Obama's critics and their Media embedded attack dogs continue to snarl and foam at the mouth with their fact-challenged attacks on him and his administration and his policies. Obama Accepts Joe Wilson's Apology

Wilson called Obama a liar during Obama's speech. Obama in accepting Joe Wilson's apology skillfully uses this opportunity to chastise the media for paying too much attention to the loudest and shrillest voices rather than dealing seriously with an issue. The media was as much to blame for the ongoing mob like atmosphere at Town Hall Meetings as were the Republicans and conservatives and the employees in the health insurance industry who were encouraged and cajoled into taking part in these Town Halls by shouting people down and acting not as responsible citizens but as agitators .



Joe Wilson wasn't the only Republican who acted in a disrespectful and confrontational and hostile manner during Obama's speech as Ryan Grim points out.

...Wilson's wasn't the only disruption, though it was the most extreme. Throughout the speech, Republican members of Congress repeatedly held up stacks of papers that appeared to represent ideas they had for the bill.

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) held signs that read "What Bill?" and "What Plan?"

When Obama told the chamber that the "death panel" lie was, in fact, a lie, a Republican member said loudly enough to be heard in the press gallery, "Read the bill" -- a common refrain at August's angry town hall meetings.

When Obama told the chamber that he had "no interest in putting insurance companies out of business," a Republican member responded with a loud, "Ha!"

"Nineteen years, never, never have I seen anything like this," said a furious Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) after the speech.

"I thought it was very inappropriate behavior, to hold up signs. None of us ever would have done that," said Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.). "I don't think in the Congress of the United States there ought to be catcalls, or people standing up and yelling comments or holding up signs."

Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.), the longest serving member in House history, said he was not impressed by the GOP antics. "Well, you've got to understand: They're Republicans. They're just doing what comes natural," he told HuffPost.

Obama, in his speech, referenced Dingell's father for first introducing universal health care legislation in 1943. Dingell has introduced such a bill every year he's been in Congress and today's House bill bears his name.

"I am not the first President to take up this cause, but I am determined to be the last," Obama said of the long history of failed efforts. It struck a chord with Dingell. "The best speech I've ever heard on the floor of the House," he said.

Joe Wilson for instance is promoter of the Confederate flag and is a staunch defender of the South claiming Southerners never acted dishonorably. He's just a good old boy who prefers his own imaginary and romanticized view of the South in which slavery, segregation and racism was not that bad.

Rep. Joe Wilson is getting his 15 minutes of national fame after bellowing "you lie!" during President Obama's health care address last night. But Wilson earned notoriety in his home state of South Carolina in the late 1990s when, as a state legislator, he was one of the staunchest defenders of flying the Confederate battle flag over the state capitol.

As Firedoglake reported earlier today, citing the blog Inside Charm City, state Sen. Joe Wilson was one of only seven members of the South Carolina Senate to vote to keep the Confederate battle flag flying over the state house in 2000. In April 2000, the Senate voted 36-7 to bring down the flag.

But then-Sen. Wilson did more than vote to keep it: he went so far as to appear to defend the Confederacy, declaring that "the Confederate heritage is very honorable." Here's the full quote from a BBC News report:

But local lawmakers, like Republican senator Joe Wilson say it is all about pride and history, and nothing to do with racism and hate. He finds comparisons with Nazis odious.

"That's offensive to me that they would take my heritage and make it into a Holocaust era type description. I find that very offensive, and it's not true," Senator Wilson said. "The Southern heritage, the Confederate heritage is very honourable."

The decision to fly the Confederate battle flag was made by an all-white legislature in 1962 as the civil rights movement was picking up steam. The bill passed in 2000 didn't even remove the flag entirely -- it called for a different version of flag to be flown in front of the state house instead of on top of it.

The continued presence of a Confederate flag at the state house has caused the controversy to continue. In July 2009, the Atlantic Coast Conference -- after discussions with the NAACP -- decided to move three future college baseball tournaments out of South Carolina.

...That's right -- Wilson was one of only seven members of the South Carolina Senate to vote to stick it to the blacks keep the battle flag. It was finally brought down under intense national pressure and from an NAACP boycott, which cost the state millions in tourism revenue.

Wilson was just being a good foot soldier for the Neo-Confederate cause, as he's a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, an organization teeming with white supremecists and right-wing extremists.

Early editions of the SCV's Confederate Veteran newsletter defended the Ku Klux Klan, argued that the United States was created "for white people," and complained that "when a Negro has learned to read he ceases to work."

But it also reveals the Republican Conservative mindset which wants to have all Americans adhere to a particular uncritical national myth divorced from reality as their version of United States history. Strom Thurmond was a full fledged unrepentant racist who was in favor of Jim Crow Laws and segregation and lynchings but is still seen as a hero to many Republicans and conservatives. For instance Pat Buchanan has said America was built by white Christian men and that American society today should reflect that reality.

Flashback: Rep. Wilson Also Had To Apologize After Attacking Strom Thurmond's Illegitimate Daughter

Flashback to mid-December 2003, when Essie Mae Washington-Williams came forward with the bombshell that she was the illegitimate daughter of the recently-deceased patriarch of South Carolina politics, Sen. Strom Thurmond.

Rep. Wilson, a former page of Thurmond's, immediately told The State newspaper that he didn't believe Williams. He deemed the revelation "unseemly." And he added that even if she was telling the truth, she should have kept the inconvenient facts to herself:

"It's a smear on the image that [Thurmond] has as a person of high integrity who has been so loyal to the people of South Carolina," Wilson said.

Of course, Williams' story was entirely true -- and never really in doubt. Thurmond was 22 and Williams' mother, a black maid working in his family home, was 16 when Williams was born in 1925. Thurmond supported Williams financially for decades.

The State story continued with Wilson wondering aloud how anyone could dare "diminish" one of his personal heroes.

Republicans & The Religious Right Jump On The Crazy Train Over Obama Addressing School Kids

Anyway Ultraconservatives, Republicans and the Religious Right are taking exception to the least to the fact that President Obama is going to address school children nation wide on September the eighth -OMG will he try to convert them all to Godless Liberalism or preach about tolerance or evils such as the need of members of a community to care about each other or that everyone is to be treated as equals or preach to them about compassion and empathy -those values the Ultraconservatives and the Religious Right Hate-

Numerous conservatives have claimed that President Obama's upcoming September 8 speech about "persisting and succeeding in school," along with classroom activities about the "importance of education," will "indoctrinate" and "brainwash" schoolchildren. Conservatives have compared Obama's address to Chinese communism and the Hitler Youth, while also calling for parents to "keep your kids home" from the "fascist in chief."

On November 14, 1988, Reagan addressed and took questions from students from four area middle schools in the Old Executive Office Building. According to press secretary Marlin Fitzwater, the speech was broadcast live and rebroadcast by C-Span, and Instructional Television Network fed the program “t o schools nationwide on three different days.” Much of Reagan’s speech that day covered the American “vision of self-government” and the need “to keep faith with the unfinished vision of the greatness and wonder of America” but in the middle of the speech, the president went off on a tangent about the importance of low taxes:

Today, to a degree never before seen in human history, one nation, the United States, has become the model to be followed and imitated by the rest of the world. But America's world leadership goes well beyond the tide toward democracy. We also find that more countries than ever before are following America's revolutionary economic message of free enterprise, low taxes, and open world trade. The message at the Boston Tea Party -- have you studied yet in history about the Boston Tea Party, where because of a tax they went down and dumped the tea in the Harbor. Well, that was America's original tax revolt, and it was the fruits of our labor -- it belonged to us and not to the state. And that truth is fundamental to both liberty and prosperity.

Michelle Malkin claims the evil liberals and leftists are always using school children as guinea pigs to promote leftist anticapitalist UnAmerican beliefs and political & economic theories. But she forgets George H W bush and Ronald Reagan both republicans did nation wide addresses to school kids.

Malkin of course one assumes doesn't see the antics portrayed for example in the documentary "Jesus Camp" or what goes on in numerous Christian Evangelical camps and schools all over America in which five and six year olds are indoctrinated into this particular belief system which tells young children that they are already sinners bound for Hell unless they accept Jesus and that it is their duty to preach the Gospel and if necessary die for it and that it is their duty to help create a Theocracy in America and banish all the sinners.

If Obama were to lead the children in the Pledge of Allegiance and in a Christian Prayer maybe then she and other ultraconservatives might approve of Obama.

Some of the most popular NASCAR drivers have made a PSA (public service announcement), in support of President Obama’s message to America’s school children. They are encouraging children to have the drive to win, the drive to stay in school, and for parents to help our children succeed in their educational goals. It’s an amazing message that should be applauded and supported by all parents of school aged children and citizens of our country.

It is unbelievable that people are making a stink out of the upcoming Presidential address to our public schools. As stated by ED.gov, “During this special address, the President will speak directly to the nation’s children and youth about persisting and succeeding in school. The president will challenge students to work hard, set educational goals, and take responsibility for their learning.” And yet, there are people who are questioning the President’s motives and calling his address “a very troubling turn of events, giving rise to the very legitimate fears of political and social indoctrination.”

The Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan, has sent a letter to schools with suggested “classroom activities” so that students can begin preparing for the President’s address. Some of these activities include things like making posters setting out “community and country” goals, and encourages kids to read books about past presidents and President Obama. Can someone please explain to me how these are BAD things?

Not only have our children been addressed by past presidents, they were addressed by two Republican presidents, and one with a political message. President George H.W. Bush did so in 1991, and President Ronald Reagan was the one who talked politics with students in 1988. But, some people are still saying this is unprecedented and an unacceptable thing for a President to do.


It is absolutely shocking to me that people are turning a positive “stay in school, study hard, and learn everything you can” message, into a partisan fight about possible indoctrination. All I can say is that if the indoctrinated message to my children is “stay in school, study hard, and learn everything you can about your government, your country and our history,” I’m all for promoting that indoctrination.
Let’s get serious people. Our President, like all presidents in the past, is simply trying to inspire our children to learn as much as they can and do their best in school. He is trying to show them that they too, can rise up from any situation and possibly become President of the United States of America. There is no way you can convince me that’s a bad message for our children to hear.

And Tony Perkins of the Religious Right claims Obama's speech is unprecedented because there are before and after activities included such as writing a letter to say what the student could do to help the president -it sounds pretty hum-drum and not very radical. Perkins erroneously claims Obama has done nothing to improve public schools in America but as Matt Corley points out early on Obama began his initiative to make improvements to public schools. Of course the problem here for Perkins is that he is no supporter of public schools and prefers vouchers and tax breaks so parents can home school their kids and teach them Christian Evangelical Fundamentalists values and become proficient in such subjects as Creation Science or send them to private religious schools where they would be free from Godless liberalism or Secular Humanists beliefs.

Fearmongering About Education Speech, Perkins Claims Obama Hasn’t ‘Pushed Any Educational Reform Issues’ by Matt Corley at Think Progress Sept.3,2009

For the past few days, conservatives have been freaking out over President Obama’s upcoming speech to schoolchildren on the first day of school. Though Obama’s speech will be about “persisting and succeeding in school,” the right wing is claiming it is about “school indoctrination” just like “what Chairman Mao did.”

On Fox News this morning, NPR’s Juan Williams defended Obama’s effort as “innocuous,” saying that “on the face of it, it seems to be almost patriotic…you should hear the president speak about the value of education, staying in school, hard work.” But Family Research Council President Tony Perkins wasn’t convinced that the speech would be benign. To buttress his argument, Perkins asserted that “the president really hasn’t pushed any educational reform issues yet in his administration”:

PERKINS: It is unprecedented in the fact that there’s a worksheet attached with this, that there’s homework involved here. Republicans, Far Right, Religious Right & Conspiracy Theorists Join To Fight Obama & The New World Order

UPDATE:11:48 AM & 12:52 & 1:32 PM Sept.4, 2009- This post was not just updated but was for the most part rewritten.

It is odd and a tad hypocritical and disingenuous of the right wingers, radical right & conservatives to talk about dissent being silenced by Obama after eight years of the Bush Regime in which those who disagreed with Bush's policies were over and over again called traitors and unAmerican and even pro-terrorists.It should be noted and remembered that it was not just the members of the Bush Regime and the Republican Party who engaged in these attacks on those who spoke out and criticized the Bush Regime's policies but it was also a number of Democrats and much of the mainstream media in the United States who took part in attacking, chastising, deriding, ridiculing and labeling those who spoke out as being UnAmerican, as traitors, as agitators, trouble makers who were disloyal and did not "love their country".These attacks were defended by constantly repeating and using the events of 9/11 as a means to silence the opposition. So it was seen as seditious to question such policies as "indefinite detention" without charges being laid and that abuse and even torture of "detainees' and the use of "extraordinary renditions" were necessary to protect America and widespread spying on large numbers of American citizens was justified and that the invasion and occupation of Iraq was absolutely crucial to America's security.

But as most Americans now accept is that torture did not result in providing reliable actionable intelligence and if anything besmirched America's reputation and led to even more mistrust and antagonism towards America in general and in Iraq it fueled a wide spread resistance and the so called "insurgency". Americans even now refuse to accept the fact that the Iraqi people were reacting to a foreign occupation of their sovereign nation in the same way Americans would if a foreign army occupied their nation.

And we also know that invasion and occupation of Iraq was not necessary and that rationale for it was based upon misrepresentation of facts, exaggerated concerns, "cooked up Intel" outright lies as part of a well organized overwhelming propaganda campaign by the Bush Regime and enabled by the mainstream media who appeared to be taking their marching orders ie "Talking Points" from Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Karl Rove & Condoleeza Rice etc.

In the face of overwhelming propaganda common sense, intelligence , the power to reason, rational thought is by-passed as it appeals to peoples emotions, their sentiments, their sense of patriotism,their anxieties, their feelings of fear and helplessness and to their hopes and aspirations. In any case when abused it creates an unhealthy mindset in which individuals are no longer connected with reality. They are told as Orwell pointed out that 2+2=5 and that if this is what those in power say is true it is therefore by definition true. For instance if those in power claim "torture works" then this becomes "the Party Line" and those who question "Fact" are disloyal and UnAmerican. The propagandists in the government and their fellow travelers in the media tell the people that a war is necessary when in fact it is not and so the people are put in a position or mental state in which they must reject any facts which contradict "The Party Line" because only "The Party Line" is presented as a true depiction of reality. They are misled about a leader told that the leader is saintly or evil.

Usually propaganda uses these extremes of good versus bad everything is in terms of black and white there is a belief in certainty where there is no certainty-shades of grey do not exist in such an either/or world. So Saddam is not just a bad guy but is absolutely Evil and is out to destroy America by any means necessary while George W. Bush is depicted as a God Fearing Real American doing whatever he can to defend America and all his intentions and motivations are pure and in "Good Faith" while the motives of his opponents in the United States are questionable and anti-American.

As I have discussed before the Evangelical Fundamentalists views the world in these extreme terms there is good and evil, God and Satan and they apply this formula to every issue they encounter. Homosexuality, abortion, pre-marital sex,atheism, secular humanism, evolution are all portrayed as evil. The Far right and conservatives also see the world in similar terms ie government is evil, taxation is evil, socialism is evil, Free market Laissez Faire capitalism is good , unions are evil, regulation is evil, minimum wage laws are bad etc. So now in the Republican party in the United States its main base consists of the Religious Right ,Evangelical Fundamentalists ,the Far Right and an extreme form of conservatism and Patriot groups and militias. All of them are joined together to fight the Obama administration which they see in a word as UnAmerican.

Besides this radical and dangerous mix of groups who hold to a set of rigid beliefs they have joined forces with a variety of conspiracy theorists such as Alex Jones and others who adhere to a belief in the New World Order and Fema Camps or that President Obama was not born in America and that he has some sort of hidden agenda .

Anyway here is more paranoia , conspiracies and hate from Resistnet.com and its affiliated Right Wing groups who are planning a big rally against Obama's health care on Sept. 12 in Washington DC.

In the video clip below African-American Pastor Broden speaking at a(Glenn Beck) "9/12 Project" event in June of this year he sets up the argument which we have seen before ie Francis A. Schaeffer 1982 in which it is argued there are only two competing and incompatible world views so we need to understand this and thereby reject one and accept the other. These two world views are that of the values systems and beliefs of Judeo-Christianity or Biblical view of reality and the competing views and values system of "Secular Humanism".The Judeo-Christian view is that God created the world and gave his laws to the various prophets ie Moses, Abraham , Jesus etc. and that God created man and that our duty is to follow God's Laws in order to be saved and born again and cleansed of our sins. The Secular Humanist view is that the Universe and man are a result of chance without any real purpose.

"Secular Humanism " is therefore characterized by Francis A. Schaeffer and Pastor Broden and other Evangelical Fundamentalists as being a Godless philosophy or world view which is man centered and therefore cannot have an ethical or moral system to guide the behavior of human beings. While Evangelical Fundamentalist believe in "special Creation" of human beings by God the Secular Humanists believe human beings are a result of millions of years of evolutionary adaptation and chance.

So there is a conflict going on between these two competing and incompatible world views and only one can be victorious. American society they argue is now dominated by the "Secular Humanists" view and the problems in American society such as permissiveness, pornography, greed , corruption, pre-marital sex, adultery and the collapse of the Family unit and of Family Values and Judeo-Christian values is a direct and inevitable consequence of the "Secular Humanists" prevailing view of reality.

Pastor Broden and other Evangelical Fundamentalist believe that the United States government is being controlled by the Secular Humanist and the Secular Humanist world view and therefore it is up to Christians to take back control of the US federal government and of the State's government and local governance to restore America to its Judeo-Christian founding principles and values to once again become a Godly Nation. This is to be done by voting these politicians out of power or by means of impeachment and if these peaceful means do not work Pastor Broden and others who are part of this Religious Right Movement and their fellow travelers ie conservatives and the Far Right then an insurrection or bloody Revolution will inevitably be necessary and justified.

Pastor Broden uses the same extremist rhetoric by comparing what is happening in the United States today under the Obama administration to Nazi Germany in which the people and especially the German Jews were unable to accept what was actually happening until it was too late. Therefore he instructs his audience that they must be vigilant and actively taking action against the government and its allies on a daily basis because this threat of the "Secular Humanists" and "liberalism" the most ominous and dangerous situation to ever face America If they lose this battle Americans will never be able to regain their liberty from these evil tyrannical forces.

The main website of ResistNet.com for instance has linked to as of today to 3,935 videos all attacking Obama and his administration and his policies while promoting and inciting resistance to the Obama administration in alarmist and extremist terms constantly suggesting that Obama must be stopped now in order to Save America from Godless Liberalism Socialism and communism.

Even though ResistNet.com & other affiliated sponsors insist that no signs be permitted at the 9/12 protest which equate Obama to Hitler their most recent video on their site does just that. This meassage is taking hold on a significant number of American citizens who were from the beginning skeptical or even alarmed by Obama being elected as president. Anyway Obama's election promise of Universal Health Care for all Americans is being watered down as he gives into the health insurance industry , big pharma, the medical industry who have no interest in what's best for the American people. All these groups care about is the bottom line that is ever increasing profits which is natural since these are just corporations and individuals who are motivated not by humanitarian concerns but rather greed. As Michael Lind in the article below argues Obama needs to take on these special interests on behalf of the American people. But he needs to be forceful and tell them that every American has a right to good quality health care and not just the privileged. He should be able to tell the nation that it is an outrage that over 45 million Americans are without health care insurance. The private sector is not interested in insuring these 45 million Americans unless the government gives a handout of a few billion dollars to the Insurance Industry, hospitals, doctors etc. They will then claim that they are running a private health care program . If the private medical system was better run there would not be a call for reform at all. Health Insurance Companies write their contracts to their clients in such a way that manage to pay out a lot less than they should especially when a client is facing a catastrophic illness. We saw the same game played by insurance companies after Hurricane Katrina in which insurance companies had a hundred different ways of avoiding paying money out to home owners.And yet the health insurance industry claims that they operate in good faith but how is it good faith when the contract is so complicated filled with a number of legal loop-holes and legalese jargon that the client has little understanding of these contracts.

Harry Truman told Americans in 1948. Most Americans have employer-provided healthcare. They are worried about keeping it if they lose their jobs and about the rising cost of deductibles. Democrats should have sold healthcare reform as establishing a permanent, universal right to affordable healthcare.

You also can't fight and win a war without naming your enemies. In the case of healthcare, the enemies of the American people ...include rent-seeking insurance companies, rent-seeking pharma companies, and overcompensated doctors and hospitals.

Last but not least, you need a narrative in which today's campaign is not an isolated technocratic attempt to solve a particular public policy problem, but part of the ongoing story of progressive reform in America. In his 1964 Democratic convention speech, Lyndon Johnson invoked American history in laying out the vision of the Great Society: "The Founding Fathers dreamed America before it was. The pioneers dreamed of great cities on the wilderness that they crossed."

Meanwhile the Republicans, the Conservative movement , the Far Right, the Religious Right, militias and various anti-government organizations and Conspiracy Theorists are joining up to fight President Obama on Health care and on his attempts they believe to make America into a Socialist or Fascist state. They are also fighting Obama on a number of other issues they are concerned about including euthanasia , abortion, birth control, sex education,legal and illegal-immigration ,pluralism, multiculturalism, prayer in the schools, the war on Christmas and whatever else they can throw into the mix. For instance they believe Obama may not even be a Real American since they argue he may not have been born in America or that he's a secret Muslim, or a "socialist in the employ of the New World Order.They also further criticize Obama for making statements in foreign countries to the effect that America has made mistakes, and at times acted in an arrogant manner and Obama said America is not a Christian Nation and is not exceptional and therefore is not God's chosen nation all of which the conservatives take as an insult to America and to its Founding Fathers.

The thing of it is that the Conservatives et al are well organized as we have seen how effective they were in taking control of the Town Hall Meetings and ensuring that the mainstream media got their message out and not that of president Obama. Those who shout the loudest and claim to be the victims of an authoritarian regime get to set the agenda and write the headlines. They claim Obama is pushing his socialists and Hitlerian agenda on unsuspecting Americans.

In this next clip the anti-health care crowd misappropriates Martin Luther King's March on Washington & his "Free at Last Speech".
This is so disturbing on so many levels its hard to know where to begin. The very idea that these mostly Angry White Men would attempt to use Martin Luther King to support their cause which is to maintain the "Satus-Quo" of the rich and powerful. That their agenda is to rob the American people of substantive reforms which would be good for the nation and for average Americans. I mentioned the Satus Quo but in fact the Republicans, the Radical Right and the Religious Right are trying to join forces to become a juggernaut which acting in concert can't be stopped so they can according to their views turn the clock back 50 or more years to some idealized non-existent fantasy world of Norman Rockwell & "Leave it To Beaver" when America was not so jaded and was a moral and Christian nation.

But for some this is still not going back far enough as they wish to return to the good old days of the 19th century of unfettered unbridled laissez-faire capitalism when the Robber Barons could do whatever they wanted before Teddy Roosevelt and later Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman others began to challenge them .

The Religious Right 's agenda is to create as near a theocracy as they can get depending on what the Corporate Elite will allow.

Anyway the video using Martin Luther King is ironic since firstly there is the obvious point that most of the people who are against Universal health care are predominately white while Obama is black.

Secondly this piece of propaganda misrepresents Dr. king because it ignores Dr. King's anti-Vietnam War sentiments which he expressed publicly. It also ignores Dr. King's campaign against poverty since he believed in order for all Americans to have equal opportunities they all needed the basics of food, clothing, shelter, good quality health care etc. Dr. King also preached tolerance and understanding and acceptance of others who are different due to color, creed, religion, sexual orientation that people be judged by their character and not the color of their skin their religion or the amount of material things or wealth that they have amassed.

But for instance these anti-Obama protesters at least most of them are in favor of ginning up the war effort against terrorists, against drugs, against legal & illegal immigrants and instead of preaching tolerance they are also anti-Gay , antiFeminist, anti-women 's repoductive rights, anti-birth control, anti-any government measure which might help the poor and the working poor, the disabled, the mentally ill etc.

The Religious Right therefore have little if anything in common with an idealistic non-violent freedom fighter such as Dr. King. The Religious Right who are a part of this anti-Obama anti-Government coalition also tend to be pro-Christian Evangelical fundamentalist and anti-Muslim and are against pluralism and multiculturalism they are anything but tolerant. They believe only Christianity is a true religion which was created by God. All others are anti-Christian and therefore Satanic.Believing in an inerrant literal reading of the Bible they believe most of if not all the laws of the Old Testament are to be enforced. In their little local churches and in their massive Disney World style Mega Churches they preach an old fashioned fire and brimstone message whether it is Pastor Hagee or a Rick Warren their basic beliefs are the same whether they allow modern rock music or other theatrics strobe lights fire works etc. as BattleCry does it is the same old Fundamentalist intolerant message of fear and self-loathing and hate which they then turn into self-aggrandizement as each individual becomes a Warrior For Christ out to destroy the demons and demonic forces of the Secular Humanist society.

Their idea of freedom is that rich folks should pay less taxes & that government toss out any & all regulations concerning businesses & corporation to allow for unfettered laissez faire 19th century style capitalism at its worst. Toss out minimum wage laws, child labor laws bring back the Work House and Debtor's Prisons and the death penalty for a number of offenses. Is this the explanation for their railing on and on about the Fema Camps is this another projection because if they had their way millions of liberals, feminists, gays, secular humanists and those of other religions would be gathered up and put into concentration camps or sent into exile.

"Nativists to 'Patriots':Nativist Vigilantes Adopt 'Patriot' Movement Ideas "By David Holthouse Intelligence Report Fall 2009 at Southern Poverty Law Center

Camp Vigilance, Calif. — A call to arms from ResistNet blares through this makeshift camp near the small community of Boulevard: "We all know what happens when you back an animal into a corner — it fights back. The way I see it, that's exactly the direction this country is heading. They're backing us into a corner. It's getting to be time to fight back."

Located two-and-a-half miles north of Mexico in the high, rugged desert of unincorporated eastern San Diego County, Camp Vigilance, known colloquially as "Camp V," is a sizable Minuteman border vigilante compound situated amidst 170 privately owned acres.

...Increasingly, Minutemen are giving credence to the sort of fringe conspiracy theories that have long typified militia and other so-called Patriot groups. Although the Minuteman movement from its inception has been permeated with the Aztlan or "reconquista" conspiracy theory — which holds that the Mexican government is driving illegal immigration into the U.S. as part of a covert effort to "reconquer" the American Southwest — the conspiracy theories that are now taking root in the movement have little or nothing to do with border security or immigration. They include the belief that a massive cover-up has been conducted regarding Barack Obama's birth certificate, which supposedly shows that he was born in Africa and is therefore ineligible to serve as president of the United States.

...Further indicating the nativist-to-Patriot drift of the Minutemen is the fact that in recent months a number of Minuteman factions have begun promoting the ideology of so-called "sovereign citizens," a bizarre pseudo-legal philosophy whose adherents claim they're not U.S. citizens and are not subject to federal or state laws, only to "common law courts" — a sort of people's tribunal with no judges or lawyers. The most notorious advocates of sovereign citizens ideology include Oklahoma City bombing conspirator Terry Nichols and members of the now defunct Montana Freemen, a violent militia outfit. The larger Patriot movement is made up of tax protesters, militia members and sovereign citizens.

Accompanying the rise of conspiracy theories and sovereign citizen ideology within the Minuteman movement has been a spike in online and campfire chatter about the potential need for armed insurrection in the near future. This trend toward contemplated violence was most graphically illustrated by the May 30 home invasion murders of a Latino man and his 9-year-old daughter in Arivaca, Ariz., that were allegedly orchestrated by the leader of Minutemen American Defense to fund her group's vigilante activities.

All of these disturbing nativist-to-Patriot trends have taken shape during a period in which, by all indications, the number of Latino immigrants attempting to cross the U.S. border has dropped to record lows, due in large part to the country's faltering economy. According to a June report by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the number of U.S. Border Patrol apprehensions fell to 724,000 last year. That marked the lowest level since 1973 and a decline of more than 50% from 2000, when apprehensions peaked at 1.67 million.

It's no surprise that this spring's swine flu outbreak provided a bonanza for immigrant bashers eager to exploit fears of a potentially dangerous virus that may have originated in Mexico.

But even by nativist standards, the torrent of racist and conspiracy-minded comments was impressive. From anti-immigrant leaders to mainstream talk show hosts, propagandists vilified Mexican immigrants as disease-carriers who were spreading the virus because of their poor hygiene. Often, the rhetoric got downright ugly.

"So now, in addition to venereal disease and the other leading exports of Mexico — women with mustaches and VD — now we have swine flu," proclaimed right-wing Boston radio host Jay Severin. "We should be, if anything, surprised that Mexico has not visited upon us poxes of more various and serious types already, considering the number of criminaliens [sic] already here." Severin also called Mexican immigrants "leeches" and "primitives" and told a caller that emergency rooms have "become essentially condos for Mexicans." He was suspended indefinitely from his afternoon show on WTKK-FM.

And nationally syndicated radio show host Michael Savage told listeners that they'd be risking their lives to eat at a restaurant with undocumented workers, according to Media Matters for America, a monitoring group. "Go ahead, idiot," he said. "Go ahead, go and eat in a restaurant now with illegal aliens all over the kitchen, and you don't know if they were in Mexico yesterday or two days ago because your wonderful government doesn't give a rat's behind who's in the kitchen or whether they wiped their behind with their hands."

If you thought such unabashedly bigoted music was available only from underground sources, you’d be wrong. With a few clicks at Apple’s iTunes website, Internet users can buy albums and songs from white supremacist groups such as Bully Boys, Final War, Stormtroop 16 and H8Machine.

But what has one iTunes customer particularly incensed is that the website has apparently removed homophobic songs by reggae artists, but left the white supremacist music. Galen Andrews, who lives outside Des Moines, Iowa, told Hatewatch that he thinks all hate music should be pulled from iTunes. “It made me sick,” he said of the white supremacist music. “I think it’s irresponsible of iTunes to offer that kind of music. I don’t like the fact that they’re selling racism for profit.”

Focus on" "The Kick Them All Out Project" founded by Bruce McDonald over a year ago before the November election to influence the vote.Part of his plan was for American voters to not vote for incumbents of either party to at least partially clean house. McDonald argues on his website that this would show these politicians that they are employees of the American people and as employees they can be fired if they are not doing their jobs effectively.

He is has continued to attack the government but even more vehemently with more His website is filled with attacks on The Obama administration and its alleged " socialist Agenda" & its alleged connections to the New World Order. The website panders to a number of far right conspiracy theories from the New World Order & The North American Union to the Swine Flu vaccine to the belief that the 9/11 attacks were an inside job & the militarization of America itself as the US military as it were becomes a puppet of the NWO & will soon be treating America as an occupied country.

The main point of McDonald's group is that America has reached a tipping point & is in a crisis and that the American people that is "Real Americans" & "True Patriots" must take a stand against this "Puppet Regime"

This group argues that the politicians in Washington have sold out the American people to transnational corporations and lobbyists etc. who make up a world wide conspiracy for a corporate run state ie Fascism. As with all these groups they paint a bleak future if things continue the way they are. And the argue we are at a tipping point or a crisis situation in which action needs to be taken now for the United States will be radically changed from what it was traditionally and what the Founding Fathers had created & hoped it would remain as long as the people were vigilant and actively involved in the nation's business.
