BP's Tony Hayward & The Food Poison epidemic ? Plumes What Plumes? Blaming Environmentalists? BP's Exploding Refinery ?

“I’m sure they were genuinely ill, but whether it had anything to do with dispersants and oil, whether it was food poisoning, or some other reason for them being ill. You know, there’s a– food poisoning is a really big issue when you’ve got a concentration of this many people in ten pre-cabs, ten pre-accommodations. It’s something we have to be very, very mindful of. It’s one of the big issues of keeping the army operating. Armies march on their stomachs.”

BP's clown Tony Hayward is just brilliant in that it comes so easily to him telling lies and making shit up and now says all of the fishermen and others complaining of illness just have a case of food -how does he know poisoning it appears he implies to be quite common among these aah ...common people its why he tries to dazzle the people with his technical knowledge and appears a commoner himself -maybe he thinks he has the charisma of The Music Man -You got trouble right here in the gulf but its no problem the problem is those environmentalist , do gooders , tree huggers all of those Unamericans not real Americans or Canadians who don't give a fig about the environment & know that CEOs are the Gods themselves. BP CEO Attributes Oil Spill Cleanup Workers’ Illness To Food Poisoning by Frances Martel via Mediaite.com, May 31st|

The BP oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico is an incalculable tragedy and there is absolutely no silver lining about it. But if there were anything to at least laugh at, bitterly, in this mess, it’s BP CEO Tony Hayward floundering in the media spotlight, with every word spoken making his company more unlikeable. Yesterday’s Hayward PR home run: oil workers were not getting sick because of the toxicity of the oil and BP’s dispersants, they have simply gotten food poisoning.

Hayward responded yesterday to reports that workers have had to be hospitalized for dizziness, headaches, nasal irritation and other respiratory symptoms. While he admitted that he didn’t think they were faking it, and didn’t exactly deny the oil or the dispersants were toxic, he said he believed food poisoning was a “really big issue” and the likely cause:

“I’m sure they were genuinely ill, but whether it had anything to do with dispersants and oil, whether it was food poisoning, or some other reason for them being ill. You know, there’s a– food poisoning is a really big issue when you’ve got a concentration of this many people in ten pre-cabs, ten pre-accommodations. It’s something we have to be very, very mindful of. It’s one of the big issues of keeping the army operating. Armies march on their stomachs.”..

And conservative resident wing nut political babbler at the Washington Post Charles Krauthammer says the Deepwater Horizon man made disaster it is the environmentalist ultimately who are to blame and anybody who is too sentimental about the earth the environment or a whole regions way of life destroyed by BP's greed like the Appalachians West Virgina a whole culture is being destroyed by Mountaintop Removal Mining .

Environmentalists Are To Blame For BP Oil Spill
by RogerShuler via Daily Kos,May 31, 2010

Of all the words written and spoken about the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, perhaps the most off-the-charts statement comes from Charles Krauthammer, a conservative columnist for the Washington Post.

Who deserves the No. 1 spot in the blame game for a spill that is on the verge of reaching catastrophic proportions? Is it BP, Transocean, Halliburton, incompetent and corrupt government regulators?

Nope, Krauthammer tells us, it's none of the above. In his most recent piece, our guy Chuck seems to lay heavy blame at the feet of environmentalists. And as Dave Barry might say, "I'm not making this up!"

Stephen Harper's government claims to be taking the Deepwater Horizon Catastrophe and use it to improve Canada's regulations of oil rigs and especially those in deep water. If they actually follow through and perform honest inspections and oversight - it is just so often that a major accident occurs we discover government employees who either are ignored or they just play along take part in orgies ,all drugged up and raring to go -

BP oil spill prompts Canada to toughen drill rules By QMI Agency Via Toronto Sun : May 20, 2010

The board that regulates oil drilling off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador is beefing up oversight of Canada's deepest offshore oil well.

Earlier this month, Chevron Canada started drilling in the Orphan Basin, which is located about 430 km northeast of St. John's.

The oil well, the Lona O-5, is located a record-setting 2.5 km beneath the surface of the water - or 1 km deeper than the BP well that's been gushing about 800,000 litres of oil a day into the Gulf of Mexico since April 20, when an oil rig exploded off the coast of Louisiana, killing 11 workers.

The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB) has decided to take extra steps to ensure a similar catastrophe doesn't occur in the Orphan Basin.

"It is prudent practice for a regulator to conduct an internal review following an incident like the one in the Gulf of Mexico to determine if more can be done from an oversight perspective to address concerns about the risks of offshore drilling," said Sean Kelly, manager of public relations for C-NLOPB, in a statement.

Chevron, which has agreed to abide by the new regulations, must submit daily reports to an oversight board comprised of C-NLOPB's chief safety officer, chief conservation officer, members of its board's management team and other senior staff members.

They'll also be expected to meet with the board every two weeks to discuss matters of concern.

And more on BP's criminal negligence and the US Federal government & State Governments unwilling to enforce regulations or the laws of the land. The BP refinery explosion in 2005 Texas City caused by BP cutting corners happened under the Bush/Cheney Regime. So it was not President Obama's fault or the fault of actual workers and laborers.

David Senko, who was the construction manager for J.E. Merit on the day a series of explosions rocked the BP Texas City Refinery, says the management of the company have still not been held accountable for the fatal blasts that killed 11 of his workers. Fifteen people died and more than 170 injured in the March 23, 2005 explosions.

Markey calls for BP to prove claim of no underwater oil plume By the CNN Wire Staff May 31, 2010

Washington (CNN) -- Rep. Edward Markey on Monday challenged the assertion by oil giant BP's chief executive that no underwater oil plumes have formed because of the Gulf of Mexico spill.

In a letter to BP, Markey, D-Massachusetts, said scientific evidence showed such plumes have formed and he asked for BP CEO Tony Hayward to provide evidence to back up Hayward's claim Sunday that the spilled oil had gone to the surface.

On Sunday, Markey, who heads the House Energy and Environment subcommittee, had accused BP of issuing false statements about the oil spill.

"BP in this instance means 'Blind to Plumes,'" Markey said in a statement Monday.

There was no immediate response from BP.

Markey's letter to BP said "the confirmation of the presence of large quantities of oil sub-surface could help to inform clean-up and response efforts, and it is vital that there is unfettered access to all relevant data or analysis."

The letter noted that University of South Florida researchers recently reported finding a 22-mile-long plume of dispersed oil.

In a separate letter Monday to BP, Markey called for complete transparency regarding video feeds of the company's underwater operations. BP is launching a new effort to cut an opening to the leaking equipment so that a containment dome can be lowered on it.

"There cannot be any delay or gaps in our understanding of this situation, given that thousands of barrels of oil are spewing forth each day into the Gulf, with catastrophic long-term consequences," said Markey's letter to BP America head Lamar McKay, later adding: "BP should not be controlling the view the American public has of this disaster in our ocean."
