Cheney Once Again Admits to and Defends The Use of Torture & Neoconservatives Still Linking Saddam to 9/11 While They Search For His WMDS

UPDATE: 2:05 PM , March 16, 2009

Anyway Dick Cheney appeared on CNN on Sunday and admitted to using torture and defended it's use. Once again this counts as another public confession. Therefore the evidence is overwhelming that he and Bush are criminals and ought to be charged , arrested and put behind bars for the rest of their lives.

But at the very least Cheney, Bush and other members of the Bush administration should not be permitted to enter our country Canada that is or any other country which agreed to a ban on torture and who have signed onto to other International Agreements including the Geneva Conventions.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper by allowing Bush and others into Canada is breaking Canadian law as well as International Laws. The so called Loyal opposition should be voicing strong opinions on this matter rather than remaining silent. So where is the outrage from Cnadian citizens or the Cnadian Press and media.

Note once again Cheney admits to be the architect of policies which included the use of torture.

CNN and Cheney and US Mainstream Media still Fear Mongering and attacking President Obama claiming he is making the US less safe.

Cheney claims all that the Bush administration did was necessary and was lawful. Well that's quite a stretch but John King doesn't argue about this but accepts everything Cheney says as Gospel as CNN and other Us Networks have done since Bush came to office in 2001. As we now know these programs were not in fact legal but were given the veneer of legality to quiet any criticisms. They were also not constitutional and undermined the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights and went against International Law.He also defends the Invasion and conquest and occupation of Iraq even though it violated International Law .

Cheney: Obama has made America 'less safe'-March 15, 2009 CNN

Cheney still Fear Mongering and claims that the Bush 's administrations use of torture was a good thing. Yet he refuses to detail what attacks on the US were prevented claiming they are state secrets which cannot be revealed.

Obama policies make U.S. less safe: Cheney Sunday, March 15, 2009
CBC News.ca

The former U.S. vice-president is accusing President Barack Obama of making the country less safe.

Dick Cheney said in a Cable News Network interview Sunday he thinks it's a bad idea to ban waterboarding, close the Guantanamo Bay detention centre in Cuba and stop labelling detainees as enemy combatants.

Cheney said those controversial moves by the administration of George W. Bush helped stop a long list of attacks against the United States.

Many people have called the programs unconstitutional, but when Cheney was asked if he thought Obama has made Americans less safe by cancelling them, he replied, "I do."

"I think those programs were absolutely essential to the success we enjoyed of being able to collect the intelligence that let us defeat all further attempts to launch attacks against the United States since 9/11," he said.

"I think that's a great success story. It was done legally. It was done in accordance with our constitutional practices and principles," he said. "President Obama campaigned against it all across the country. And now he is making some choices that, in my mind, will, in fact, raise the risk to the American people of another attack."

Cheney said specific attacks were stopped, but added he could not talk about them because the intelligence gathered through the anti-terror programs remains classified.

Cheney is back to lead the GOP attack on Obama by joe Sudbay at Americablog.com March 15, 2009

As predicted, Dick Cheney is using his CNN appearance and using CNN's host, John King, to bash the Obama administration. CNN had promised to keep the Obama administration "honest" during pre-inauguration advertising. I found that almost hysterical since CNN never kept the Bush administration honest -- especially when John King was their gung-ho White House reporter.

Anyway the apologists and cheerleaders of the Bush Regime are at it again in a full media blitz to again attempt to justify going to war with Iraq. Well it wasn't much of a war. First the Americans after reducing Iraq to a shadow of its former self after ten years of sanctions they then attacked using 9/11 , WMDS and ties to Al Qaeda as pretenses or rationalizations for what they had planned to do all along even before the events of 9/11. They then destroyed much of Iraq's infrastructure which contravened International Laws. They claimed they would be greeted as liberators if so then why did the US treat the Iraqis as enemies and show them little or no respect.

The American people not being a very thoughtful people were convinced that a president never lies except when it comes to sex believed Bush, Cheney & co. Besides they said all these things on TV and no one ever lies on TV or even in newspapers . Well Clinton lied about sex, Nixon lied about Watergate and the massive bombings of Cambodia during the Vietnam War while Reagan the Conservative Saint lied about Iran-Contra. Johnson lied about how bad things were going in Vietnam.

The belief that Saddam was tied to Al Qaeda and the 9/11 attack is still held by a large proportion of Americans. How does one go about changing such views ? The TV networks still accept the basic lies and propaganda that Bush and co. fed them for the past eight years or so. Maybe if Obama would state clearly that the Bush Regime ran an unethical if not illegal propaganda campaign to convince the American people that there was evidence linking Saddam, Al Qaeda and 9/11 or that Saddam was about to launch a massive attack on America or possibly on Israel.

First a bit more on Seymour Hersh's accusations of an assassination squad set up by Bush and Cheney.

Countdown: Cheney's Secret Assassination Ring-March 12, 2009

Keith talks to Howard Fineman about Seymour Hersh's claim that Cheney was running a secret assassination ring.

Meanwhile the Neoconservatives and Bushites are still hard at work rewriting history. They are claiming once again that Saddam had something to do with 9/11. They further claim Saddam was building nuclear weapons and other WMDs in order to attack America. When will the lying stop.

Bush Finally Admits No Saddam 9/11 Connection
April 1, 2007

Yet the world acts as if Bush and company were or are these wonderful statesmen who only did what was good for the American people. In Calgary this week Conservative Canadians will welcome Bush as a hero and according to them one of the Great Men of history who saved the West from Saddam.

But the evidence shows this was for the most part nonsense based upon cooked-up cherry-picked Intel to convince the US Congress and the American people and the UN to allow the US to invade and occupy a sovereign nation.
Hard to believe that even six years later the Neocons are still trying to spread their propaganda and lies.

Fleischer doesn't want to talk about the economic meltdown which did occur on Bush's watch after he had been president for eight years. The meltdown occurred before Obama became president.

Fleischer and other Bush cheerleaders still believe that they were justified in attacking Iraq and Afghanistan. But further they argue that the abuse and torture of POWs was justified from waterboarding to sleep dprivation to sexual humiliation to using razor blades to cut a detainees penis . Were these things necessary or just the fulfillment of their perverted Power Fantasies .

Odd even Chris Mathews seems to suggest that we have to wait for History's judgement. But then in an act of redemption he says to Fleischer that the American people don't like that kind of talk. Check out this clip

Fleischer: How Dare You Say 9/11 Happened On Our Watch
Chris Mathews on Hard Ball

and compare this clip on no connection between Saddam and Al Qaeda :

Senate investigation finds no Iraq/al Qaeda link EITHER

First, no Iraq/911 link, now the Senate Select Commitee on Intelligence reveals they found NO connection between Saddam and al Qaeda either... one of President Bush's continuing arguments for invading Iraq despite conceding no Iraq/911 connection. In fact, Saddam distrusted bin Laden.

For fun watch Cheney- Who's confused ?

and here's a more recent revelation of what was going on behind the scenes when Bush , Cheney Rumsfeld and Condoleeza Rice were fabricating a case against Saddam so they could attack Iraq and take out the man who tried to kill Bush's Daddy. But will the Neocons or the Bush lovers accept this information as reliable. No they have through the use of their propaganda and their access to TV networks created an alternative history and an alternative reality which has been seen through by some Americans but as we see on Fox News and CNN etc. there are those who have been deluded and are unable or unwilling to come to grips with reality. The reality is that Bush and company played the American people as fools . One can see the arrogance in Cheney evil grin knowing he has literally gotten away with murder.

Secret Emails Show Iraq Dossier Was 'Sexed Up'Intelligence chiefs criticised 'iffy drafting' of key document By Nigel Morris, Deputy Political Editor March 13, 2009 "The Independent"

-- Secret Whitehall emails released yesterday provide damning new evidence that the notorious dossier making the case for invading Iraq was "sexed up". They disclose that the intelligence services were sceptical over the "iffy drafting" of government claims that Saddam Hussein could mount a missile strike on his neighbours within 45 minutes of ordering an attack.

Officials privately mocked assertions that the Iraqi president was covertly trying to develop a nuclear capability and wisecracked that perhaps he had recruited "Dr Frankenstein" to his supposed crack team of nuclear scientists.

The release of a series of confidential memos and emails, following a protracted Freedom of Information battle, reignited the controversy over accusations that Tony Blair's government "spun" Britain into war.

Last night both the Tories and the Liberal Democrats renewed their demands for a full public inquiry into the decision to join the US-led invasion of Iraq.
