So the body count for Iraqis is lets see 500, 000 dead during the rather strict & inhumane ten years of sanctions then America invades & another 650,000 Iraqi are killed the majority of the dead are unarmed civilians & then there is another approximately 2,000,000 who are now refugees & yet Bush still claims in the midst of Chaos in Iraq that America is winning the war what chutzpah . Bush claims people do not appreciate what he is doing to save our wonderfully superiour civilization against the Barbarian hordes at our gates but he believes “history” will prove him & his gang of thugs to have been right all along .Of course we are told that we must forget the rationale which Bush & Co. Gave for the invasion: WMDs & the illusive & unfounded belief that Saddam was connected with Al Qeda & 9/11 & that he was about to drop his non-existent Nukes & chemical weapons on American soil. And besides Saddam was a ruthless dictator who imprisoned people without due process tortured prisoners & kept them in jail for as long as he wished & he cracked down on his critics & the Media in Iraq . We can all agree Saddam was ruthless but the Bush regimes leaves out America’s complicity in aiding Saddam when he was America’s greatest friend in the Middle East.

The irony & hypocrisy, in case anyone missed it, is that Saddam was tried & found guilty of Crimes against humanity by a sham court controlled by the Bush administration which also can & does imprison so called “ Enemies of the State “ without due process or other “ quaint “ antiquated & old-fashioned ideas such as “ habeas corpus “ & actually telling detainees what they are being charged with & what evidence their accusers have collected against them besides innuendo & rumour & the desperate inadmissable statements made by those who have been tortured is & the right to an attorney & the right not to be tortured or treated like an animal or subhuman . Ah well we live in dangerous times so now torture & all those methods used formerly by Totalitarian Regimes are quite acceptable. And if anyone speaks out against these things then they too are guilty of giving aid & comfort to the “Terrorists”. So no wonder the mainstream Media is mostly silent since they fear they could be imprisoned or at least their subscriptions or advertising revenues & tv ratings might suffer.

So “ truth “ is merely relative & each Iraqi child killed by the American forces is just one less terrorist to worry about. It reminds us of the good old days when American were slaughtering the South Vietnamese people in order to save them or when Americans thought mass murdering Native Americans almost to the point of extinction which was really just another form of “Ethnic Cleansing” or even Genocide. We are not really supposed to say or even think such things since Americans & Canadians believed that the “Red Skins” as it were /were not of European descent & were not even Christians so they deserved to be wiped out , at least according to most white Europeans .

In the same way White Europeans who landed in North America thought enslaving millions of Black Africans was ok since the Africans in their view were subhuman & didn’t have a proper language or a proper religion & beside the Bible explicitly says that slavery is ok .

When slavery was made illegal then the South set up its laws of segregation which were of course legal though unethical but when did ethics ever bother racists . Then came the creation of that wonderful all-American institution of the KKK as celebrated in G.W. Griffiths “ Birth of a Nation ” which originally was entitled “THE KLANSMEN” who were supposedly the protectors & saviours of The White Christian Race later to be followed in Germany by the SS Stormtroopers of Adolph Hitler. ( and the SHOAH ( holocaust) which was really the culmination of 2,000 years of Rabid Christian Anti-Semitism the Catholic Church & most Europeans did little or nothing to stop it from happening to their eternal shame though most people rather than feel guilt make excuses or as Bush would say play the blame game)

Like Saddam the Bush regime also uses kidnaping & assassinations & death squads but that’s ok since God is in daily contact with King George & America has been- we are told again & again- blessed by God from its creation which is all part of God’s Master Plan to destroy all heretics & non-Christians who refuse to repent & become Born Again in Jesus’ “ Holy Rivers of Blood ” & the blood will flow until the Messiah comes or until there is no one left alive on America’s New Prison Planet (to borrow a phrase) .

And now the Clash of Civilizations may soon take place if it hasn’t already begun because of the actions of the Americans & her allies such as Britain & Canada which are precipitating such a clash. But the Neocons are not distressed since it is possible that chaos in the Middle East is just what they want if not then they have failed terribly & tragically to bring democracy or peace to the Middle East. But who knows what their real goals are one would need to be able to explore the inner workings of Karl Rove the Master Puppeteer behind all of this according to numerous sources or is the Radical Religious Right (who now make up fifty to a hundred million Americans) the real force behind Bush ; if so then according to their ENDTIMES -Rapture-Tribulations cum Armageddon & the return of the Messiah type logic ala “ The Return of the King in Lord of The Rings or The Matrix when NEO saves humankind or whatever comparisons you wish or some other sequel type logic such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning in which the killers believe they are serving some higher purpose -

I do digress according the Born Again Dispensationalists if there is peace in the Middle East then the Anti-Christ has arrived & if America agrees to any such Middles East Peace agreement between Israel & the rest of the Middle East then America has joined up with the Anti-Christ who in part is represented by the United Nations & after that things get complicated .
For instance The Ultra orthodox Jews in Israel need a red Heifer for some sort of sacrifice so they can build th The Third Temple & take control of all of the Biblical Israel & kick out or wipe out a few million Arabs & Palestinians so that the Messiah can come but there you go.

To understand these issues of EndTimes better watch if you can stomach it the three “ LEFT BEHIND ”movies based upon these prophecies. It is like looking into the mind of Mad King George Bush & how he sees himself & the world & history -VERY SCARY !!!

We need to remember though that such improbable nonsense as suggested in these films & the various Left Behind novels do not represent mainstream Christianity throughout its 2,000 year history & such notions are not part of the beliefs & theology & eschatology of the majority of Jews . These believes which are held mainly by American & Canadian Born-Again Evangelical Fundamentalist- Dispensational -Christians only date back to about 1840 & John Darby etc.
There are lots of sites on the internet arguing both sides of the question but I believe there is little in the Bible or Christian theology to support this rather twisted version of the Book of Revelations & if anything may do more harm than good to the Christian Religion .

Anyway Bush has now made torture of detainees legal & Americans & Canadians don't see this as a real problem or an issue to be discussed or debated . So everybody is just fine with hanging people by their thumbs , beating them as close to death as possible or just " water-boarding " them or just a little harmless sodomy which seems odd for people who are so homophobic but there you go. So it seems the Bush administration is planning to build more prisons at home & abroad for all the detainees they expect to be arresting in the future & possibly all American Arabs & Muslims if they can swing it . And a few Americans might protest but most have already been conditione by years of relentless Propaganda to view all Arabs & Muslims as the enemy & as the representatives of Satan or the Anti-Christ . Or the supporters of Bush see Arabs & Muslims as a little less than human & this helps ease their consciences . Its like having the KKK in power except the enemy are not Jews & blacks but Arabs - can you tell the difference I can't . I thought human rigts were to apply to everyone & not just those who are most like ourselves or whatever group we happen to identify ourselves with .

Like any society that feels threatened we need our scapegoats or other upon which we can pour out our bile or venom or anger onto.

What is surprising about the Bush administration is how blatant they are about what they are doining are are going to keep doing . And Bush has also made it against the law for a detainee to speak about the details of their interrogation or where they are or what they have seen to their lawyer- if they ever see one - or to their families or friends or the Media or the Red Cross or any Human Rights Watch groups for they might reveal details which might not be in the interest of National Security . So BIG BROTHER HAS ARRIVED.

Bush has also passed legislation so that he & his lackeys can just decide who is a danger to America & send out their secret police to pick up just about anyone they suspect or whom they do not like . They can disappear anyone they wish to in the same way they helped or approved of " disappearing " torturing & assassinating people who were using arms or who just criticisized the regimes in El Salvador or Gautemala or Chile or Argentina or even in Franco's Spain or Iran under the ironfist of the Shaw or the ultra right wing government of Israel And the public responds with deafening silence since most people seem to believe anyone who is arrested must be guilty of something .
So everyone is suspect now. If someone criticizes what the Bush Regime is doing they could be seen as giving aid & comfort to the enemy . This pleases their spokes people like Glenn Beck Ann Coulter & Rush Limbaugh & The Washington Post & The New York Times as we watch the slow death of the Free-Press in America .

Under Stephen Harper & gang things are not much better in Canada as our media have been co-opted to a greater or lesser extent by the Neo-Cons & the Radical Religious Right & combined with the average Canadians deep-seated racism which is now rising to the top & the racists can now openly say what many Canadians have always believed .

My belief is that for a brief peiod of time our society appeared to becoming a more just societ & one that was less racist & bigot but maybe because people wanted to appear less racist because to voice their real opion this would not be " politically correct " and so our so called enlightened society has returned to its primal roots of fear & hatred of the " other" in the same way it had been considered reasonable to be Anti-Semitic til the Holocaust finally awoke our better instincts .

“ At first impression, the religious scene in this Bible Belt terrain is upbeat, vigorous, prospering in numbers, properties, and outspoken leadership. There is an agenda both spiritual and political as well as the people and money to make it happen. But, when you pay close attention to the message being driven home by every possible technical medium and skill, you meet some deeply disturbing, even frightening realities.

The theme of the day was Left Behind: A Conference on Biblical Prophecy about End Times, and it featured three of the leading voices in the U.S religious right today: Tim LaHaye, Gary Frazier, and Ed Hindson.

And as he continues-

“ I have never heard so much venom and dangerous ignorance spouted before an utterly unquestioning, otherwise normal-looking crowd in my life.... There were stunning statements about humans having been only 6,000 years on Earth and other denials of contemporary geology and biology. And we learned that the Rapture, which could happen any second now, but certainly within the next 40 years, will instantly sweep all the "saved" Americans (perhaps one-half the population) to heaven....

But these fantasies were harmless compared with the hatred against Islam that followed. Here are some direct quotes: "Islam is an intolerant religion-and it's clear whose side we should be on in the Middle East." Applause greeted these words: "Allah and Jehovah are not the same God.... According to these three, and the millions of Americans they lead, Muslims intend ultimately "to impose their religion on us all."

Recently the US Secretary of State, Condi Rice stated -

"The Lord is going to come on time - if we just wait"

... the US Secretary of State has publically acknowledged the US governments allegiance to a higher power, which is supposed to be the accepted excuse for government ineptitude and incompetence.

The neocon junta in the White House wholeheartedly subscribes to the literal viewpoint that Jesus is indeed coming - and very soon, which is the tendered reason (and widely supported) for their attrocious behavior and gross mediocrity. In other words, worry not about governmental malfeasence, lying, torture, murder, environmental destruction, the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people, or even government sponsored terrorism, the Lord of Lords and King of Kings is soon to come. Jesus will fix everything. The great tragedy of this belief system is that it is nothing more then a modern myth, steeped in fiery indigination and gross interpretation and a deliberate and malicious ignorance of facts and history.

Subscribing to this belief is the architects of the Project for a New American Century (PNAC) which includes Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Pearle, and Governor Jeb Bush, among others. And of course, the Commander in Chief, George Bush and the US Secretary of State, Condoleeza Rice.

Anyway Condoleeza Rice is in Canada to shore up support for America's planned invasion of Iran based upon more dubious Intelligence or ,at least Intel as good as that used prior to invasion of Iraq . Canada is now complicit in America's Crimes Against Humanity i.e. unprovoked invasion , mass murder of over 100, 000 Iraqis, imprisoning tens of thousands around the globe , torture of thousands & atrocities committed by American soldiers as they let off a little steam. I have not heard a word from Prime Minister Harper chastising The Bush Regime for these war crimes . But then again Harper is a Neocon who just wants to be on what he considers to be the winning side.

God save us from the self-righteous militant Fundamentalist Evangelical Christians who think they are acting according to the will of God . Is this not the same claim that the Islamic terrorists use to kill innocent civilians ???

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice thanked Canadians for providing a port in the storm for thousands of stranded Americans and other passengers on Sept. 11, 2001.

"It's a day, of course, to know and remember that there is indeed evil in the world, and we saw its awful face on that horrible day," Rice said at a brief ceremony at Halifax International Airport.

"But it's also a day to recognize that very often when the worst in human behaviour and human nature exhibits itself, so does the best in human nature and human behaviour -- and that is what we saw here."

MS. Rice to some of us does not sound very sincere, in fact, it sounds a lot like BS big-time as she has defended the on-going lies & propaganda & the abuse of political power to further the Neo-Conservative & Radical Christian Rights agendas. She will & has defended the administration no matter how outrageous its actions has been. She sees nothing wrong with Kidnapping aka " Renditions " taking prisoners to secret locations around the globe or sending them to countries where Condi & her handlers know these prisoners will be tortured or just murdered & she & the Bush regime have implemented what is known as the El Salvador stategy to countries like Iraq where American backed death squads roam the streets & do as they please .

No matter what American soldiers do in Iraq or elsewhere no matter what crimes they commit from treating all Iraqi citizens as terrorists to disappearing people they do not like to raping some fourteen year old girl & murdering her family is just a few American GIs stressed out & letting off a bit of steam like a bunch of college frat boys. What is the Bush regimes response to such actions such Crimes against humanity ; their view is that the media shouldn't be allowed to report such things as it may hurt the moral of the American war -machine. And the punishment for such crimes is either aquital or a few months in jail & a few thousand dollars in fines ; so who is it that does not respect human life or sees life as cheap ?

Besides anyone imprisoned or shot at by American forces must be guilty of something even two or three olds might be evil terrorists & are therefore enemies or potential enemies of America , Christianity & the West. Talk about your conspiraciy theories the Bush Regime can out-do any crack-pot around as they see terrorists & supporters of terrorists everywhere.

In the end Condoleeza Rice & other members of the Bush administration have as much blood on their hands as the torturers who work for them or the soldiers in Iraq who kill anything that moves who go from house to house killing innocent people to avenge the death of one of their own . And those at the top are guilty of War Crimes who order the obliteration of towns & cities like Fallujah using out-lawed incinderary chemical bombs " cluster bombs "on a civilian population , refusing to allow the Red Cross to give aid to civilians where needed & to deliberately attack hospitals & medical personnel & ambulances ; to prevent the timely delivery of food & water & other necessities to those in need and the list goes on & on...

Anyway here it is the anniversary of 9/11 : The Great American Tragedy which the Bush Regime has used to push forward its own agenda of The New World Order & which the Christian Religious Right has co-opted claiming to be a sign of The Last Days as prophesized in The Book Of Revelations of The Bible as they interpret it.

President Bush made a speech last week again attacking any who dare to criticize the policies of his Regime & calls such critics unAmerican & Pro-Terrorists .

The remarks by Keith Olberman are even more telling after the release of the latest report of The Senate Panel on Iraq Intelligence prior to Iraq war on Friday Septemper 8 , which concludes that there was no connection between Al Qaeda & Saddam Hussein .
To some this is a revelation yet those in the know knew this within days after 9/11.

Here is the text of the comments made by Olberman in response to President Bush's speech.

It is to our deep national shame—and ultimately it will be to the President’s deep personal regret—that he has followed his Secretary of Defense down the path of trying to tie those loyal Americans who disagree with his policies—or even question their effectiveness or execution—to the Nazis of the past, and the al Qaeda of the present.

Today, in the same subtle terms in which Mr. Bush and his colleagues muddied the clear line separating Iraq and 9/11 — without ever actually saying so—the President quoted a purported Osama Bin Laden letter that spoke of launching, "a media campaign to create a wedge between the American people and their government."

Make no mistake here—the intent of that is to get us to confuse the psychotic scheming of an international terrorist, with that familiar bogeyman of the right, the "media."

The President and the Vice President and others have often attacked freedom of speech, and freedom of dissent, and freedom of the press.
Now, Mr. Bush has signaled that his unparalleled and unprincipled attack on reporting has a new and venomous side angle:
The attempt to link, by the simple expediency of one word—"media"—the honest, patriotic, and indeed vital questions and questioning from American reporters, with the evil of Al-Qaeda propaganda.

That linkage is more than just indefensible. It is un-American.

Mr. Bush and his colleagues have led us before to such waters.

We will not drink again.

And the President’s re-writing and sanitizing of history, so it fits the expediencies of domestic politics, is just as false, and just as scurrilous.
"In the 1920’s a failed Austrian painter published a book in which he explained his intention to build an Aryan super-state in Germany and take revenge on Europe and eradicate the Jews," President Bush said today, "the world ignored Hitler’s words, and paid a terrible price."
Whatever the true nature of al Qaeda and other international terrorist threats, to ceaselessly compare them to the Nazi State of Germany serves only to embolden them.

More over, Mr. Bush, you are accomplishing in part what Osama Bin Laden and others seek—a fearful American populace, easily manipulated, and willing to throw away any measure of restraint, any loyalty to our own ideals and freedoms, for the comforting illusion of safety.
It thus becomes necessary to remind the President that his administration’s recent Nazi "kick" is an awful and cynical thing.
And it becomes necessary to reach back into our history, for yet another quote, from yet another time and to ask it of Mr. Bush:

"Have you no sense of decency, sir?"

Unfortunately many Americans about 43% against all evidence to the contrary still believe Saddam Hussein was behind the terrorists attack on 9/11. It appears the propaganda war of the Bush Regime & their friends in the media like Glenn Beck , Ann Coulter & Rush Limbaugh have blinded people to the truth.

WASHINGTON, Sept. 8 — The Central Intelligence Agency last fall repudiated the idea that there were pre-war ties between Saddam Hussein’s government and the Jordanian terrorist Abu Musab Al Zarqawi, according to a report issued on Friday by the Senate intelligence committee.

The disclosure undercuts continuing claims by the Bush administration that such ties existed, and that they provided evidence of links between Iraq and Al Qaeda. The Republican-controlled committee also sharply criticized the administration for its reliance on the Iraqi National Congress during the run-up to the war in Iraq.

The findings, in two new reports, are part of an ongoing inquiry by the Senate committee into pre-war intelligence about Iraq. The conclusions went beyond the committee’s earlier findings, issued in the summer of 2004, by including criticism not just of American intelligence agencies but also the administration.

The reports did not address the politically divisive question of whether Bush administration had exaggerated or misused intelligence in its effort to win support for the invasion of Iraq. But they did serve to undercut the administration’s assertions, made before the war and since, that ties between Mr. Zarqawi and Mr. Hussein’s government provided evidence of a close relationship between Iraq and Al Qaeda.

As recently as two weeks ago, President Bush said at a news conference that Mr. Hussein “had relations with Zarqawi.’’ But a C.I.A. report completed in October 2005 t concluded instead that Sadddam Hussein’s regime “did not have a relationship, harbor, or even turn a blind eye toward Mr. Zarqawi and his associates,” according to the new Senate findings.

The C.I.A. report also directly contradicted claims made in February 2003 by Secretary of State Colin L. Powell, who mentioned Mr. Zarqawi by name no fewer than 20 times during a speech to the United Nations Security Council that made the administration’s case to go to war. In that speech, Mr. Powell said that Iraq “today harbors a deadly terrorist network’’ headed by Mr. Zarqawi, and dismissed as “not credible’’ assertions by the Iraqi government that it had no knowledge of Mr. Zarqawi’s whereabouts.

In fact, the Senate investigation concluded that Mr. Hussein regarded Al Qaeda as a threat rather as a potential ally, and that the Iraqi intelligence service “actively attempted to locate and capture al-Zarqawi without success.’’

Lady Liberty Trades In Some Trappings

MEMPHIS, July 4 — On Independence Day, Lady Liberty was born again.
At a megachurch in Memphis, the Statue of Liberation Through Christ was consecrated Tuesday. The statue, says the church's pastor, is a way of "letting people know that God is the foundation of our nation."

As the congregation of the World Overcomers Outreach Ministries Church looked on and its pastor, Apostle Alton R. Williams, presided, a brown shroud much like a burqa was pulled away to reveal a giant statue of the Lady, but with the Ten Commandments under one arm and "Jehovah" inscribed on her crown.
The Statue of Liberation Through Christ, as she is called, stands 72 feet tall from the base of her pedestal to the tip of her cross. She was the idea of Mr. Williams, a very successful pastor whose church, World Overcomers, qualifies as mega: it has a school, a bowling alley, a roller rink, a bookstore and, he said, 12,000 members.
The pastor is not shy. His church has bought full-page advertisements in The Commercial Appeal, the Memphis daily, condemning homosexuality.
