Wikileaks Master Card Parody
Note it is really really disappointing that President Obama has stooped to demonizing Julian Assange and Wikileaks and maybe secretly planing to assinate Julian Assange or any employees or supporters of Wikileaks.
During his campaign in 2008 Obama promised the enactment of better laws to protect Whistleblower but what his supporters didn't realize that he meant the enacting of stricter and more draconian laws to suppress Whistleblowers.
Chris Hedges commenting about the reality of what crimes were committed by the USA during its 9 year Occupation of Iraq reminds us that those incarcerated in iraq at Abu Ghraib and other prisons included mostly harmless and innocent people .
Americans are still in denial over the extent of the Iraq war which led to the murder of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis. Though many Americans couldn't care less because the government and Media's propaganda informs the American public that these people are not like us that is Americans.
The American and Western public are told over and over again that these peoples can be characterized as a bunch of ignorant savages whom they refer to as "HAJIS" and so like other such peoples or groups throughout American history they are seen as "The Other" as barbaric, savage who do not respect human life for example other groups demonized included Native Americans, African-slaves , Catholics, the Irish immigrants in America and Jews and Asians Chinese and Japanese, Philippinos, Hispanics, etc. are seen as Subhuman. How else can one butcher hundreds of thousands with impunity so the Enemy must be marginalized, demonized but seen as devious and duplicitious ashaving no honor no shame who like mad dogs must be put down or at least tamed and domesticated to be more compliant with those who are their natural superiours.
"... (Iraqi) mothers who were arrested with their young sons, often children, watched in horror as their boys were repeatedly sodomized. This was filmed. And on the soundtrack you hear the boys shrieking. And the mothers were smuggling notes out to their families saying, “Come and kill us because of what is happening.” "GOP and other Conservatives Hate with a passion Jesus' Sermon On The Mount
Chris Hedges : Occupy AIPAC Protest ---AIPAC is part of the 1% made up big business interests, Neoconservatives and the Religious Right and backed by the current government of Netanyahu but does not necessarily reflect the views of all Israelis .
#OWS update
Obama to avoid protesters has moved the G8 summit from Chicago to Camp David. Obama does not want to be embarassed by US citizens expressing their grievances to their government by using their freedom of speech , the freedom of assemply.
These freedoms are only alowed when the US government and its handlers on Wall Street give the go ahead. It appears the massive rallies which have taken place in New York and Oakland etc. have forced Obama to take these protests seriously and fears they might have some influence over these world leaders.
God forbid these leaders be forced to hear the grievances of American citizens or those of their own countries. Their response to this still growing movement will be met even more police state tactics . Meanwhile the Compliant Media will of course side with their super-rich owners.
Obama's second strategy to undermine the Occupy movement and any of his critics by putting America on high alert over Iran and that War supposedly with Iran is inevitable. Once War is declared officially or unofficially President Obama will be transformed into the Cammander in Chief who answers to no one and can silence and round up any who dare criticize Obama or his policy of Perpetual War.
If Obama were interested seriously in a diplomatic solution he would go himself to Iran or send Biden and Clinton but he does not really want a diplomatic settlement because the Hawks in both parties would construe it as "appeasement" and the spectre of Neville Chamberlain versus Winston Churchill will be invoked.
Those who dare defend the Iranian peoples will be considered traitors as were those who objected to the Iraq and Libyan wars .
Arguing over whether or not Iran is a threat to continental USA or Israel is not the point. The strategy is to turn all of the Middle East into a battle field while the US and its corporations feed on the oil and other resources which America believes is their God Given Right. God they believe is truly on America's side and whatever America does or doesn't do is by definition a result of Divine Providence or a matter of Natural Law in which the superior nation or peoples shall prevail against all those who are inferior by definition because they are not part of Western Civilization or more to the point not "Real Americans".
Obama wants to prove to the American people that he is a bonified God fearing Gun Totting Real American who believes in American Exceptionalism and American superiority.
AIPAC Works for the 1 Percent by Chris Hedges Truthdig via CommonDreams March 5,2012
Chris Hedges gave this talk Saturday night in Washington, D.C., at the Occupy AIPAC protest, organized by CODEPINK Women for Peace and other peace, faith and solidarity groups.
The battle for justice in the Middle East is our battle. It is part of the vast, global battle against the 1 percent. It is about living rather than dying. It is about communicating rather than killing. It is about love rather than hate. It is part of the great battle against the corporate forces of death that reign over us—the fossil fuel industry, the weapons manufacturers, the security and surveillance state, the speculators on Wall Street, the oligarchic elites who assault our poor, our working men and women, our children, one in four of whom depend on food stamps to eat, the elites who are destroying our ecosystem with its trees, its air and its water and throwing into doubt our survival as a species
...We have not brought freedom, democracy and the virtues of Western civilization to the Muslim world. We have brought state terrorism, massive destruction, war and death. There is no moral distinction between a drone strike and the explosion of the improvised explosive device, between a suicide bombing and a targeted assassination. We have used the iron fist of the American military to implant our oil companies in Iraq, occupy Afghanistan and ensure that the Muslim world remains submissive and compliant. We have supported a government in Israel that has carried out egregious war crimes in Lebanon and Gaza and is daily stealing larger and larger portions of Palestinian land.
We have established a network of military bases, some the size of small cities, in Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Kuwait, and we have secured basing rights in the Gulf states of Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and the United Arab Emirates. We have expanded our military operations to Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Egypt, Algeria and Yemen. And no one believes, except perhaps us, that we have any intention of leaving.
And let us not forget that deep inside our secret world of offshore penal colonies, black sites, and torture and interrogation centers, we practice the cruelty and barbarity that always accompanies unchecked imperial power.
There were scores of graphic pictures and videos from the prison in Abu Ghraib that were swiftly classified and hidden from public view. And in these videos, as Seymour Hersh reported, mothers who were arrested with their young sons, often children, watched in horror as their boys were repeatedly sodomized. This was filmed. And on the soundtrack you hear the boys shrieking. And the mothers were smuggling notes out to their families saying, “Come and kill us because of what is happening.”
AG Holder Defends Govt's "Chillingly Broad Claimed Authority to Conduct Targeted Killings"
US Set to Outline Justification for 'Targeted Assassination'
- Common Dreams staff CommonDreams.org,March 5,2012
UPDATE: US Attorney General Eric Holder today defended the government's targeted assassination program as legal.Iran, Threats and the UN Charter by Glenn Greenwald Salon.com via Commondreams.org,March 4,2012
"Given the nature of how terrorists act and where they tend to hide, it may not always be feasible to capture a United States citizen terrorist who presents an imminent threat of violent attack."
"In that case, our government has the clear authority to defend the United States with lethal force."
TPM adds that Holder stated the targets were given "due process:"
The Obama administration believes that executive branch reviews of evidence against suspected al-Qaeda leaders before they are targeted for killing meet the constitution’s “due process” requirement and that American citizenship alone doesn’t protect individuals from being killed, Attorney General Eric Holder said in a speech Monday.
“Due process and judicial process are not one and the same, particularly when it comes to national security,” Holder said. “The Constitution guarantees due process, not judicial process.”
Hina Shamsi, director of the American Civil Liberties Union’s National Security Project, commented on the speech:
“While the speech is a gesture towards additional transparency, it is ultimately a defense of the government’s chillingly broad claimed authority to conduct targeted killings of civilians, including American citizens, far from any battlefield without judicial review or public scrutiny. Few things are as dangerous to American liberty as the proposition that the government should be able to kill citizens anywhere in the world on the basis of legal standards and evidence that are never submitted to a court, either before or after the fact. Anyone willing to trust President Obama with the power to secretly declare an American citizen an enemy of the state and order his extrajudicial killing should ask whether they would be willing to trust the next president with that dangerous power.”
The Washington Post‘s David Ignatius [on Saturday] persuasively argues that President Obama, in his interview with The Atlantic‘s Jeffrey Goldberg, issued his most absolute and inflexible threat yet to attack Iran — not if Iran attacks or is about to attack another country, but merely if it appears to be developing a nuclear weaponThe Declining Influence of the US Constitution Losing ground to constitutional competition
by Joel S. Hirschhorn CommonDreams.org March 3.2012
Among Americans there remains strong pride about the US Constitution, even though there is widespread support for creating reform amendments to it. Globally, however, what should surprise Americans is a significant loss of respect for it. Other nations, especially those creating new democracies, see better constitutions elsewhere. This is not opinion. It is fact. And it is important to understand this historic shift
