US Bombing Civilians & Supports Al Qaeda Rebels In Libya

The Madness of Perpetual War
Perpetual War fought to provide the Military Industrial Complex a purpose and profits and more profits
For some unknown reason President Obama has so far been willing to take advice from those who have an interests in keeping the war drums beating from the politicians bought by the Arms manufacturers to the Lobbyist who are mercenaries armed with truck loads of cash to the Rober Barons in it for the profits to those who still want revenge for 9/11 and for the deaths of US troops in Afghanistan and Iraq and those Uberpatriots who just want America to assert its power over the rest of the nations and then are those who believe this needs to be done in God's name or Jesus'name to fulfill some ridiculous fairy tale Armageddon and the return of the Messiah and so on.

The US government and the White House may be backing the wrong group in Libya . Many of the rebels were or are members of Al Qaeda and were on the side of the Taliban in Afghanistan.
So once again in the name of expediency and America's own interests the US is willing to back another bunch of terrorists and fanatics as it did in Afghanistan in order to thwart the Soviets or as America did in backing Saddam during the long war with Iran.

Note in the case of Iran it was Iraq which initiated a war of aggression.
It was Iraq which used WMDs including the use of Gas against Iran's military and against its civilian population. Iran was not a threat to the US at that time.
In fact it was Iran which had been victimized by the US backing of the brutal dictatorial Shah.
The Shah of Iran was ousted by the majority of the Iranian population.
The main reason the Shah had retained power in Iran was because he was used by America and the CIA in 1953 in a coup d'etat ousting the charismatic pro-democracy and popular Prime Minister Muhammad Mossadeq who made the mistake of promoting and defending Iran's sovereignty .
Mossadeq made the further error in believing America was also pro-democracy and not as predatory as other nations such as Britain, France or the Soviets.

But as we have seen America puts its interests before that of the needs and aspirations of the peoples of other nations.

The U.S. has been out to get Qaddafi since 1968 and has never changed its policy towards Qaddaffi. One of the characteristics of America in general is that it tends to hold onto outdated grudges as in the case of Libya, Cuba, Iraq or Iran.

US recognizes Libyan opposition as legitimate government of Libya Washington Post By Associated Press, July 15, 2011

ISTANBUL — U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says the Obama administration has decided to formally recognize Libya’s main opposition group as the country’s legitimate government. The move gives foes of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi a major financial and credibility boost.

Clinton announced Friday that Washington accepts the Transitional National Council as the legitimate governing authority of the Libyan people. Diplomatic recognition of the council means that the U.S. will be able to fund the opposition with some of the more than $30 billion in Gahdafi-regime assets that are frozen in American banks

"US Recognizes Al-Qaeda War Criminals As Libya's Official Government
Unbelievable, though not unexpected, departure from reality."
by Tony Cartalucci at Landdestroyer Report Blog ,July 15, 2011

Bangkok, Thailand July 15, 2011 - Associated Press reports that, "U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says the Obama administration has decided to formally recognize Libya’s main opposition group as the country’s legitimate government. The move gives foes of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi a major financial and credibility boost."

In an act of utter desperation as the brutal, though entirely ineffective Libyan rebels flounder in their NATO-backed offensives against Libya's ruling government in Tripoli, the US has now recognized the Libyan rebels as the country's "legitimate government" allowing the US to directly fund, arm, and support with US troops, the Al-Qaeda tied war criminals operating out of Benghazi. The recent farcical move indicates that France's Foreign Minister Alain Juppé has failed in his threats and posturing to get Libya's Qaddafi to stand down, and that the NATO-backed war of aggression is about to reach new heights of brutality most likely including the involvement of US, UK, and French troops on the ground.

Libyan Rebels are Al-Qaeda - On Record

Operating out of the Libyan cities of Benghazi, Darna, and Tobruk, Libyan rebels themselves have admitted that many of their members are drawn from Al Qaeda. The London Telegraph has reported that Libyan rebel leader Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi had admitted many of his fighters had just returned from fighting US forces in Iraq. The Telegraph also reported that Hasidi himself had "earlier fought against "the foreign invasion" in Afghanistan, before being captured in 2002 in Peshwar, in Pakistan. He was later handed over to the US, and then held in Libya before being released in 2008." A United States Army West Point report confirms indeed that fighters drawn from the Libyan cities of Benghazi, Darna, and Tobruk were second only to Saudi Arabia in contributing forces to fight US troops in Iraq.

...The Libyan Rebels are Documented War Criminals

In an April 2011 New York Times article titled, "Inferior Arms Hobble Rebels in Libya War," a weepy narrative is told of under-armed, outclassed rebels who have been compelled by their circumstances to commit horrific atrocities and war crimes. The New York Times describes a "tolerance for at least a small number of child soldiers," and blamed a lack of command-and-control for "instances of abusive or outright brutal conduct" rather than a lack of ethical principles or their foreign-funded, illegitimate cause.

The New York Times article describes the rebels' use of Grad rockets often described as indiscriminate war weapons and whose use by Qaddafi's forces have been cited as a contributing factor for NATO's intervention. The article also makes mention of the rebels' use of landmines - also a contributing factor cited by the warmongering criminals of NATO for their intervention in North Africa.

More recently, the Soros-funded Human Rights Watch released a report indicating that civilians were being abused (including having their feet shot off by victorious rebels) and their property looted and destroyed by Libya's rebels upon taking over towns from "suspected Qaddafi supporters." While the report, and a torrent of corporate-owned media outlets attempt to play-down and spin the allegations confirmed by defacto rebel "prime minister" Mahmoud Jibril, they represent evidence indicating that Libya's violence is not divided along political aspirations for "liberal democracy" and support for Qaddafi, but rather along predictable, long standing ethnic divisions. These confirmed reports of rebel war crimes also provide evidence that NATO's involvement in Libya is justified by selective enforcement of an already illegitimate UN Security Council resolution for the sole purpose of removing Qaddafi - clearly not protecting Libyan civilians.

...This has absolutely nothing to do with democracy, human rights, or even the rule of law, international or otherwise. The same warmongering degenerate Robert Kagan who brazenly admits the "international order" serves American, not international interests, recently signed a letter to US House Republicans imploring them to disregard both the American people's will as well as UN Security Council r.1973 in order to commit to full intervention in Libya on behalf of rebels admittedly members of Al-Qaeda who are committing a myriad of war crimes in support of this neo-imperial campaign. Kagan's willingness to disregard even the contrived legalities authorizing NATO's involvement in Libya in the first place illustrates the unchecked, arbitrary nature of this emerging "international order," an order that feels it needs answer to no one.

It is imperative that people understand the true nature not only behind this intervention in Libya, but the "international order's" involvement, meddling, and intervention throughout the world. Any thorough examination of the United States government, the unelected corporate-funded think tanks that produce its policy, the corporate-owned media outfits that promote their agendas, and the immense global network of foreign-funded NGOs, foundations, and organizations carrying the agenda out, reveals a self-serving oligarchy merely using attractive ideals to sell their otherwise unpalatable agenda. As the Romans and the British had foisted upon millions during the construction of their despotic world spanning empires, the United States and their global allies are now using the facade of "civil society," "human rights," "democracy," and "freedom" to construct a new oligarchical global empire.

"NATO will be Defeated in Libya "A Defining Moment for Africa" By Gerald A. Perreira Via Information Clearing House

July 15, 2011 "Libya 360" -- The argument in Libya has been won by the Al Fateh revolution. There is now a glaring truth confronting the North Atlantic Terrorist Organization (NATO) – Muammar Qaddafi has handed out over one million kalashnikovs to the Libyan people. If he was the brutal dictator that NATO would have us believe him to be, then the armed population could have turned their guns on him and the revolutionary armed forces by now, especially as they would have NATO’s full backing if they did so.

Instead, on July 1st, over a million Libyans, around one third of the Libyan population, were in Green Square and the surrounding streets, to hear Muammar Qaddafi speak and to rally against NATO.

Chinese media put the number at 1.7 million and Intifada – Voice of Palestine website called it ‘the largest demonstration ever in world history’. The crowd chanted over and over again ‘We want Qaddafi’ while unveiling a green flag 6 kilometers long.

The Al Fateh revolution has given the Libyan people a taste of the dignity that comes with true independence and real sovereignty.

Unlike so many ‘Third World’ nation-states, Libya, under the leadership of Muammar Qaddafi, has been a surrogate of neither the East nor the West. The first thing that hits you when you step off the plane at Tripoli International Airport is that Libyans are firmly in control of their country. Libya is a power unto herself and Libyans are not taking kindly to NATO’s attempts at re-colonization.

What has developed in Libya is a conundrum for NATO. They may have imagined that with such vicious ongoing bombing raids, Qaddafi’s forces would have crumbled.

Instead, they have witnessed the opposite. In the face of this all out aggression, over 10,000 bombing raids and into its fifth month, the Libyan patriotic and revolutionary armed forces and the vast majority of Libyans have remained steadfast and loyal, defending their revolution and its leader.

There are even pro-Qaddafi rallies in Benghazi, and constant gun battles between pro-Qaddafi forces and the rebels in Benghazi and Misurata. In villages and towns, reportedly under rebel control, the green flag of the Al Fateh revolution can be seen flying from homes and public buildings. One thing is clear, if Qaddafi did not have mass support he could not be resisting this barbaric onslaught so effectively.

Deja Vu - Iran another Iraq??? Lies and propaganda
Neocons back again to push for a war with Iran.
War With Iran? US Neocons Aim to Repeat Chalabi-Style Swindle By Ali Fatemi and Karim Pakravan via Truthout.org, July 16, 2011

-- In 1991, Iraqi exiles set up the Iraq National Congress (INC) with funding from the CIA. Under the leadership of Ahmad Chalabi, and flush with tens of millions dollars in US government funding, the INC allied itself with the neoconservatives in Washington and unceasingly beat the drums of war, presenting itself as the popular democratic alternative to Saddam Hussein and feeding faulty intelligence to an eager media and Bush administration. Eventually, they succeeded in dragging the United States into disastrous war that cost Americans and Iraqis their lives and caused incalculable damage to American prestige and power.

Now, history may be repeating itself.

A segment of our political establishment that is chafing at the bit for a military attack on Iran has found their INC, in the form of the Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization (also known as the MEK, or MKO), a radical Islamic terrorist group with Iranian roots that has been designated a terrorist organization since the State Department created the Foreign Terrorist Organization list in 1997.

Appearing before the House Foreign Affairs Committee on June 24, John Bolton, the former ambassador to the UN under President Bush, reiterated his calls for military action against Iran and openly expressed his support for the MEK. Weeks later, former Bush attorney general Michael Mukasey appeared before the Oversight and Investigation Subcommittee and called for the US to delist the MEK. Mukasey was even photographed prior to the hearing receiving counsel from the leadership of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, the MEK's political wing, which is also designated as a terrorist organization.

Bolton and Mukasey are not alone in their avowed public support for this known terrorist group. They have been joined by a number of former senior Bush administration officials, other hawks and advocates of the whatever-it-takes war on terror - luminaries such as Rudy Giuliani, former CIA director James Woolsey, and former head of Homeland Security Tom Ridge, as well as a number of Republican and Democratic legislators.

Why would some of the most vocal advocates for prosecuting the war on terror now take an Islamic terrorist group under its wing and persistently lobby the State Department and the US Congress to have the group removed from terrorist list? Simply put, they say the enemy of the enemy is our friend. Maryam Rajavi, the MEK leader and self-proclaimed president of Iran, is their new Chalabi.

and so it goes,
GORD.
