal crime.
(and what is disturbing about Donnelly is that he is no true believer in the rule of law and ignores laws which he finds inconvenient.)
...As for Donnelly, he does not only advocate for guns, but he has also been know to carry them. Illegally.
Last January, he was detained by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for trying to bring a loaded Colt .45 handgun with four rounds onto a flight, the Associated Press reported. The gun was discovered in the Christian legislator's carry-on bag as he went through screening at Ontario International Airport. A magazine with five additional rounds was also found.
Donnelly didn't have a permit to carry a concealed weapon, permission he should have obtained from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, according to the AP. He claimed he had the gun with him because of death threats he had previously received.
and so it goes,
GORD.
