Taliban USA: Palin: No Abortions For Rape or Incest Victims & Rape Victims Paying for Rape Kits

Sarah Palin Rally 10/04/08

From at Huffington Post/ Palin Misquotes Madeline Albright/ oct. 5,2008 by Nico Pitney

At a rally on Saturday in California, Sarah Palin offered up a rather jarring argument for supporting the Republican ticket. "There's a place in Hell reserved for women who don't support other women," the Alaska Governor said, claiming she was quoting former Clinton Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.
The statement came after Palin had recounted a "providential" moment she experienced on Saturday: "I'm reading on my Starbucks mocha cup, okay? The quote of the day... It was Madeleine Albright, former Secretary of State [crowd boos] and UN ambassador. ... Now she said it, I didn't. She said, 'There's a place in Hell reserved for women who don't support other women.'"
Actually, Albright didn't say that. The accurate quote is, "There's a place in Hell reserved for women who don't help other women."
Albright responded to Palin's remarks in a statement to the Huffington Post on Sunday. "Though I am flattered that Governor Palin has chosen to cite me as a source of wisdom, what I said had nothing to do with politics. This is yet another example of McCain and Palin distorting the truth, and all the more reason to remember that this campaign is not about gender, it is about which candidate has an agenda that will improve the lives of all Americans, including women. The truth is, if you care about the status of women in our society and in our troubled economy, the best choice by far is Obama-Biden."

While complaining that Katie Couric didn't treat her fairly in her interview Sarah Palin gave proof that she is a true believer in the Bush/Cheney/ Karl Rove /Fox News belief in the " Liberal Media Conspiracy" in which Couric was out to get her and all patriotic Bible believing Americans , you Betcha. She showed her disdain for the media and her misunderstanding of the role of the media and a free press. She believes the press should feed her policies and beliefs to the American people without comment. She further believes the " Freedom of the Press " is not a right but a " privilege ". Therfore she believes that when she or some other Republican in power decides to shut down those in the " press " who are too critical of her or of Bush and the Iraqi War they have a right to do so. Her statements are becoming even bolder than Dick Cheney or Bush or Condoleeza Rice who distrust the press yet cynically have used the press to deliver their propaganda ie WMDS, the smoking gun a mushroom cloud & other nonsense . But Fox News and all the US networks bought into this nonsense because they truly believe that America has the right to do whatever it wants and the rest of the world be damned or because their stupid or ignorant or because they all wanted revenge for 9/11 and the death of a million Iraqis seemed to them justified.

...Palin, asked about her relationship with the media, said, "What I need to do is commit to not be so annoyed and impatient with mainstream media. And I will make that commitment because I do understand that that is how I speak to the American people. In a position like this, I speak to you and through you, and that way, that message is received by American people. So, I apologize for the the, I guess, flippant response that I gave through that interview on a couple of questions.

"But I would ask also, then, that the media tries a little bit harder also," Palin went on. "And that this is a two-way street, that there is fairness, just objectivity and fairness and truth. That's all Americans ask for."

"Objectivity?" Cameron asked. "Fairness?"

"As we send our young men and women overseas in a war zone to fight for democracy and freedoms, including freedom of the press, we've really got to have a mutually beneficial relationship here with those fighting the freedom of the press, and then the press, though not taking advantage and exploiting a situation, perhaps they would want to capture and abuse the privilege. We just want truth, we want fairness, we want balance

Anyway,Sarah Palin claimed that women should support her because " There is a special place reserved for Women who don't support other women" which she read on her Starbusks coffee cup. It was a quote from Madeline Albright but should read not " support " but rather "help". Well if so then Sarah Palin deserves a place in Hell since all of her policies go against the needs of women in America or elsewhere. She is anti-Abortion even in cases of rape and incest. In fact it appears that she has little sympathy or compassion for young girls or women who have been the victims of rape or incest. She believes that at the end of the day men should rule over women. Husbands have complete rights over their wives and women who cry rape are just out seeking attention or want to play the role of " victim "while they drag some man's good name in the mud as it were.

She is of the old school which we had hoped had been now discarded some forty years ago when few women reported being raped because of the stigma attached to it and the fact that the police and judges didn't take it all that seriously unless it was a white woman allegedly raped by a black man. (ala Birth of A Nation The White Supremicist' greatest fear )Otherwise women who alleged rape were treated as if they were the criminals.

She also has little interest in helping working poor single mothers by giving them more financial aid or help in furthering their education or training for a better job. She only wants to help those women who don't really need help. She has a typical Religious Right view that all those who do well in America deserve even more since God rewards the Godly and punishes the UnGodly. So if you are poor it is God's Will. She is therefore not interested in creating a Healthcare system which is free or affordable for all Americans anymore than she would want to support long term maternity leave during which time a woman receives an adequate income and has the right to return to her job. To her and many Americans such ideas are blasphemy. Nor has she said she would be in favor of equal pay for work of equal value or the ERA . Her policies will not help very many women and will leave most women worse off than they already are.

Paying for Rape Kits by victims it would seem is just another way to punish Rape victims or to discourage them from reporing rapes to authorities so that rapes would go unreported so that those in authority could then claim that the crime of rape was going down or as a way to sweep under the rug the crime of rape.

If women are not seen as human beings in their own right but rather as baby producing machines and that their needs, desires etc. don't really matter then rape for instance may therefore be dismissed as merely an upsetting and embarrasing moment for a woman but she shouldn't just use as a means to achieving the status of victimhood. According to the logic of Ultra-Conservatives and the Religious Right a woman must obey the men who are in authority over them that is their fathers, boyfiends, fiances, husbands, their male pastor & other men in positions of authority then they are mere objects and should not have the same rights as men.
For instance then it becomes according to this logic difficult for a wife to charge her husband with rape. Since the wife according to the Bible must submit to her husbands authority how then could he possibly rape her. At this point the woman is just another one of the man's possessions. We forget that not long ago this was the accepted status of women in our society Many people forget that the law stated that a man could not be charged with raping his wife. And further in the case of many rapes the accusation was often not taken seriously by police forces or by judges . If a woman got as far as getting to court she was often re-victimized by the legal system as the defence could question her character, i.e. was she wearing clothes which sent the men the wrong message that she was easy etc.;was she a virgin at the time of the rape; did she know the man or men involved; had she had sex with them before the alleged rape; how many men she had had sex with; was she drinking alcohol or taking drugs; was she in a place where in effect she was just asking for it etc.

And there have been questions raised of course over these issues for instance see the article at Jezebel.com
Debunking the Sarah Palin Rape Kit "Debunkers " Sept. 24, 2008

Spawned by a bunch of Republiblog chatter last week "debunking" the "theory" that Wasilla forced victims to pay for rape kits, the National Review's Jim Garaghty takes up his white armor and rushes to Sarah Palin's defense despite — as Feministing's Samhita points out — the basic facts are, well, facts. I.e., true! But who needs facts? I know I do.

Palin on Rape
Sarah Palin's policy on Rape Victims and charging the for their Rape Kit and Examination. Sick.

Just another way to discourage women from reporting rapes . It is odd that a woman should have so little compassion for another woman who was raped. There are Conservative and Religious Right women who believe these women who claim to have been raped are often of loose morals and possibly deserve what they get . Over the years especially since the mid 1980s & up to the present I have unfortunately had a few conservative women give me just such a lecture. They believed some of these women are just seeking attention or want to get back at boyfriend or husband or just men in general. These Conservative women wanting to fit in and seeking approval of the Conservative men around them tend to have the same views about women and such issues as rape or abortion.

It appears that Sarah Pali believes Rape & Incest Victims should not be permitted abortions. She is on the extreme of the Pro-life anti-abortion movement. But then again we always new that those who lead the pro-life movement are fanatical . They would insist that no abortions be performed even in the cases of rape or incest. So a 13 year old girl raped by her father would be forced to go through the pregnancy and have the child in effect re-victimizing the 13 year old. What matters is this new soul which is born according to the " Will of God ". Did this loving God also will the rape in the first place. Once again if everything that happens is the direct result of the " Will of God " then so is the rape. Are they concerned that the child born might turn out to be the Messiah or what.

As we have seen there has been legislation which would not permit abortion even if the woman's life is in the balance. But this makes sense if one believes that all women are is baby making machines.

Palin also state that she is against such contraceptive methods as the Morning After Pill . As for other contraceptive Pills taken by millions of women on a regular daily basis which in effect according to anti-abortionists cause an abortion by flushing out an already fertilized egg then these too must be prohibited.

Further if a fetus or even zygote is to be defined as a " person " from the moment of conception then abortion is therefore murder since there is a premeditated attempt to kill the unborn child whic is in fact a person with a soul.

Sarah Palin's Thoughts on Abortion- The Young Turks

In the video below CNN tries to muddy the waters somewhat when it comes to Palin's attitude towards rape victims. But they also report on the rise of rape and violence against women in Alaska about which Palin did little. Once again I would say given Palin religious ties men beating their wives or girlfriends is not much of an issue since women are to obey their husbands and the men in their lives. Therefore a man according to the Bible has a right to chastise or beat his wife or lover or daughter. He of course has the ultimate right about how he should treat his own children. Sounds more and more like the Taliban but with lipstick and other makeup and even sexy clothes . But the makeup and sexy clothes are not to please the woman but to please the men in her life who have ultimate say over her.

If things go this way will Canada become a refuge for American women seeking safe & legal abortions . What would Harper do ? My assumption is that he would bow to the Americans and return all such women to american authorities to do as they see fit with these "Fallen" women.

Oh yes , " You Betcha " McCain is also running for President along with Palin.

McCain supported by G. Gordon Liddy & other Nutbars & crooks. McCain doesn't want to talk about his policies which might be unpopular such as cut backs in Health Care, Social Security, Veterans Benefits and healthcare, Education, the EPA.and on and on- while giving out billions to billionaires and multi-millionionaires . Instead he'd rather run a smear campaign against Obama. Will the American voters fall for it.
Well given the ignorance and the attention span of a gnat don't be surprised. They voted for George Bush twice because he's a good old Boy & and an Evangelical nutbar who believes he's on a mission from God just like Sarah Palin it appears.
