Glenn Beck Complains Mainstream Media Is Lying About Numbers at 9/12 Project March On Washington & Justiying Insurrection

UPDATE: 3:20 PM & 3:53 PM Sunday Sept. 13, 2009

...The situation has many authorities worried. Militiamen, white supremacists, anti-Semites, nativists, tax protesters and a range of other activists of the radical right are cross-pollinating and may even be coalescing. In the words of a February report from law enforcement officials in Missouri, a variety of factors have combined recently to create "a lush environment for militia activity."

From Southern Poverty Law Center Aug. 12, 2009

Logo for 9/12 Project- the Don't Tread on Me logo is often associated with the more militant Radical Right groups and Patriots, Militias, Posse Commitas etc.

Glenn Beck claims Mass Media reports only tens of thousands showed up in Washington for Sept. 12 demonstration when in fact :
"...Not only were there as many as two million in D.C., but numerous cities in every state also held 9/12 and Tea Party protests.

You know, journalism died a long time ago, so I guess this shouldn’t even surprise anyone that the liberal state controlled media, who are basically stenographers for the Obama administration, would under report this event by oh, almost two million!

What grew out of a simple love for our nation, and inspiration from Fox News’ Glenn Beck, has turned into a serious movement that has been gaining steam since the concept was first announced by Glenn on his Fox News show in March of this year."

Now on the Home Page of Ralph Reeds Faith And Freedom Coalition Joe Wison is celebrated as an American Folk Hero.

>Oath Keepers is considered by the Southern Poverty Law Center as one of the more troubling Radical Right organizations which is cooperating with more mainstream anti-Obama anti-government anti-tax organizations. Is this a call to their supporters to be ready for an Insurrection.

Sean Hannity of Fox News gives his full support to Ralp Reed's Faith and Freedom Coalition.
Notice Grassfire.org begins by claiming that their organization represents "Patriotic Americans" So any American supporting Obama's administration and its policies is Not Patriotic and ipso facto "Traitors".

Ultra or Uber conservative Foster Friess condemns Obama's health reform as unAmerican
The Camp Fema "Conspiracy Theory" hysteria which once belonged to only those on the margins of the far right by such paranoid characters as Alex Jones has now become more mainstream amongst the Radical Right and the Religious Right as it is given credence by media personalities such as Glenn Beck.

Liberty Tour To Spread the word about the evils of Obama's Hidden Agenda

"So let us be blunt about it: we must use the doctrine of religious liberty to gain independence for Christian schools until we train up a generation of people who know that there is no religious neutrality, no neutral law, no neutral education, and no neutral civil government. Then they will get busy in constructing a Bible-based social, political and religious order which finally denies the religious liberty of the enemies of God."

[TheNews-Sentinel (Fort Wayne, Indiana), August 16, 1993]RANDALL TERRY (Founder of Operation Rescue and a close friend of the Catholic Archbishops of New York and Philadelphia)

"We must fight against those radical minorities who are trying to remove God from our textbooks, Christ from our nation. We must take back what is rightfully ours." (Moral Majority Sermon, March 1993) "I hope to see the day when, as in the early days of our country, we won't have any public schools. The churches will have taken them over again and Christians will be running them. What a happy day that will be."
(America Can Be Saved, 1979) JERRY FALWELL (Senior Pastor of Thomas Rhodes Baptist Church)

Time for Sunday's Sermon
First a word from the most influential leader of the Religious Right Francis A. Schaeffer from his book : A Christian Manifesto pub. 1982.The call for massive protests and even civil disobedience by UberConservatives such as Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs ,Michelle Malkin etc. was first laid out as a strategy by Francis A. Schaeffer in 1981. Schaeffer also outlines the conditions under which it becomes a civic and religious duty for the populace to engage in an insurrection against a government which has become a Tryanny.

In "A Christian Manifesto" Francis Schaeffer argues that a government which does not adhere to God's Law and the Bible the government then loses its authority over its citizenry. The citizens have the right to protest to commit to a strategy of civil disobedience and to using the ballot box and the courts to resist such a tyrannical government. But if these non-violent means do not produce results because those in power are determined to force their will on to the people it is then that the people have to consider a peaceful rebellion and if it does not succeed then armed rebellion is justifiable and even necessary and that further it becomes a duty of the True Christians.

"Thus in almost every place where the Reformation flourished there was not only religious noncompliance: there was civil disobedience as well p.99 Manifesto

It was in this setting that Samuel Rutherford (1600-1661) wrote his Lex Rex or The Law and The Prince. What is the concept in Lex rex very simply the law is king; and if the king and the government disobey the law they are to be disobeyed. And the law is founded on the Law of God...that the basic premise of civil government and, therefore, law, must be based on God's Law as given in the Bible...all men even the king are under the law and not above it. pp.99-100

and: Acts of the state which contradicted God's Law were illegitimate and acts of tyranny. Tyranny was defined as ruling without the sanction of God. and "that a tyrannical government is always immoral" as it is (... a licentious deviation of a power; and is no more from God, but from sinful nature and the old serpent, than a license to sin" Rutherford)

First since tyranny is Satanic , not to resist it is to resist God-to resist tyranny is to honor God.

Second , since the ruler is granted power conditionally, it follows that the people have the power to withdraw their sanction if the proper conditions are not fulfilled.

...therefore "citizens have a moral obligation to resist unjust and tyrannical government." p.101

And Francis Schaeffer outlines the conditions under which civil disobedience and insurrection would become justifiable he emphasizes that a ruler or government is not to be disposed of because of a single breach of the law
...Only when the magistrate (government) acts in such a way that the governing structure of the country is being destroyed-that is ,when he is attacking the fundamental structure of society-is he to be relieved of his power and authority..."

For instance according to Glenn Beck & Rush Limbaugh it would seem they believe that the time for civil disobedience and insurrection may have arrived. They describe the present conditions in America under the Obama administration as the most dangerous time in America -Beck argues that Obama is creating an army which will be used to enforce his commands etc. While Beck argues Obama may take complete control of the country overnight if he so decides while Limbaugh here sounding a little more reasonable believes that what he and Glenn Beck and Fox News etc. are doing by shedding light on Obama's hidden agenda may in fact mitigate against Obama taking such action.

Even though on the various websites of groups which support Glenn Beck's 9/12 project insist they claim of a "Zero Tolerance Policy' of engaging in racist slurs or comparing Obama to Hitler , Stalin Mao etc. we find an official 9/12 video which does just that.

Video comparing Obama to Hitler using images of Pearl harbor and the Twin Towers being hit on 9/11
The 9-12 Project
Glenn Beck will be anchoring the coverage of 9-12 events, live on Fox News on September 12, 2009 from 1-3pm ET. Spread the word...

Resist, Rebuild, Restore (Strategy Overview) resist.Net & Grassfire.org

Grassfire.org has launched this “Join The Resistance” campaign to give grassroots conservatives a place to join together around the common goal of holding off as much of the Obama agenda as possible. Our goal is to bring together hundreds of thousands of resisters this year. When combined with similar efforts from the tea party movement, Glenn Beck's 9-12 effort and others, together we can mount a successful, patriotic, idea-based resistance.

Web-Based Resistance
The key will be providing web-based structures that truly equip conservatives to Resist. Step #1 is the Join the Resistance Petition. This platform is the foundation for everything else we will do. A million-strong email network provides us with the ability to respond immediately to each and every effort by the Obama administration to undermine our liberties. If you have not yet signed the petition, please do so now.

ResistNet adds to this foundation a platform for social networking that will connect Resisters to others in their communities. Our goal is to give concerned citizens both a forum for ideas and a practical way to get involved. Ideally, anyone who is willing to invest their time in advancing this patriotic, idea-based resistance to this new wave of socialism would be able to contribute through ResistNet in two key areas: providing solid, idea-based content and helping to organize locally through our State Groups.

"SPLC Report: Return of the Militias" August 12, 2009

The 1990s saw the rise and fall of the virulently antigovernment "Patriot" movement, made up of paramilitary militias, tax defiers and so-called "sovereign citizens." Sparked by a combination of anger at the federal government and the deaths of political dissenters at Ruby Ridge, Idaho, and Waco, Texas, the movement took off in the middle of the decade and continued to grow even after 168 people were left dead by the 1995 bombing of Oklahoma City's federal building — an attack, the deadliest ever by domestic U.S. terrorists, carried out by men steeped in the rhetoric and conspiracy theories of the militias. In the years that followed, a truly remarkable number of criminal plots came out of the movement. But by early this century, the Patriots had largely faded, weakened by systematic prosecutions, aversion to growing violence, and a new, highly conservative president.

They're back. Almost a decade after largely disappearing from public view, right-wing militias, ideologically driven tax defiers and sovereign citizens are appearing in large numbers around the country. "Paper terrorism" — the use of property liens and citizens' "courts" to harass enemies — is on the rise. And once-popular militia conspiracy theories are making the rounds again, this time accompanied by nativist theories about secret Mexican plans to "reconquer" the American Southwest. One law enforcement agency has found 50 new militia training groups — one of them made up of present and former police officers and soldiers. Authorities around the country are reporting a worrying uptick in Patriot activities and propaganda. "This is the most significant growth we've seen in 10 to 12 years," says one. "All it's lacking is a spark. I think it's only a matter of time before you see threats and violence."

Olbermann Chastises Joe Wilson and Republicans For Their Lies and Fear-mongering and Beck 's Newest Victim

"The Flying Monkeys of the right wing media" Keith Olbermann

Keith Olbermann points out that it is rather hypocritical of any Republican including Joe Wilson to call President Obama a liar after eight years of continuous bombardment of lies, misinformation , deceit, spin, talking points and propaganda by the Bush/Cheney Regime. Bush lied about torture, renditions, abuse of prisoners, he lied about Saddam and Iraq etc.

Olbermann Joe Wilson

Jeff Schweitzer is upset by the Republican party's double standard as it either ignores Joe Wilson's out burst or rationalizes it and by doing so claim that Wilson is correct in his assumptions about President Obama that he is lying and has some sort of hidden nefarious agenda.

You Lie! by Jeff Schweitzer at Huffington Post, Sept. 11, 2009

The double standard held by Republicans has gone too far.

This hyper-partisanship is destroying our ability to solve our most pressing problems. Republicans have become delusional in thinking that anything done by the GOP is righteous and all actions on the left are threats to our life and liberty. Reason has been thrown out the door, replaced with a blinded, single-minded and hateful view of the world. They openly wish for Obama to fail, which if in reverse they would decry as anti-American. They actively seek to derail health care reform of any kind, no matter the cost of inaction to the nation’s long-term prosperity. They have redefined hypocrisy by ignoring failures on the right and blatantly lying about the left, often accusing Democrats of the very abuses perpetrated by Republicans. Think of the response to Joe Wilson’s ridiculous behavior. Think of family values, Mark Sanford and John Ensign. Speaking of which, why hasn’t Joe Wilson cried out “You lie!” when Mark Sanford speaks? Fox News routinely called Bush protesters unpatriotic, but applauded the tea party protests against Obama. We must no longer abide this repulsive blind bias and hypocritical intolerance.

President Obama said the time for action is now. He is right, and so too is it time to abandon any pretense of bipartisanship. We need to push the Republicans aside so that we may govern responsibly. Obama tried mightily to engage the other side, and in return he is denigrated as a Communist. A dialogue requires at least two parties; otherwise one is talking to oneself. That is now the case.

Evan Handler cannot understand what all the bickering and arguing is about since as far as he's concerned it is a no-brainer to overhaul the US health care system so that all Americans have good quality health care and this should be treated as their right. The question he raises is why are so many Americans unable to realize this and why are they acting in ways which are not in their own interests but in the interests of the Health Insurance Industry and others including Congressmen and Senators who profit by way of the unnecessary misery of the average American.

Have You No Decency, Sir? At Long Last, Have You No Sense of Decency? by Evan Handler at Huffington Post, Sept. 10, 2009

I'm pretty invested in this health care bill battle. First, twenty-four years ago, when I was 24 years old, I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. My medical treatments lasted over four years, cost close to half a million dollars, and were largely paid for by insurance coverage from my two acting unions, Actors Equity Association and Screen Actors Guild. Still, my family was forced to empty my bank account to meet official poverty levels (there wasn't very much to spend, at the time) in order to qualify for Social Security disability payments, and my years of illness nearly bankrupted my parents -- in spite of all the insurance coverage and assistance. I can tell you firsthand: even the most privileged among us are within a millimeter of losing everything to an unexpected illness. I was lucky enough to escape the clutches of what was then considered to be an incurable disease. I had my life. But I was left with nothing else. So, I'm puzzled, and amazed, and dismayed, by those who want health care reform legislation to be anything other than the most comprehensive and powerful it can possibly be.

Then there's my new family. My wife is from Italy. She, her parents, her grandparents, all her relatives, and all their friends have received prompt, capable, and comprehensive health care their entire lives, and it hasn't cost them a thing. They've had their teeth cleaned regularly, their cavities filled, gum tissue transplants, fused spinal discs, abdominal surgeries, you name it. They didn't wait any longer than anyone would here. Nothing was rationed or withheld. They were, and are, every age, from zero to 94. Their government makes sure that its citizens can visit the doctor, have surgeries, and take care of their health, period. It's a right of existence, and -- to judge by my wife's circle -- it's working well (and Italy ain't exactly known for things working well). For that matter, my wife also attended the high school of her choice free of charge, and a world renowned Italian University for $200 per year. Why wouldn't Americans want the same? If they do want it, why are these things being kept from them? Maybe a more pertinent question today is, why are they being encouraged and instructed to fear this kind of progress on the part of their government, which every other advanced nation's government in the world has already long embraced?

Predictably The ultraconservative Washington Times & other conservatives claim Obama failed in his speech on health care to satisfy or quell the fears of many Americans. They still believe that Obama is not completely honest about his health care reform . Obama was also the writer argues unable to satisfy the more progressive democrats.

Obama seen failing to sway health debate both Sides Still Bickering" by Jennifer Haberkom Washington Times Sept. 11,2009

President Obama's address to Congress Wednesday night did little to immediately convert factions in the Democratic party to unify behind a health care overhaul plan Thursday, and his call for an end to "bickering" was met by Republican carping that he failed to "reset" the debate.

Liberal House lawmakers said they still want to see the president embrace a government-sponsored public insurance option as part of any bill, and centrist Democrats said they remain worried about the price tag.

"I believe a costly government-run public option is the wrong direction for reform and I will not support it," Rep. Mike Ross, a moderate Blue Dog Democrat from Arkansas who has come out in opposition of the plan that he helped shepherd through committee, said in the aftermath of Mr. Obama's speech.

Wilson wins: Democrats put Joe Wilson anti-illegal immigration demands into health care bill by D.K. Jamaal September 11, The Examiner

But just as Sarah Palin’s “death panel” Facebook notes forced Democrats to remove end-of-life care counseling from the proposals, Joe Wilson appears to be winning the issue.

Remember, Joe Wilson is supposed to be a rude, classless, racist, right-wing demagogue – the crackpot face of the Republicans.

Yet Joe the Crackpot will, like Sarah Palin, get exactly what he wants: health coverage reserved for those with verified legal citizenship status.

Those who actually want real reform that includes a public option, however, will once again be left out in the cold.

Why does the purportedly fanatical right-wing keeps winning, while the reasonable progressive left keeps losing? Obama and the Democrats have no courage.

Maybe it is time for everybody else to start heckling the President. Maybe then we would get real health care reform instead of a giveaway to the private health insurance industry.

Meanwhile Glenn Beck is continuing his witch hunt to ferret out liberals, progressives, activists, socialists , communists, Fascist and collectivist.

Perhaps not coincidentally, both Sergant and Van Jones - Beck's first takedown - have roots in on-the-ground organizing and were tightly connected with the grassroots progressive community.

Obama Takes A Firm Stand On Health Care Reform And Will Not Accept The Status Quo

UPDATE: 2:12 PM, Sept. 09,2009

"We came here not to fear the future but to shape it" Obama

Anyway this is more like it kudos to Obama to finally come out fighting and not just appeasing and pandering to the Republicans, conservatives, the Religious Right and the Health Care Industry. So Obama finally takes on his political opponents on health care reform and the health insurance industry. Obama argued finally that health care is needed in order to bring about a furtherance of social justice in America . It is therefore not anti-American or UnAmerican to fight for health care reform. It is in fact an expression of the values and aspirations of America. To do otherwise would indicate that America in general does not care about the well being of their fellow citizens.

Obama takes a stand on health care reform and insists that health care reform is on the agenda and will remain there til there is better and improved coverage for all Americans. He points out that the health insurance industry is "the bad guy" and even the enemy in all of this and must become accountable to the American people and not just act in an arbitrary fashion to increase its profits.

Obama finally had the courage to take on those ideologues ie Republicans and conservatives and members of the Religious Right who 's only objective is to stop health care reform for their own political gain without any concern for what is needed to help out the average American citizen.

Obama points out some of the lies and misinformation being spread about health care reform and that from now on he and his administration will respond to any lies or misinformation being spread and promoted by his opponents .

Another brilliant move on his part when talking about the letter from Ted Kennedy which was not be opened til after his death Obama named some names of those who had helped Ted Kennedy in the past with needed health care reforms John McCain , Grassley, Hatch thereby undermining or at least neutralizing their opposition to health care reform. Because the question becomes are they really against health care reform or merely talking this way because they want to undermine the Obama administration without any concern for the needs of the country. Obama also reminded Americans that health care reform goes back as far as Teddy Roosevelt and has been an ongoing concern for every president Republican or Democrat since then.

Obama Health Reform Address Close - "The Character Of Our Country"

At the close of an address on health reform to Congress, President Obama reminds people: "I will not waste time with those who have made the calculation that it's better politics to kill this plan, than to improve it."

"If you misrepresent what's in this plan, we will call you out," he adds. "And I will not accept the status quo as a solution. Not this time. Not now."

He also talks about a letter he received from late Senator Ted Kennedy that was written in May, but delivered to Obama after Kennedy's death. In the letter, Ted called health reform "unfinished business" but was confident that "this is the year" that it would pass.

Obama also remarked on when it is necessary for government to step in.

Setting the record straight :Obama points out that "death panels" are a lie as is the assertion that health care would cover Illegal-immigrants and health care would not give coverage for abortions.

Obama: Death Panels Are "A Lie, Plain And Simple"

President Obama says during an address on health reform to Congress that death panels are "a lie," abortions would not be funded under the plan, and illegal immigrants would not benefit, to which an audience member - identified as Rep. Joe Wilson - shouted back, "Lie!"

He also comments that he does not want to put insurance companies out of business. "I just want to hold them accountable."

As a Canadian much of what Obama was saying about the character of the nation and that everyone should have affordable health care just seems obvious. We have had universal health care for some forty years now and we have not been changed into a communist collectivist country. We still have our basic rights and freedoms. Canadians are not told they must give up the notion of private property or ownership . Canadians contrary to what Americans have been told by Republicans and conservatives are not all forced to wear a Maoist style uniform. Canada still has free and fair elections though we have a multi-party system and not a two party system. Canadians are not restricted in their movements within or to travel outside our country. Our health care system is not perfect but it is a hundred percent better than the present system in the U.S.

In Canada out health care system does not have "Death Panels".
No one is told that they won't receive health care because they are old or denied health care because they are poor or because treatments might cost too much. The current health insurance model does these things while finding a hundred different excuses for not fulfilling their contracts with their clients ie cost too much, an unreported pre-existing condition which was either minor or the person did not even know about.

Of course I would prefer it if America would adopt a health care system more like that of Canada's. I also find it odd that so many Americans are concerned that abortion might be paid for by the new health care reform. Once again this goes against women's reproductive rights. But to some extent this has been a factor in fights over health care in Canada. There are many who are hostile to the setting up of abortion clinics in areas where women are at a disadvantaged in getting abortions. Even many so called "liberals" do not approve of abortion clinics.

In Canada unfortunately not all prescriptions are fully covered by our government medical plan and people who have a private plan such as Bluecross discover not everything is covered or only so much per year and Bluecross and other health insurers will do whatever they can to cut people off if they believe the costs outweigh their profit margin.

A more comprehensive health care plan in Canada should cover prescription drugs including birth control . But it should also cover eye care , eye glasses, routine appointments to eye care specialist Optometrists and opthamologists.

It should also cover dentistry so that routine yearly or bi-yearly checkups and cleanings are covered along with necessary fillings and other dental care.

and so it goes,
GORD.

David Sirota :Obama Should Be Listening To His Supporters Rather Than Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity & Rush Limbaugh et al

Update: 1:37 PM,4:53 PM Sept. 09, 2009

A mother in America expresses her uncontrollable fear and anxiety over President Obama giving a speech nationwide to school children . The Republicans and the Religious Right et al are worried Obama would try to indoctrinate America's children with his super-hypnotic powers to help him create a Collectivist Communistic state.

Tuesday, September 8, 2009 by The Gayly Show
Obama Has Awakened a Sleeping Giant
... Who Is Simply Too Angry to Scrap Book by Alan Cross

Alan Cross, a comedy writer in New York City and a former writer for Saturday Night Live, was able to get this exclusive interview while on assignment with CNN:

Meanwhile Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly gloat over the fact that Glenn Beck was in great part responsible for Van Jones' resignation. Beck continues not just to smear Van Jones but goes on a rant attacking and maligning Obama as a hidden Marxist and Collectivists. Beck has become the new re-branded Sen. Joseph McCarthy - it is game over if Beck decides to go after somebody whether its the president of the United States Mr. Rogers or Pee Wee Herman their TOAST!!!

And the Mainstream Media in America refuses to stand up to Glenn Beck and the other Talk Radio & TV right wing THUGS. Will Beck's influence and his ratings increase as all those who cower in fear of him remain silent. Meanwhile the Mainstream Media ignores a real journalist such as Bill Moyers who criticizes Obama as being too timid and not insisting on a public -option. .

The other pressing question is who will Obama now take his orders from Glenn Beck et al and the Neocons, the Republicans and the Religious Right and the anti-liberal Neo-Liberals or those millions who supported Barack Obama at the time of the election or is he going to just throw all the progressives and real liberals under the bus.

Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck on Van Jones' In-the-Middle-of-the-Night Resignation Sept. 9, 2009

And it seems progressives in the Democratic party are not going to back down in insisting on real substantive health care reform which includes a robust public option.
Tuesday, September 8, 2009 by The Real News Network
Rep. Edwards to Insist on Robust Public Option

David Sirota complains that Obama is not listening to his progressive supporters on the health care issue or other issues but rather is too concerned with appeasing the Republicans, Blue-dog Democrats and critics such as Glenn Beck and the Mainstream Media who are more interested in defending the status quo or a conservative ideology than doing what's best for the average Americans and the 47 million uninsured Americans. Obama should keep to his campaign promise for a real substantive reform of health care and not just more useless tinkering with the system as it is.

"Glenn Beck, Obama's White House, and the Progressive Movement" by David Sirota, Openleft.com via CommonDreams.org,Sept. 8, 2009

... right now, today's White House officials answer more to Glenn Beck, Blue Dogs and Republicans than it does to progressive members of Congress and the progressive base of the Democratic Party that got them into the White House in the first place. You can see that in the negotiations over health care and climate change. You can see that in the plans to escalate the war in Afghanistan at the urging of people like Karl Rove, and the refusal to stop Wall Street bailouts and push real Wall Street reform. You can see that even in who the president opts to give exclusive interviews to. You can, in short, see it everywhere.

Progressives don't just "believe" they deserve a seat at the table - we actually do deserve that seat, not just because we worked to elect this president, but because our stance on major issues like the public option, climate change, Wall Street reform and the war are the majoritarian positions in America. That's not speculation - polls show that's an empirical fact.

But we won't get that seat at the table unless we demand it. That means the Washington-based progressive groups have to stop kissing the White House's ass and selling out their grassroots membership. It means rank-and-file Obama supporters have to stop framing legitimate progressive pressure on Obama as some sort of disloyal desire to see Mitt Romney elected President in 2012.

It means, as I said in my last newspaper column, that we have to start thinking and acting like a real movement, and not just like sycophantic political partisans. If we do that, we'll get that seat at the table - and more importantly, we'll get the legislative results Obama originally promised, but now hesitates to champion.

and many of Obama's supporters are losing patience with him as he backs down back-peddles gives into pressure from the right from the rich and powerful who appear to have him under their control. Even one of his chief advisers during the election campaign is now criticizing Obama and yet hoping Obama will do something bold and surprise everyone. But Obama has got to give up on this appeasement mindset which really means making no real substantive change because it might upset Glenn Beck or Newt Gingrich and other right wing hate monger extremists.

Adviser Losing Patience With Obama by Ben Smith at politico.com,Sept.8, 2009 via CommonDreams

One of President Barack Obama’s former top campaign advisers is “losing patience” with the White House, he told POLITICO Tuesday morning, as frustrations among the president’s liberal allies crest over issues from health care legislation to gay rights.

“I am one of the millions of frustrated Americans who want to see Washington do more than it's doing right now,” said Steve Hildebrand, the deputy campaign manager who oversaw the Obama campaign’s field organization and was an architect of his early, crucial victories over Sen. Hillary Clinton in Iowa and South Carolina.

Obama, he said, “needs to be more bold in his leadership.”

“I’m not going to just sit by the curb and let these folks get away with a lack of performance for the American people,” he said, speaking of Washington’s Democratic leadership as a whole. “I want change just as much as a majority of Americans do, and I’m one of the many Americans who are losing patience.”

Hildebrand is by far the most senior member of Obama’s political team to express public doubts about the White House, though he had already begun to part ways with Obama’s other top aides as the 2008 presidential campaign wore on.

...“The problem is, Obama isn’t listening enough,” Hildebrand said, according to the report. “I love him, I love Michelle, I want him to succeed, but all of us need to put pressure on him and Congress to do the right things. The American people put confidence in the Democrats because they thought we could get things done, and if we fail, they’re not going to give it back.”

“I gave up a lot to elect Democrats, and I expect them to give it up for me. I’m going to speak loudly. The Republicans don’t have power unless the moderates and the Blue Dogs give it to them — which is what they’re doing now,” he said in the speech.

Hildebrand also said, according to the Zenger’s report, that that 2009 is shaping up to be “1993 all over again.” He told POLITICO he blames moderate Democrats in the House and Senate for the party’s weakness.

Ray McGovern chimes in with his version of the speech Obama should give on health care to Congress in which Obama pushes for a strong Public Option or as close to Universal health care Obama can get.

Help for Obama's Speech to Congress :The Speech the President Should Give to Congress, September 9, 2009 by Ray McGovern CommonDreams.org, Sept 8,2009

...A new strategy will kill two birds with one stone. That strategy finds the money for health care reform by curbing wasteful, self-defeating spending on the military — spending that is making us less, not more, safe. Stay tuned.

First, health care:

Last year I promised to do all I could to ensure that all of you — that is, every single American — would be able to get affordable health care. I said elect me President and then hold me accountable.

You did your part. This evening I will give you a preliminary accounting.

But, first a question. How many of you members of Congress do not have affordable health care?

I’m serious. And the nation is curious.

Okay, let’s do it this way. Any Senator or Representative who does not have affordable health care, please rise.

No one is standing up.

Now a more important question: How many of you Senators and Representatives will stand up for legislation that will give ALL Americans essentially the same access to health care that you enjoy?

I’m dead serious. You and I and the families of members of Congress can get all the health care we need, while millions of Americans cannot.

Again, please rise if you want everyone to have equal access to quality medical care. Rise if you believe it is wrong to consider some Americans, like us, more equal than others.

Thank you. I invite those of you standing to sit down.

and so it goes,
GORD.

Kudos To" The Liberal Viewer:Fox News Still Smearing Van Jones" And "How Washington Is Screwing Up Health Care Reform"

UPDATE: 1:14 PM & 2:58 PM Sept. 8, 2009

Here's an example of Republican and conservatives fear mongering about healthcare reform. Posted on Right Wing anti-healthcare reform website "60 Plus Association"

But their argument is just plain wrong. There is no plan to make cuts to healthcare which would harm America's senior citizens. It is the healthcare industry which wastes 300 billion a year . If the United States overhauled the healthcare system to Universal Healthcare all Americans would benefit and the Healthcare Insurance Industry would no longer be standing between American citizens right to healthcare and the hospitals ,medical professionals. The problem is as bill Moyers and a few others have pointed out healthcare shouldn't be treated as just another commodity to be sold to consumers based upon profit margins or Cost benefit analysis. Healthcare in other countries is treated as a basic right in a civilized nation. Instead the Republicans, conservatives and Neo-liberals argue that those who can not afford decent healthcare should not be helped out in any way shape or form because afterall they argue it is the individuals fault if they can not afford decent healthcare so "screw them".

But hasn't this always been an American traditional value that caring about the poor and other "LOSERS" is a sign of weakness. The American philosophy has always been to reward the prosperous and therefore the FITTEST while ignoring or punishing those who are not the FITTEST. Odd how Republicans, the Religious Right ,Neoconservatives and even Neo-liberals buy into this 19th century era Social Darwinism while other civilized nations in Europe and elsewhere have abandoned this heartless, cold soulless extremist Dog-Eat -Dog philosophy of humanity. The attitude could be summed up as "To each whatever he can get by any means necessary and to hell with those who cannot compete" . See for instance the book American Backlash by Michael Adams 2005 in which he details that growing acceptance of violence and of torture by American society is a factor of American's lack of "empathy" for others and their "winners versus Losers " philosophy ( Gospel of Prosperity) which is then dressed up in quasi-Christian language to justify such an ANTI-CHRISTIAN message. How else can American Christians justify their mania for Material Wealth, consumerism and related beliefs such Self-interest , selfishness, hedonism, one-upmanism , and a lack of concern for one's well being that is divorced from the amassing of material wealth. In America the "pursuit of Happiness" is equated in fact with material wealth and being more prosperous than your neighbors.

On the other hand the same people who accept this form of Social Darwinism reject Darwin's scientific theory of evolution because they claim it is blasphemy, an abomination, pernicious , an all corrupting world review which is anti-GOD and Anti-Christian. But how can they claim that "Social Darwinism is a statement on Natural Law which they believe supports unfettered "Laissez-Faire " Capitalism while rejecting that humanity has evolved as a life-form out of the evolution of life-forms on earth over the last 4 billion years.

Odd too how Americans claim to be the nation chosen by God and that they see themselves as the "Real Christians" and yet they reject most of Jesus' teachings especially THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT" But their version of Jesus is a middle-class businessman who prefers the company of the successful, the prosperous and the wealthy. As Pastor Hagee says about the poor "LET THEM STARVE !!! " What he and other believers in American Christianity claim is that God rewards the prosperous who by definition are God's Chosen People and the poor and others who are not successful are HATED by God and Jesus as they are unworthy and so get to not just suffer in this life but also for all eternity in the Christian Hell.

Don't pay for health care reform on the backs of our seniors.

Here's another excellent video from The Liberal Viewer at Youtube this time he is focusing on how Republicans and Fox News helped to smear Van Jones leading to his resignation. The smear was based on exaggeration and misrepresentation of the facts.

Fox News Smears Van Jones on His Way Out?

The resignation last week of Van Jones, the Special Advisor for Green Jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, did not stop the smearing of Van Jones on Fox News this week, as I show in this video.

The two clips of Megyn Kelly I use in this video come from Fox News' program "America's Newsroom" broadcast on September 7, 2009

The two clips of Howard Dean I use in this video come from Fox News' program "Fox News Sunday" broadcast on September 6, 2009.

And still the left and right continue to fight "all sound and fury signifying nothing"-the right makes wild claims about the Obama administrations health care reform claiming it is part of his secret agenda to turn America into a collectivist communist nation.

While in reality as reported by liberals and progressives the Obama administration's health care reforms are really just a bit of tinkering with a failing system that provides little help to many Americans while leaving some 47 million without any health insurance. But if more people are added to the system it will mainly benefit the health insurance industry Big Pharma private run hospitals etc. So little change will take place if Obama continues on his path of appeasement to the Republicans, the conservative movement, the Hate Radio & TV crowd of fear mongers and his surrender to the America Medical industry which has little sympathy for the average Americans since it is operated and motivated upon ever increasing profits.

In the end Bill Moyers appears to be right on the money when he describes the fight over health care "The Biggest Show/con-game /circus/on earth.

How Washington is Screwing Up Health Care Reform – and Why It May Take a Revolt to Fix It By Matt Taibbi "Rolling Stone" Sept. 7,2009

-- Let's start with the obvious: America has not only the worst but the dumbest health care system in the developed world. It's become a black leprosy eating away at the American experiment - a bureaucracy so insipid and mean and illogical that even our darkest criminal minds wouldn't be equal to dreaming it up on purpose.

The system doesn't work for anyone. It cheats patients and leaves them to die, denies insurance to 47 million Americans, forces hospitals to spend billions haggling over claims, and systematically bleeds and harasses doctors with the specter of catastrophic litigation. Even as a mechanism for delivering bonuses to insurance-company fat cats, it's a miserable failure: Greedy insurance bosses who spent a generation denying preventive care to patients now see their profits sapped by millions of customers who enter the system only when they're sick with incurably expensive illnesses.

The cost of all of this to society, in illness and death and lost productivity and a soaring federal deficit and plain old anxiety and anger, is incalculable - and that's the good news. The bad news is our failed health care system won't get fixed, because it exists entirely within the confines of yet another failed system: the political entity known as the United States of America.

Just as we have a medical system that is not really designed to care for the sick, we have a government that is not equipped to fix actual crises. What our government is good at is something else entirely: effecting the appearance of action, while leaving the actual reform behind in a diabolical labyrinth of ingenious legislative maneuvers.

Over the course of this summer, those two failed systems have collided in a spectacular crossroads moment in American history. We have an urgent national emergency on the one hand, and on the other, a comfortable majority of ostensibly simpatico Democrats who were elected by an angry population, in large part, specifically to reform health care. When they all sat down in Washington to tackle the problem, it amounted to a referendum on whether or not we actually have a functioning government.

...Heading into the health care debate, there was only ever one genuinely dangerous idea out there, and that was a single-payer system. Used by every single developed country outside the United States (with the partial exceptions of Holland and Switzerland, which offer limited and highly regulated private-insurance options), single-payer allows doctors and hospitals to bill and be reimbursed by a single government entity. In America, the system would eliminate private insurance, while allowing doctors to continue operating privately.

In the real world, nothing except a single-payer system makes any sense. There are currently more than 1,300 private insurers in this country, forcing doctors to fill out different forms and follow different reimbursement procedures for each and every one. This drowns medical facilities in idiotic paperwork and jacks up prices: Nearly a third of all health care costs in America are associated with wasteful administration. Fully $350 billion a year could be saved on paperwork alone if the U.S. went to a single-payer system - more than enough to pay for the whole goddamned thing, if anyone had the balls to stand up and say so.

Everyone knows this, including the president. Last spring, when he met with Rep. Lynn Woolsey, the co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, Obama openly said so. "He said if he were starting from scratch, he would have a single-payer system," says Woolsey. "But he thought it wasn't possible, because it would disrupt the health care industry."

Huh? This isn't a small point: The president and the Democrats decided not to press for the only plan that makes sense for everyone, in order to preserve an industry that is not only cruel and stupid and dysfunctional, but through its rank inefficiency has necessitated the very reforms now being debated. Even though the Democrats enjoy a political monopoly and could have started from a very strong bargaining position, they chose instead to concede at least half the battle before it even began.

...It's a joke, the whole thing, a parody of Solomonic governance. By the time all the various bills are combined, health care will be a baby not split in half but in fourths and eighths and fractions of eighths. It's what happens when a government accustomed to dealing on the level of perception tries to take on a profound emergency that exists in reality. No matter how hard Congress may try, though, it simply is not possible to paper over a crisis this vast.

Then again, some of the blame has to go to all of us. It's more than a little conspicuous that the same electorate that poured its heart out last year for the Hallmark-card story line of the Obama campaign has not been seen much in this health care debate. The handful of legislators - the Weiners, Kuciniches, Wydens and Sanderses - who are fighting for something real should be doing so with armies at their back. Instead, all the noise is being made on the other side. Not so stupid after all - they, at least, understand that politics is a fight that does not end with the wearing of a T-shirt in November.

And now a commentary on an article published at Right-wing website "Let Freedom Ring".

Obama Takes a Page From Alinsky Handbook at Freedom News at Let Freedom Ring Sep 7, 2009

Obama told his supporters their mass support would be essential to keeping the pressure on Washington to accomplish his goals.

Since taking office, Obama has not ceased engaging in activities that could derive from Alinsky’s playbook.

What appears to some as the president’s apparent flip-flop on healthcare could be one example. In 2003, Obama told an NAACP gathering that he favored a single-payer system as the way to reform healthcare, but by the time the 2008 campaign came around he adopted a more pragmatic approach that he has kept into the present debate.

“If I were designing a system from scratch, I would probably move in the direction of a single-payer plan,” Obama told a gathering of community organizers on Dec. 1, 2007, at the Iowa Heartland Presidential Forum.

Obama’s actions make perfect sense because Alinsky instructed organizers to be “pragmatic” and “nondogmatic” in pursuit of their goals, and to view compromise as a “key and beautiful word.”

He taught that organizers should always adapt to changing situations, and Obama has likely correctly identified that it is impossible to pass a single-payer system through Congress at this point in time.

“If you start with nothing, and demand 100 percent, then compromise for 30 percent, then you are 30 percent ahead,” Alinsky wrote.

Alinsky also advised that revolution can only happen after a period of “reformation” because a revolution needs popular support to survive; consequently, compromise becomes a revolutionary tool. And Obama likely will compromise on healthcare to get “30 percent” closer to his ideal situation of a single-payer system over time if he continues to follow the lessons he learned from Alinsky.

Both Obama and his administration have mastered the use of Alinsky’s 13th Rule for Radicals, which calls for organizers to “pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

His administration has singled out opponents such as talk show host Rush Limbaugh in an effort to polarize the nation against him and ridiculed him as “the leader of the Republican Party,” although the effort ultimately failed.

Obama’s underlings have also turned their efforts polarization and ridicule efforts against diverse groups of people, including corporate CEOs, the “Birthers” who question his legitimacy and opponents in the healthcare debate who have been labeled as “crazies.”

-
What the article presents is the view that Obama and his supporters unfairly without justification targeted Rush Limbaugh, corporate CEOs, the Birthers etc. What is of note is that the writers are giving some credibility to such conspiracy theorists as "the Bithers" and the cantankerous racist views of Rush Limbaugh and other Hate Radio talk show hosts and the propaganda spread by Fox News esp. Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck & Lou Dobbs at CNN.

The article suggest that CEOs almost never do wrong and whatever they do is in the end somehow good for the country. So CEO increasing their salaries by 2or 3 hundred percent and their lavish life style supported by the corporations . So CEOs deciding to shut down industrial plants or even Telemarketing outlets to have these plants shipped to foreign countries where they get employees at less pay and benefits than what they would have to pay American workers. Or if a company is losing money and still insists on more outrageous salary increases and bonuses for CEOs while telling its employees that they must tighten their belts and agree to wage cuts and the loss of some of their benefits this again is somehow good for America. Or when CEOs fly company jets around the country to attend meetings rather than travel by commercial airline or just have these meetings take place through tele-conferencing this too benefits the American people. Part of the Big Lie is that these self-interested greedy power hungry CEOs are actually concerned about the American people. They may care about America as a place where they can do business without all the restrictions which other nations governments have put into plac. But these are not "Real Patriots" if there was somewhere outside the US they could go and make even greater profits and have fewer regulation restrictions and where the taxes on their profits were less most of these CEOs would ditch America in a heart beat.

For instance the Republicans and the Conservatives in the health care debate tend to gloss over the outrageous profits of the Medical industry including the health insurance industry. There are several reasons for their profits. One they increase the premiums people pay and increase the deductibles while refusing to take on people as clients for instance have a pre-existing medical condition or are a high risk group and if they do take them on as clients they do so by raising their premiums even more and then there's the fact that many Americans who have health insurance discover due to the fine print that some medical expenses are not covered and if a client is faced with a catastrophic medical condition the insurance company may according to its contract with the client just arbitrarily cut the client off from any pay-out. These contracts are often written in somewhat obscure or arcane legalese in such a way that the health insurance company can quite often get away with not giving financial help to clients who find themselves facing expensive ,serious and long term medical needs.

But who then benefits the health insurance companies but also Big Pharma and the private medical industry which also insists that it needs to increase its profits year after year and therefore charge higher and higher rates for their services without any real government oversight . So the insurance industries increases premiums because Big Pharma and the private hospitals increase their charges for their services One cannot expect an industry to just regulate itself when its only raison d'etre is profit and not the well being of the average American.

So the whole Medical industry from health insurance to pharmaceutical companies to corporate run hospitals and clinics are part of an ongoing PONZI SCHEME which make a few people quite rich while others who can not afford the services being offered are left to suffer and to die and this many Americans believe this is just how the system ought to work. They believe if you are not financially successful that's nobody's fault but your own and so why should those who are successful give a hoot about someone whom they see as a failure. This they believe is the Natural law of the Capitalist Jungle in which the strongest and the fittest survive- those who don't survive are those who are not worthy of survival they are too lazy, too stupid or not healthy enough physically or mentally to be part of the American ethos of winner take all and the losers be damned.

Bill Moyers : Obama We Need A Fighter !!! & America: A Culture Of Cruelty

Bill Moyers argues that President Obama has to stop trying to be nice to those who oppose him. He should stand up and insist on real substantive Health Care Reform by which the 47 million Americans without health care will finally get health care. Moyers is unfortunately whistling in the wind because Obama is just another weak-willed timid politician who doesn't have the stomach for an all out no-holds-barred- fight with his opponents who are either misinformed or just want to help out the rich and the vested interests 0f the Medical/Health industry and the PEOPLE BE DAMNED. The People as such the Republicans and their Fellow-Travelers state quite bluntly will do as they are told by their BETTERS.
Bill Moyers Special Comment to Obama - "Mr. President. We need a fighter."
America is the best show on earth .

...The ideology of hardness and cruelty runs through American culture like an electric current, sapping the strength of social relations and individual character, moral compassion and collective action, offering up crimes against humanity that become fodder for video games and spectacularized media infotainment, and constructing a culture of cruelty that promotes a "symbiosis of suffering and spectacle." As Chris Hedges argues,

Sadism is as much a part of popular culture as it is of corporate culture. It dominates pornography, runs ... through reality television and trash-talk programs and is at the core of the compliant, corporate collective. Corporatism is about crushing the capacity for moral choice. And it has its logical fruition in Abu Ghraib, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and our lack of compassion for the homeless, our poor, the mentally ill, the unemployed and the sick.

Quote from "Living in a Culture of Cruelty: Democracy as Spectacle" by Henry A. Giroux, Truthout.or, Sept. 2,2009

And here are some examples of that hardness and cruelty and lack of empathy in the following examples of quotes by Hate Mongering racist Rush Limbaugh the darling of the Republican party and the Conservative movement in the United States.
This is what passes for civil discourse in America today.

I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark. Rush Limbaugh

You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [the confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you, James. Godspeed.

Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?

The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies

They’re 12 percent of the population. Who the hell cares?

Take that bone out of your nose and call me back(to an African American female caller).

Borrowed From :Top 10 Racist Limbaugh Quotes By Casey Gane-McCalla Newsone.com October 20, 2008

and an example of one of the videos on Gane-McCalla's site:
Limbaugh’s Racist Rant on Obama

and from Rev. Falwell & Pat Robertson -those two paragons of morality and religious fervor speaking for God and Jesus-

On the terror attacks of September 11, 2001:

Jerry Falwell:"The ACLU's got to take a lot of blame for this."

Pat Robertson: "Well, yes."

Jerry Falwell: "And I know I'll hear from them for this, but throwing God out successfully with the help of the federal court system, throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools, the abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans and the abortionists and the feminists and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way, – all of them who try to secularize America – I point the thing in their face and say 'you helped this happen'."

Pat Robertson: "I totally concur, and the problem is we've adopted that agenda at the highest levels of our government, and so we're responsible as a free society for what the top people do, and the top people, of course, is the court system."

-- The 700 Club,
September 13, 2001

Millions of supposedly sane and intelligent American Christians just sat around nodding their heads on hearing these insane irrational statements by Pat Robertson and the late Rev. Jerry Falwell though some were hopeful that this event was the sign of the Last Days & the Rapture.

Meanwhile Obama's adviser Van Jones is attacked for signing a petition which he believed was merely to investigate the 9/11 attacks to discover what may have gone wrong was the Bush government merely asleep at the wheel or were there steps they could have taken or was it beyond any one's ability or imagination to contemplate such a series of events ?

As Henry A. Giroux points out America is a society which lacks sympathy or empathy for those who for wahatever reason fall on hard times. The attitude is that people who prosper prosper because they are worthy somehow whether they were born into wealth or worked for it. The winners is what Americans celebrate not the losers . As far as the winners are concerned the losers are not worth even giving a second thought to.

Living in a Culture of Cruelty: Democracy as Spectacle by Henry A. Giroux, Truthout.or, Sept. 2,2009

...Increasingly, many individuals and groups now find themselves living in a society that measures the worth of human life in terms of cost-benefit analyzes. The central issue of life and politics is no longer about working to get ahead, but struggling simply to survive. And many groups, who are considered marginal because they are poor, unemployed, people of color, elderly or young, have not just been excluded from "the American dream," but have become utterly redundant and disposable, waste products of a society that not longer considers them of any value. How else to explain the zealousness in which social safety nets have been dismantled, the transition from welfare to workfare (offering little job training programs and no child care), and recent acrimony over health care reform's public option? What accounts for the passage of laws that criminalize the behavior of the 1.2 million homeless in the United States, often defining sleeping, sitting, soliciting, lying down or loitering in public places as a criminal offence rather than a behavior in need of compassionate good will and public assistance? Or, for that matter, the expulsions, suspensions, segregation, class discrimination and racism in the public schools as well as the more severe beatings, broken bones and damaged lives endured by young people in the juvenile justice system? Within these politics, largely fueled by market fundamentalism - one that substitutes the power of the social state with the power of the corporate state and only values wealth, money and consumers - there is a ruthless and hidden dimension of cruelty, one in which the powers of life and death are increasingly determined by punishing apparatuses, such as the criminal justice system for poor people of color and/or market forces that increasingly decide who may live and who may die

...A right-wing spin machine, influenced by haters like Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Michael Savage and Ann Coulter, endlessly spews out a toxic rhetoric in which: all Muslims are defined as jihadists; the homeless are not victims of misfortune but lazy; blacks are not terrorized by a racist criminal justice system, but the main architects of a culture of criminality; the epidemic of obesity has nothing to do with corporations, big agriculture and advertisers selling junk food, but rather the result of "big" government giving people food stamps; the public sphere is largely for white people, which is being threatened by immigrants and people of color, and so it goes.

Glenn Beck, the alleged voice of the common man, appearing on the "Fox & Friends" morning show, calls President Obama a "racist" and then accuses him of "having a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture." Nationally syndicated radio host Rush Limbaugh unapologetically states that James Early Ray, the confessed killer of Martin Luther King Jr., should be given a posthumous Medal of Honor, while his counterpart in right-wing hate, talk radio host Michael Savage, states on his show, "You know, when I see a woman walking around with a burqa, I see a Nazi. That's what I see - how do you like that? - a hateful Nazi who would like to cut your throat and kill your children." He also claims that Obama is "surrounded by terrorists" and is "raping America." This is a variation of a crude theme established by Ann Coulter, who refers to Bill Clinton as a "very good rapist."

Even worse, Obama is a "neo-Marxist fascist dictator in the making," who plans to "force children into a paramilitary domestic army." And this is just a small sampling of the kind of hate talk that permeates right-wing media. This could be dismissed as loony right-wing political theater if it were not for the low levels of civic literacy displayed by so many Americans who choose to believe and invest in this type of hate talk. On the contrary, while it may be idiocy, it reveals a powerful set of political, economic and educational forces at work in miseducating the American public while at the same time extending the culture of cruelty. One central task of any viable form of politics is to analyze the culture of cruelty and its overt and covert dimensions of violence, often parading as entertainment.

Underlying the culture of cruelty that reached its apogee during the Bush administration, was the legalization of state violence, such that human suffering was now sanctioned by the law, which no longer served as a summons to justice. But if a legal culture emerged that made violence and human suffering socially acceptable, popular culture rendered such violence pleasurable by commodifying, aestheticizing and spectacularizing it...

and Giroux concludes

...The ideology of hardness and cruelty runs through American culture like an electric current, sapping the strength of social relations and individual character, moral compassion and collective action, offering up crimes against humanity that become fodder for video games and spectacularized media infotainment, and constructing a culture of cruelty that promotes a "symbiosis of suffering and spectacle." As Chris Hedges argues,

But here is another illustration which shows that President Obama and his Defence Secretary Robert Gates are also in the business as the Bush/Cheney Regime was in the use of draconian censorship of the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan so Americans could continue to believe it is a sanitized war with few casualties though some 5,000 Americans have dies and in Iraq some million to a million and a half Iraqis have died . But the slaughtering of innocents by American forces is still kept under the radar in America though the rest of the world has been seeing the carnage since the war first began. Journalists that is "Real Journalists" from other countries have gone into Iraq to get a picture of the reality of the war and so are no embedded with American or British forces who control the information they get and what they get to see and what they are not permitted to see. But it is hard to say if Americans might view the war differently if they saw photos and videos of the slaughtered innocents since Abu Ghraib was a bombshell outside America but inside America it was treated as soldiers just having a little fun so what can we expect from those who are at the center of the American Empire like the French, the Spanish, the Dutch, and the British etc. before them they have little regard for other peoples or nations. Those peoples and nations for the American Empire are just a means to their ends, their interests even if it just a matter of letting loose on a people ie Iraqis to avenge America for something these people had nothing to do with.Bloodletting is the goal and war is merely the game.

"Sanitizing War and Occupation Photo of Dying Marine Draws Fire from Pentagon" By Matthew Shaer via Information Clearing House

September 05, 2009 "CSM" -- - Defense Secretary Robert Gates has condemned the Associated Press decision to release a photograph of a US Marine wounded during a battle in the Helmand province of southern Afghanistan. The Marine, Lance Cpl. Joshua M. Bernard of New Portland, Maine, was struck by a rocket-propelled grenade in a Taliban ambush on Aug. 14. He later died of his wounds.

In the AP photograph, Bernard is pictured lying on his side on a sandy slope. The image is blurry, but Bernard appears to be bleeding; two other Marines stand over him, attending to his wounds. The caption, titled “Afghanistan Death of a Marine,” identifies the location as the village of Dahaneh. The photographer is Julie Jacobson, who also took the image at the top of this post. The AP reports that Bernard later died on the operating table at a nearby field hospital.

“AP journalists document world events every day. Afghanistan is no exception,” Santiago Lyon, the wire services’ director of photography, said in a statement. “We feel it is our journalistic duty to show the reality of the war there, however unpleasant and brutal that sometimes is.” In a story on the ambush, the AP reported that Bernard’s death came during the “deadliest month of the deadliest year since the U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001.

White House Adviser Resigns Amid 9/11 Controversy CNN Sep. 3,2009 via truthout.org

Washington - Presidential adviser Van Jones is resigning after coming under fire for signing a controversial petition regarding the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

... Jones, who denied agreeing with the petition and issued an apology last week, said he was a victim of health-care reform opponents.

"On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me," Jones said in the statement. "They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide."

"But I came here to fight for others, not for myself. I cannot in good conscience ask my colleagues to expend precious time and energy defending or explaining my past. We need all hands on deck, fighting for the future," Jones said.

The Jones controversy centers on a 2004 petition he signed on a Web site that said: "A call for immediate inquiry into evidence that suggests high-level government officials may have deliberately allowed the September 11 attacks to occur."

Christian Theofascists and Anti-Abortionist Randall Terry- He's Back

Randall Terry anti-abortion/Pro-Life/Leader in action-HE's BACK
Howard Dean Called 'Baby Killer' At Health Care Town Hall Aug. 25,2009

"Our goal is a Christian nation. ... We have a biblical duty, we are called by God to conquer this country. We don't want equal time. We don't want pluralism. ... Theocracy means God rules. I've got a hot flash. God rules."

"At the core of Obama's health care policy is the murder of babies and the murder of the elderly...If this bill passes and they expect us to pay ... there will be horrific consequences to pay."

Quotes from Randall Terry Religious Right leader

Dan Savage:
"When you have a party that claims to speak for God, claims that God is on it's side, the rhetoric heats up and the anger heats up. It's not just a battle of ideas and positions and what's good for America and bad for the country. It's a battle of what God wants and what God doesn't want and you're, and it's easier to demogoge about your enemies and despise and to dehumanize in this really personal and vicious way, and the religious right is fomenting this kind of hatred in this country, and at our peril. I really do think that the Michele Bachmann's of the world and the Glenn Beck's of the world are actively, consciously or subconsciously trying to get, I'm just going to say it, they are trying to get the President killed. That's why they're setting this up as kill or be killed arguments. He's gonna kill you grandma, pull the plug on grandma, death panels children have to go in front of. This kind of rhetoric, this paranoid style on the religious right, from the Birchers to the Birthers doesn't usually end well, and we, somebody's gotta put the brakes on it, and unfortunately, in the Republican party, there are no adults left in the room, there are only the Michele Bachmann's and the Glenn Beck's and the Rush Limbaugh's running the show."

Keith Olberman, Dan Savage -- Christian Theofascists and traitors
RevKentHovind September 02, 2009

An excellent summation of Christian Republican theofascism and treason against America in the rise of the right wing domestic terrorist Third Reich once again.

The Religious Right 's goal is not just to put an end to late term abortions but all abortion but this is only one issue in which they are involved. In each issue they often claim they only want their side to be heard and acknowledged such as Evolution versus Creation Science or Intelligence Design or silent prayer in the public schools or that they are against sex education of children prior to junior high but in the end once the stated goal is achieved they press for further compromises eventually chipping away at one institution after another til they have achieved their ultimate goal. As Dan Savage points out the members of the Religious Right views all issues in terms of good versus evil so there is no room for compromise. To Evangelical Fundamentalists or other conservative Christians each battle is seen in apocalyptic terms because they are on God's side and those who oppose or disagree with their views and their agenda are on the side of Satan and the Anti-Christ.And so for them the Endgame they are working towards is to create a Theocracy where America is ruled by strict Biblical based Laws.

The problem the Right has is that Obama is trying to pass legislation to reform the health care system which they characterize as some sort of overarching socialist plot to turn America into a collectivist communist state ruled over by an authoritarian regime.

But the Bush regime as we recall was not interested in listening to critics of their policies or to make compromises with them. Didn't Bush ignore public opinion polls and said it doesn't matter what the American people think because he talked to God and in the end he President Bush was the decider. So Bush and his cronies ignored the Generals, the Pentagon , the intelligence community because he knew in his gut or his heart what God meant for him to do so he tortured and abused prisoners and based upon concocted phony intelligence combined with a massive well-orchestrated propaganda campaign he invaded Iraq and committed other various crimes all with the peoples and the Medias approval. And by the way wasn't it the Saintly George W. Bush who said The Constitution is just a piece of paper.

But none of this matters to the conservatives and their fellow travelers at Fox News and CNN because Bush was their man in the white House surrounded by "real Americans" driven by an ideology Neoconservatism which they said would help America's economy to grow in leaps and bounds and that through their policies true democracy would spread throughout the Middle East ushering in aGolden Era of propriety and peace.

Now the Republicans are out of power which they have still not come to grips with. Being out of power instead of reaching across the aisle and working seriously and honestly with the Obama administration they became the Party of No but now they have become the party of obstructionism doing whatever they can to bring the government to a standstill and to foment anger and fear of the Obama administration to encourage civil-disobedience, civil unrest, an insurrection . The Republicans and the Religious Right and the conservative movement are actively promulgating various "Conspiracy Theories" about Obama and his administration to stir things up even more in their desire to topple President Obama. There is little reason to believe that these propagandists believe in any of these conspiracy theories ie Birthers Fema Concentration Camps,New World Order, health care being used to kill off old people , the infirm the mentally challenged etc.but they will use anything that comes down the pike to use to rile up average Americans and the various dangerous groups which have been brought into their movement ie militias, patriots, nativists etc.

Many of their spokespersons or leaders are just angry as hell and they don't care if violence erupts for they will blame that violence on President Obama and his evil communist style policies . In one sense the fear is for those of us who have watched the Religious Right Movement and the Far Right groups over the last three decades or so is that this may be the moment they have been gearing themselves up if they found themselves in a situation in which they had lost their political power and their influence on the majority of the American people.

It was the right-winger Tea Party supporters made up of Birthers or those who believe Obama is a socialist, a communist or a fascist and that Obama is not a "real American" and is anti-American and UnAmerican who turned the Town Halls meettings into farce. They did everything they could to push their agenda by not allowing the policians to have reasonable discussion about health care reform. Instead the halls were filled with Republicans and Health insurance industry agitators who just shouted they didn't want socialism and if someone asked a real question they booed them.

We can speculate that as these Town Hall meetings continued and were seen on TV and Youtube and were discussed in detail on dozens of right-wing blogs and websites that this led to more confusion over the whole issue and so average people with possibly genuine concerns who got riled up started to go to these meetings to express their concerns which in large part could be traced to the misinformation, exaggerations, conspiracy theories and such being promulgated by the Republicans , the health insurance industry and various anti-Obama groups. But this as we know is how propaganda campaigns work the propagandists or public relations personnel and the lobbyists push their message and even if the message has little relation to the truth it can soothe peoples anxiety over an issue or increase their anxiety depending on what the propagandists or advertisers or other message handlers for a particular group or political party or company or industry want.

Part of the problem now is having unleashed this anger and suspicion and hatred and paranoia about the Obama administration will this lead to "unintended Consequences" which the conservatives didn't expect or do they even care . As Limbaugh said shortly after Obama became president is that he did not want Obama's government to succeed but rather to fail. Limbaugh revealed how angry and pissed off he was that Obama had become president with his revealing homophobic prison-like imagery in which he said that just because Obama is black we the American people are being told to bend over and grab our ankles- that is allowing Obama to figuratively rape/ sodomize the American people. This is no mere disagreement about policies but something deeper and more insidious . Limbaugh, Beck, Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs & Fox News and a large segment of the American people feel this kind of betrayal with the election of Barack Obama and they are still eleven months after the election seething with anger and hatred and anxiety that America is being radically changed.

And so now let's look at one of these radical Religious Right campaigners Randall Terry who used to lead the Pro-Life /anti-abortion organization "Operation Rescue" who has re-emerged on the scene with his group OverturnRoe.com-Randall Terry and his organization Operation Rescue Insurrecta Nex.

Randall Terry Takes His Show On The Road
Submitted by Kyle Right Wing Watch August 24, 2009

Last week we mentioned that Randall Terry and his band of merry pranksters were heading out on the road for series of "kill granny/kill babies" healthcare reform protests. Well, they are now underway:

Terry, 50, and his staffers readied their props: plastic toddler dolls, a trick knife, a Halloween syringe, a bottle of fake blood.

"We're going to be executing babies," he joked as the trio, trailed by another staffer with a camcorder, stepped out onto Salem Avenue in Roanoke toward Sen. Mark Warner's downtown office.

"Terry Recruits A New Army of Anti-Choice Warriors" by Kyle at right Wing watch on June 15, 2009 -

The Randall Terry press conference we covered last week was actually the lead-in to an anti-abortion leadership training seminar that he conducted over the weekend featuring Alan Keyes and Norma McCorvey for some fifty people from around the country at which Terry announced the formation of a new organization to be known as Operation Rescue Insurrecta Nex, as the Washington Times reports:

Randall Terry, one of the best-known abortion opponents in the U.S., launched a new version of Operation Rescue this weekend, calling on activists from across the country to press on despite bad publicity over the May 31 slaying of abortion doctor George Tiller.

Forty-five people from 16 cities met at the Crystal City Doubletree hotel Saturday for a hastily arranged "emergency pro-life training conference" to recruit more foot soldiers in the battle against abortion.

"The freeing moment will come when you decide to take a bullet for this movement," Mr. Terry said in a small ballroom watched over by one security guard. "Then you can't be bullied and intimidated into silence anymore."

Mr. Terry has renamed his movement Operation Rescue Insurrecta Nex - the latter two words meaning 'insurrection against death' in Latin - and is trolling for new affiliates.

"My mission is to raise up a new generation," he said, "to recruit them, train them and unleash them."

He brushes off criticism that activists like him created a climate that goaded the suspect in Dr. Tiller's slaying into action.

"You can't work with me if you can't say abortion is murder and child-killers are murderers," he said. "You've got to be prepared to take the heat over those words. The true terrorists are those who reach into a woman's womb and kill her child."

His opponents "refuse to admit that abortion is the cauldron from which evil flows," he added. "George Tiller reaped what he sowed. He was a murderer."

"The backstory on Randall Terry's new organization" Jill Stanek.com June 15,2009

Randall Terry emerged as a charismatic pro-life leader in the 80s, helping advance the "rescue" protest mentality.

The Washington Times reported yesterday on a "hastily arranged 'emergency pro-life training conference'" held in DC Saturday of "45 people from 16 cities... all white, nearly all over 40 and mostly Roman Catholic." Speakers included Norma McCorvey and Alan Keyes.

At this meeting Terry announced the formation of a new group, Operation Rescue Insurrecta Nex, "the latter 2 words meaning 'insurrection against death' in Latin - and is trolling for new affiliates," according to WT.

Randall Terry is no longer with Operation Rescue which it appears is now called Operation Rescue/Operation Save America but this could change since there is some sort internal fighting over the name between Randall Terry and the current leader of the organization.

Anyway here are a few choice bits from their website:
Operation Rescue/Operation Save America

Operation Rescue/Operation Save America unashamedly takes up the cause of preborn children in the name of Jesus Christ. We employ only biblical principles. The Bible is our foundation; the Cross of Christ is our strategy; the repentance of the Church of Jesus Christ is our ultimate goal. As the Church changes its heart toward unborn children, God Himself will hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and bring healing to our land.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only answer to the abortion holocaust. It is upon our active repentance in the streets of our cities that the Gospel is visibly lived out. We become to the church, to our city, and to our nation living parables which rightly represent God's heart toward His helpless children.

There are no cheap political solutions to the holocaust presently ravaging our nation. Like slavery before it, abortion is preeminently a Gospel issue. The Cross of Christ is the only solution.

Chet Gallagher Responds to Lutheran Church Ordaining Practicing Homosexuals Chet Gallagher with foreword by Rev Flip Benham • 8/27/2009

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) voted last week to accept non-celibate clergy members and lay leaders who are in “life long” and “monogamous” same-sex relationships. This is an abomination. Just listen to the pleasant words used to describe the sin of homosexual sodomy. This is a 4.6 million member Church. It is the third largest protestant denomination in America making up 2% of our population. It is in absolute apostasy to the Word of God. Interestingly, as this convention was convened in Minneapolis/Saint Paul, a completely unexpected weather anomaly struck the city. A tornado was unleashed causing minimal damage to the city but broke in half the steeple of the Evangelical Church. “Can you hear me now?”

After Vegas – More Miracles in New Orleans
Dale Sochia with foreword by Rev Flip Benham • 8/10/2009
The saints of New Orleans have been storming the gates of hell (Local abortion mills) for years. Thousands of babies have been saved, and many folks have given their hearts to Christ as the Church of Jesus Christ allows its theology to become biography in the streets. Led by Pastor Bill Shanks, the number of abortion mills in New Orleans has shrunk from eight in 1994 to two at present. One of the two remaining abortion mills bought an old church building, renovated it, and made it into a place to kill babies. Brother Bill, Pastor Dale Sochia, and all of the saints in New Orleans send us this report of God’s working in New Orleans. Enjoy!
