More than 300 Afghan soldiers and members of the police forces are killed each month as the Afghans assume more responsibility for the war against the Taliban, military officials said Monday. A Defense Ministry spokesman, Gen. Mohammad Zahir Azimi, said that about 110 soldiers and 200 policemen were killed in action each month, an increase over last year.

America's newest high tech weapon EMP Electo-Magnetic Pulse bomb :

EMP causes non-lethal gamma energy to react with the magnetic field and produces a powerful electromagnetic shock wave that can destroy electronic devices, especially those used in Iran’s nuclear plants.

The shock wave would knock out Iran’s power grid and communications systems for transport and financial services, leading to economic collapse.

Ellen Degeneres and JC Penny allegedly making Christmas into a Gay Christmas and thereby according to the Christian Right in the USA out to undermine Christian values.
It seems the commercialization of Christmas they don't mind but using Gays in commercials they allege is offensive and an attack on Christmas and Christianity. So much for love and compassion for all including loving your neighbor as thyself and loving even your enemies . Those parts have been removed by Conservative anti-Gay homophobic Christian supremacists from thei version of the New testament. Cause their God is the angry pissed off God of the Old Testament .

Conservative media watchdog group One Million Moms is angry about Ellen DeGeneres' new Christmas ad for J.C. Penney, NBC's "Today Show" reports.

DeGeneres, a spokeswoman for the department store, is featured in a holiday ad in which she asks a group of Santa's elves to make more toys for a giveaway contest but winds up making a bunch of clumsy "small" jokes in the process.

The ad did not sit well with the group, who said the following about DeGeneres (via Boston.com):

Since April, JC Penney's has not aired Ellen DeGeneres in one of their commercials until now. A new JCP ad features Ellen and three elves. JCP has made their choice to offend a huge majority of their customers again. Christians must now vote with their wallets. We have contacted JC Penney's several times in the past with our concerns, and they will not listen. They have decided to ignore our complaints so we will avoid them at all costs.

More evidence that Israel's latest atrocities committed in Gaza have been counterproductive . There are those who think though that Israel was in fact hoping to raise tensions not merely to defend itself. Israel has also been palnning more settlements in West Bank and East Jerusalem but is using the successful bid and support by the United Nations in which Palestine now has been granted non-member status . Israel is also pissed off at the United nations for condemning its unwarranted attack on Gaza and the United Nations resolution to force Israel to allow inspectors into Israel to examine Israel's Nuclear Weapons facilities and its stock piles. Almost all the UN nations except for the USA and Canada have censured Israel over its attacks or war crimes in Gaza and its refusal to allow UN atomic inspectors into Israel. Israel was quite happy with the United Nations when the UN gave Israel the green light to form its own nation in 1948 but sine then Israel has shown only disdain for the United nations.

Palestinian analyst says Hamas influence rising  Reuters Dec. 7, 2012

Dec. 7 - As exiled Hamas chief Khaled Meshaal visits Gaza, a Palestinian analyst says that after the recent conflict, the Jewish state can no longer be considered as the only military power in the area. Sarah Sheffer reports.

EMP Electo-magnetic Pulse bomb America's Newest weapon successfully tested . The weapon supposedly does no harm to people but rather just to technology . The main selling points include no risk to the lives of US troops This is supposed to be another smart bomb but if the electronic systems it takes out are power grids or medical equipment or even motor vehicles then it could have dire consequences for the civilian population .

The other dark-side of this type of weapon is that it would kill the internet and telephone systems , radio stations, TV stations plus all electronic devices from microwave ovens to coffee makers to pacemakers , hearing aids , traffic lights in a specific city or nation this could lead to interference in Emergency services in that city or nation leading to chaos and injuries and deaths.

Using the EMP Bomb would take out emergency services such as alerting the civilian population to an attack and to informing the civilians what to do to protect themselves from attack by other weapons and bombs such as staying in their homes or going to bomb shelters. Wouldn't cars which now use computer technology also be affected including ambulances, fire trucks , police cars. As for no collateral damage that's the same lie the public is told about the Drone attacks and pin-point targeted bombing by USA, NATO and Israel.

Boeing has successfully tested an EMP missile that could be doomsday for Iran; media have largely ignored the development.

"Israel National News" -- Boeing has successful tested an electro-magnetic pulse (EMP) missile that turns “science fiction into science fact” and could be the doomsday weapon against Iran, but media have largely ignored the development.

The U.S. Air Force and Boeing demonstrated the device more than two months ago over a military site in the Utah desert, reported the VR-Zone technology website.

Boeing did not keep the test a secret, but most mainstream media and technology sites overlooked the report.

The test was codenamed CHAMP -- Counter-Electronics High Power Advanced Missile Project and was the first time a real EMP missile has been tested with positive real world results.

One of the most startling developments in the research and test is that the missile system does not use any explosives, thereby limiting damage to its intended goal of directing microwave energy that can cause instant blackouts.

Keith Coleman, who serves as Boeing’s CHAMP program manager in their Phantom Works division, stated that video camera showed “images of numerous desktop computers running, and then suddenly all of them go out quickly followed by the camera going to black,” VR-Zone reported.

“We hit every target we wanted to... Today we made science fiction, science fact,” said Coleman.

An Arutz Sheva opinion article in August mentioned Israel's possible use of an EMP bomb against Iran. The report triggered a chain reaction, allegedly influencing U.S. intelligence sources who have since been quoted in several publications with doubtful assumptions that the article reflected Israel government thinking.

The London Times subsequently reported that an EMP bomb could cripple Iran by shutting down its electronics and sending the Islamic Republic “back to the Stone Age.”

More bad news from Afghanistan as President Hamid Karzai blames insecurity and violence in the country on the activities and attitudes towards the Afghan people of American troops and private contractors over the last 12 years . The Americans troops in Afghanistan were given the freedom to do as they please in the country and so committed various war crimes or showed a flagrant disregard for the sensibilities of the Afghan people. When atrocities have been committed by US troops if at all possible the Americans have ignored or buried such criminal actions except for serving up the odd scape goat . US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have testified they had been given orders to shoot first and ask questions later and there was pressure on military units to maintain a body count quota. While murdering innocent civilians other US troops believed it was their right and duty to proselytize for Christianity in these Muslim dominated countries.

Insecurity 'Coming To Us From The Structures That NATO And America Created' (VIDEO) Dec. 6, 2012

Afghan President Hamid Karzai had some harsh words for the United States and NATO during a Thursday interview with NBC News.

Karzai accused the U.S. of violating its strategic partnership agreement with Afghanistan, and he indicated that "part of the insecurity [in Afghanistan] is definitely coming to us from terrorism and the attacks of the Taliban." He continued with a criticism of the U.S., adding, "part of the insecurity is coming to us from the structures that NATO and America created in Afghanistan."

The Afghan leader singled out "the private security firms" and "the contractors that they promoted at the cost of the Afghan people."

Karzai also partly blamed the insecurity in Afghanistan on "the way they [the U.S., NATO] behaved with the Afghan people and the anger that that has caused in the Afghan people and the resulting insecurity." He added, "there is a very strong perception that some of that insecurity is intentional."

The U.S. actions that stirred anger to which he was likely referring include an incident in which Marines were shown in a video urinating on the corpses of Taliban fighters. After the video came to light, Karzai called the actions of those involved "inhuman." Two Marines were criminally charged for their actions. In another incident, U.S. soldiers were implicated in the burning of copies of the Koran.

Karzai also leveled criticism at the U.S. in November, when he accused U.S. forces of violating a detainee transfer pact signed between the two countries.

New violence struck Afghanistan on Thursday when the country's intelligence chief, Asadullah Khalid, was wounded by a suicide bombing. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.

NBC points out, per the U.N., that "in the first six months of 2012 alone, more than 3,000 civilians were killed or injured" in Afghanistan.

Israeli assault on Gaza reminds us: Stopping Harper requires challenging his foreign policy By Derrick O'Keefe at rabble.ca ,November 20, 2012

"Justice is indivisible, and injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." -Martin Luther King Jr.

For the past week, people from all walks of life have come together in Vancouver -- and right across Canada -- to publicly express outrage about the latest round of Israeli atrocities against the people of Gaza.

This is the least we can do in the face of such grotesque injustice. Thus far, at least 140 Palestinians and three Israelis have been killed. This ratio gives us an idea about the real nature of this 'conflict' between the Israeli state and the Palestinians.

This is not, in fact, a conflict between two equal sides. This is a settler-colonial project that has dispossessed, oppressed and tortured the Palestinian people for decades. Today, this is one of the world's most powerful militaries unleashing sadistic levels of violence -- bomb strikes from the sky, artillery shelling from the sea -- on an impoverished and imprisoned population in Gaza.

What Israel is doing, and has been doing for years with its blockade of Gaza, is medieval in its cruelty. But don't take my word for it.

"The goal of the operation is to send Gaza back to the Middle Ages," says Israeli Interior Minister Eli Yishai.

This the voice of barbarism. And the toll it's taking in innocent blood is rising daily.

U.S.-Approved Arms for Libya Rebels Fell Into Jihadis’ Hands
By JAMES RISEN, MARK MAZZETTI and MICHAEL S. SCHMIDT at New York Times ,Dec. 5, 2012

The Obama administration secretly gave its blessing to arms shipments to Libyan rebels from Qatar last year, but American officials later grew alarmed as evidence grew that Qatar was turning some of the weapons over to Islamic militants, according to United States officials and foreign diplomats.

No evidence has emerged linking the weapons provided by the Qataris during the uprising against Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi to the attack that killed four Americans at the United States diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, in September.

But in the months before, the Obama administration clearly was worried about the consequences of its hidden hand in helping arm Libyan militants, concerns that have not previously been reported. The weapons and money from Qatar strengthened militant groups in Libya, allowing them to become a destabilizing force since the fall of the Qaddafi government.

The experience in Libya has taken on new urgency as the administration considers whether to play a direct role in arming rebels in Syria, where weapons are flowing in from Qatar and other countries.

The Obama administration did not initially raise objections when Qatar began shipping arms to opposition groups in Syria, even if it did not offer encouragement, according to current and former administration officials. But they said the United States has growing concerns that, just as in Libya, the Qataris are equipping some of the wrong militants.

The United States, which had only small numbers of C.I.A. officers in Libya during the tumult of the rebellion, provided little oversight of the arms shipments. Within weeks of endorsing Qatar’s plan to send weapons there in spring 2011, the White House began receiving reports that they were going to Islamic militant groups. They were “more antidemocratic, more hard-line, closer to an extreme version of Islam” than the main rebel alliance in Libya, said a former Defense Department official.

and so it goes,
GORD.
