"The time for double standards that allow Islamists to behave aggressively toward us while they demand our weakness and submission is over," Gingrich wrote. "The proposed 'Cordoba House' overlooking the World Trade Center site – where a group of jihadists killed over 3,000 Americans and destroyed one of our most famous landmarks – is a test of the timidity, passivity and historic ignorance of American elites."FROM:

The entire Shirley Sherrod affair is so disgusting, such a stomach-churning episode of right-wing lies, propagandists posing as “journalists,” and craven political cowardice and gullibility, that it’s hard to know who to be most enraged at.FROM:Shirley Sherrod and the Right: A Day That Will Live in Infamy by Mark Potok via Southern Poverty Law Center, July 21, 2010
Anyway today's top story is about the Far Right, Fox News and their racism and how they get away with making stuff up to feed their angry racist homophobic Islamophobic Fanatical Christian Zionist crowd who believe themselves to be The Real Americans who erroneously and insanely believe they are the victims of the Obama Administrations conspiracy to make America into a Muslim, Marxist, Fascist, Collectivist , Nazi Regime dominated by Non-Whites .
One might conclude that Fox News, the Tea Party, Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin, John McCain, Glenn Beck, Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly it appears have more in common with Stormfront , The American Bund , the KKK than with the majority of Americans or with traditional American values.
Racist extremist at Fox News attack a government employee Shirley Shirrod at USDA( United States Department of Agriculture) who happens to be a black woman and Obama gives in and does nothing to defend her against these false accusations.
Note she is talking about an incident which occurred in 1983 when she was not working for the federal government .
She was working for a non-profit organization.
She said she was at that time in 1983 conflicted at first about helping a white farmer but she did help the family and saved their farm.
She told the story to point out that she quickly came to realize that the fight was not about just helping black people but about helping poor people black or white- that is regardless of color.

The entire Shirley Sherrod affair is so disgusting, such a stomach-churning episode of right-wing lies, propagandists posing as “journalists,” and craven political cowardice and gullibility, that it’s hard to know who to be most enraged at.
Andrew Breitbart, a particularly vile propagandist of the American right who presented a severely edited videotape of a speech by the Agriculture Department official to falsely label her an anti-white racist? Fox News, several of whose miserable excuses for journalists relentlessly plugged the entirely false story until Sherrod was fired? Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, who had a minion call Sherrod on a cell phone and insist that she pull over to the side of the road and text in her resignation before any of the relevant background facts about the “scandal” emerged? The White House, which, apparently frightened of appearing in any way linked to black racism, stood by the essentially forced resignation even when it became clear that Sherrod’s speech was nothing like what Breitbart suggested? Even the NAACP acted poorly in this sorry episode, calling for Sherrod’s firing based on what Fox News was airing. (To its credit, the civil rights group quickly recognized its error, retracting its call yesterday and saying it had been “snookered” by Breitbart and Fox’s falsehoods.)
Here’s the story in brief, for those few people who still don’t know about it. On Monday, Breitbart — the same loathsome character who publicly called Ted Kennedy a “pile of human excrement” a few hours after the senator’s death — aired a video of Sherrod speaking to an NAACP banquet in Georgia last March. In his edited version, Sherrod talks about initially not wanting to help a white man who was facing the loss of his farm because of her anger toward white racists. But Breitbart, furious about the NAACP’s recent criticism of racism within the ranks of the Tea Parties, edited out the crucial conclusion of what was really Sherrod’s tale of redemption — that in the course of the 1986 case she was discussing, she came to realize that “the struggle is really about poor people,” and that her anti-white feelings were wrong. She said the case changed her entire outlook. (And in fact the farmer and his wife were all over the media yesterday, saying that Sherrod had saved their farm, was a fine and caring woman, and should get her job back.)

And my two cents and more examples of the Right Wing Media and the Tea Party and Republicans racism and Islamophobia :
President Obama again and again appears to be MIA - Rather than the Change he promised he is more interested in appeasing the Right Wing Media and the racist/Fascist elements in the Republican Party such as Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin Fox News et al.
In the case of Sherrod Obama all too quickly accepted the slanted version of events as promulgated by the Right Wing Media . The ridiculously biased Fox News appears to have too much power over the White House. So who is it does things the "Chicago Way" unfortunately not Obama. His right wing opposition is like a bunch of rabid dogs hoping for violence in the streets and an assassination or two by so called "Lone Gunmen" to put an end to the administration or just turn it into a lame duck.
What's Obama's problem no guts - is he more interested in appeasing the far right than in doing the right thing .
President Obama once again gives into Fox News & the Far Right - Is he merely adverse to controversy- so he avoids controversy and making tough decisions and the Republicans, Fox News, Glenn Beck & the Tea Party Movement be damned. When will he learn he can not win with those Americans who are on the right who essentially dislike him because he is Black and that they refuse to take seriously a black person who is the President of the United States.
Meanwhile Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin fear monger over Mosque at Ground Zero .
Racist Islamophobes Pushing Their Talking Points- referring to American Muslims as Islamists and equating them with Violent Islamic Jihadists/Terrorists who are out to destroy and dominate Western Civilization. The term Islamists refers to Islamic supremacists.
Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck Fox News filling the media with their narrow minded bigotry
Newt Gingrich aka "No Mosque Gingrich" is he as bigoted as he appears or is he using such divisive issues for self-promotion and for trying to deligitimize Obama's presidency and Obama's supporters as Islamic Terrorist appeasers . Gingrich and his bigoted ilk are pushing their racist hate filled talking points to control the discussion so that anything Muslim Americans do is seen as suspect. So if one tries to have a more meaningful discussion or conversation about Islam and Muslim Americans & the majority of the world's Muslims as being at odds with Muslim Extremist then you are to be characterized as Pro-Jihadists, anti-American, anti-Christian and an enemy of Western Civilization.

What about the thousands of Muslims who serve in our military? Does that yellow magnet on your car say "Support the Christian Troops"?
Maybe Sarah Palin's soon to be released little book of "Clever Sayings That Rock!" will include George Santayana's "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." Almost 110,000 Japanese Americans were interned in 26 different camps after the Pearl Harbor attacks. 33,000 Japanese Americans served in the US Military during the same time.
If we become a country willing to discriminate against people of faith, we will have become the extremism we fight.
Funding For Ground Zero Mosque Still In Question By Ankita Rao Religion News Service Via Huffington PostJuly 13, 2010
(RNS) A major political clash is brewing in New York over a planned mosque near Ground Zero, with Republicans demanding an investigation into the mosque's funding and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg calling such a probe "un-American."
Long Island Rep. Peter King, the top Republican on the House Homeland Security Committee, wants a probe of the $100 million project, as does GOP gubernatorial candidate Rick Lazio.
"That just is so out of character for what this nation stands for," Bloomberg said at a Monday (July 12) press conference.
Bloomberg stood by decisions by city and neighborhood officials to support the construction of Cordoba House, a 15-story community center with an auditorium, art exhibition space and mosque.
The Cordoba House is a project of Cordoba Initiative, an organization seeking to foster peaceful Muslim-Western relations, and the American Society for Muslim Advancement (ASMA).
