Obama Doubles Down: Pushes 1967 Border Plan at AIPAC 2011



Daring to say this to AIPAC might just mean that he is sincere.

But will President Obama eventually back-track or add a host of qualifications so that no such serious negotiations take place ???

Or is this the first salvo in his re-election plan
maybe as before with the presidents that came before will he send top secret cables reassuring Israel

Fox News Hannity and favorite IslamophobeBrigitte Gabriel go ballistic that Obama would dare insist on a two state solution .
This is a bit of an over-reaction as Obama has been bending over backwards or has remained silent over issues such as the inhumane blockade of Gaza and Israel's "Cast Lead" invasion and bombing of Gaza or Israe's IDF illegal attack in international waters on the Free Gaza Flotilla last year killing 9 activists. This was a criminal act and an act of piracy. Obama has said little about the evicting of Arabs out of their homes in East Jerusalem or even last weeks announcement by the Israeli governemt of plans for an additional 1500 homes for the Settlers inthe Occupied territories .
Nor has Obama publicly criticized Israel for its Apartheid style state with a thousand check points and a massive wall to lock the Palestinians in their Bantustan lands and Jim Crow laws or their cutting off 50,000 Gazans from their jobs in Israel.

Everyday thousands of Palistians are humiliated by IDF soldiers at checkpoints.
If Obama was honest with Israel he would be criticizing Israel every time they beat up or shoot or kill peaceful protesters or just Palestinian children on their way to school.

Sean Hannity reverts to this old ploy of making far too many demands before the two sides can even meet and begin negotiations .

Brigitte Gabriel is angry at Pres. Obama saying he is throwing Israel under the bus. As soon as anyone dares criticize Israel by even implying that Israel may not be acting reasonably in regards to the Palestinians or that both sides share some of the blame for the current situation then of course one is then branded as being an enemy of Israel and even anti-Israel and by extension the sufggestion would be being accused of anti-semitism.

Over the weekend, it was also revealed that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) paid a notorious Islamophobe $5,000 for a recent appearance at a conference sponsored by the South Dakota Department of Public Safety (DPS).

The speaker, Walid Shoebat, claims "Islam is the devil" and that President Obama is a Muslim. Shoebat once told a Missouri newspaper that he sees "many parallels between the Antichrist and Islam" and "Islam is not the religion of God -- Islam is the devil." In a letter sent today to Secretary Napolitano, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad wrote in part:

"The use and funding of Islamophobic private trainers harms our nation's safety and security and contradicts both DHS policy and your public statements on improving relations with the American Muslim community. Promoting anti-Muslim hostility only serves to tear down hard-won trust and spread unjustified fear and suspicion.

"The fact that repeated calls for government investigations of this disturbing trend have gone unanswered sends a very negative message to American Muslims and to the larger society.

"Islamophobic trainers are undercutting your efforts and those of President Obama, who repeatedly states that our nation is not at war with Islam or Muslims."

CAIR has in the past called on the Obama administration, DHS, the Department of Defense, and Congress to provide oversight for apparently widespread anti-Muslim bias in the training of law enforcement and security and military personnel nationwide.

Last year, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) acknowledged that an anti-Islam film should not have been used in training offered to security personnel by that military law enforcement agency.

CAIR contacted NCIS after receiving a report that a three-day NCIS surveillance detection course at the U.S. Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C., included the viewing of a propagandistic anti-Islam film.
