Tom Joad's (Henry Fonda) speech in the 1940 film of Steinbeck's novel The Grapes of Wrath -this speech scares those with power, wealth and authority. It did then and it does now. Joad realizes that praying and hoping when the game is rigged as it is now is not enough. Action he knows is needed. Does the US belong to the 1% and their enablers or does America belong to all of the citizens of America.Corporations can have their profits but they must play by the rules and to pay their fair share of taxes instead of hiring lawyers to avoid paying taxes.

Those in America and the Media who are doing well have little or no regard or sympathy or empathy for those who have lost their jobs who have lost their home who are faced with crushing debt who have lost all hope.
To the privileged they dismiss the protesting and complaining as mere envy or jealousy and the privileged believe the lower classes are there just to serve them and to be happy for the crumbs from the rich man's table.

The Great of 1929 destroyed the lives of thousands of U.S. citizens, its effects stretching as far as Europe. Bruce Springsteen's song "The Ghost of Tom Joad" from his third and most successful album "Born to Run" describes the aftermath of the crash, and the now poverty-stricken, depressed and desperate people of America.

Olsen was upgraded from critical to stable condition, but he still remains in the hospital. Also US veterans are taking part in the movement because they've been hit harder than the average population in this economy. Matt Howard with Iraq Veterans Against the War joins the show
