First the Oakland Police turned violent to stop 99% protesters then "agent Provcateurs " either "radical Anarchists " or undercover police turned to violence.
Hartmann: Your Take/My Take - Proof the Oakland Police in infiltrating OWSALLAWARE99
Protesters have been accused of committing acts of violence but the truth is slightly different because it was a small group mainly radical anarchists such as the Black Bloc who infiltrated the protests in order to commit acts of violence and to agitate to get the police to become more violent. These trouble makers do not represent the majority of those taking part in Occupy protests in Oakland or anywhere else in America.
It of course maybe that the Occupy Movement should do more to distance themselves from those intent on being violent.
They should I believe ban people wearing masks or covering their faces with scarves. Scarves are only needed when being tear gassed but not for hiding one's identity.
Sincere well- intentioned protesters are willing to show their faces .
The Occupy movement must be more willing to negotiate with the police over the issue of these violent unwanted disruptive protesters.
So when protesters become violent pass the message on through the people's Mic /Mic Check and the pass it on to the police while moving peaceful participants away from these agitators -they may be who they say they are but they could also be hired or even police "Agent Provocateurs.
These people are often easily identified by the covering of their faces and wearing a lot of black looking a lot like the Ninja's they think they are. But in fact they are cowards because they are unwilling to reveal their faces publicly and will do all they can to resist being arrested.
Surely if you believe in a cause you should remove masks and scarves and be willing to be jailed for your actions instead of letting those who are peaceful to be unjustly arrested for your actions. This is just an act of cowardice and a refusal to take responsibility for your actions.
Be violent if you want but be willing to take the lumps and the arrests.
And be cautioned that violence will not bring about positive change because your violent acts make it impossible for a reasonable dialogue to take place . The police will take you and your actions seriously but will ignore your message. Martin Luther King and other non-violent leaders would not be proud of your actions.
Man tackles bank smasher at Occupy Oakland General Strike
Uploaded by andrewstelzer on Nov 4, 2011Out of roughly 1,000 people on an anti-capitalist march in Oakland, CA, a few started smashing bank windows. This man tackled one of them, after he smashed a window at City National Bank on Webster street. I asked him why-I was reporting for KQED radio that day.See more of my videos for more of the General Strike, and other protests. November 2, 2011.
Occupy Oakland Video: Protester shot with rubber bullet for filming cops

The video of an Occupy Oakland protester shot by police has been made available, showing perhaps the most outrageous act of overzealous law enforcement action in the weeks since the movement began.
An unnamed protester rallying in Oakland, California last week during the city's General Strike managed to be rolling film as he approached a gauntlet of riot gear-clad police officers lined across a city street. Filming their motionless blockage of the road, the videographer asks the cops, "Is this okay?" several times as he paces from one side of the road to the other, camera in hand.
The narrator of the footage appears peaceful and calm as he walks around 20 feet away from the police during the course of the 40 second clip in which he at no point attempts to provoke the officers. The footage is cut short, however, after a burst of light is seen exploding from the array of law enforcement followed immediately by the cameraman falling to the ground.
The exact projectile fired by the cops has not been identified, though the man was believed to be hit by either a beanbag or a non-lethal rubber bullet round.
Cenk Uygur at The Young Turks is upset that the Mainstream Media ignored or down played the numbers of people who took part in the Oakland shut down the port march. The MSM claimed there were at most ten thousand protesters when in fact it is clear that there were 50,000 to 100,000 protesters.
The treatment of the Mainstream Media of these protests is rather different from the MSM's coverage of The Tea Party protests. Mainstream Media and Fox News especially covered Tea Party protests even when the crowd was only a couple of hundred . But of course The Tea Party is anti-Obama and anti-the Democrats but pro-rich.
Occupy Oakland Attendance Buried By MSM

Why did most media outlets severely underestimate the number of protesters at Occupy Oakland? The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur was there and he sets the record straight.

Oakland General Strike crowd count massively wrong: it's not 7,000, but 100,000.
Uploaded by TheSecretStore on Nov 3, 2011100,000 source ( San Francisco Chronicle): Oakland's Interim Police Chief Howard Jordan (a capable and politically smart leader in a tough position) got the Occupy Oakland General Strike crowd count massively wrong: it's not 7,000, but 100,000. http://blog.sfgate.com/abraham/2011/11/03/occupy-oakland-strike-draws-100000-...
Absolutely enormous crowd hit the street in Oakland in support of Oakland. They took over a highway; there's got to be a good 100,000 people there.
Sam Seder at MajorityFM.com blames violence not just on Black Bloc agitators but also on the escalation of violence by the Oakland police over a week before.
He argues that once the Oakland police force decided to use massive amounts of tear gas, rubber bullets, flash bang grenades and beating up peaceful protesters this led some on the otherside to believe that they too could use violence against the police and also damaging private property.
The violent protesters are mainly members of radical anarchist groups such as the Black Bloc and represent a tiny fraction of protesters -that is out of thousands of protesters a couple of hundred have taken part in violence.
Over and over against the Occupy Movement has condemned these violent folk.
Last year we saw the "black bloc" anarchist went on a rampage during the protests during the G20 summit in Toronto there were also undercover police officers who either took part in violent activities or were inciting others to commit violent acts.
During those protests when peaceful non-violent protesters complained about the "black Bloc" and tried to get the police to intervene the police refused.
From the point of view of the police and those in authority the more violent acts committed they could then justify their draconian brutal unnecessary crackdown on peaceful protesters even when the protesters were trying to comply with police orders.
For instance the police would tell protesters to leave an area but they couldn't because they were surrounded and blocked by other police from doing so.
In that protest the police even beat up peaceful protesters who sat down in the street and were singing Canada's national anthem.
