Barack Obama Raising the Spirits of Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr.

" Hope is not blind optimism or mere wishful thinking. "
Hope has been the guiding force behind the most improbable changes this country has ever made... That is the power of hope: to imagine and then work for what seemed impossible before." Barack Obama

Anyway Barack Obama won the Iowa Caucus . Many of us it appears have underestimated Obama. Maybe besides making great speeches he will show us that he is a man of integrity and substance.Maybe now his message will be able to be heard beyond the Hilary Clinton campaign Noise Machine . Now the dream team to me would be Obama as Presidential candidate with Edwards as his running mate for Vice President.

And maybe Democrats are finally waking up and realize that Hilary Clinton as President will just be more of the same old politics of the status quo. In which politicians are more concerned with the Corporate elites and religious fanatics and their fellow neocons than with the average American and holding to America's basic democratic institutions and principles.

Barack Obama Calls on Iowans to Stand for Change

Here's some quotes from his speech which was rather inspiring and showed Obama at his best.

" Hope is not blind optimism or mere wishful thinking. "
Hope has been the guiding force behind the most improbable changes this country has ever made... That is the power of hope: to imagine and then work for what seemed impossible before"

and :
"They said this day would never come. You have done what the cynics said couldn't be done."

"We are one nation and we are one people and our time for change has come. We are choosing hope over fear."

Obama Raising the ghosts of Martin Luther King & Robert Kennedy
His speeches are as inspired at times as were those of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. or those of Robert Kennedy .

Barack Obama: Iowa Caucus Victory Speech
"The time has come for change
The Time has come To end the Tyranny of oil. The Time has come to end the war in Iraq
In the face of impossible odds the people who love this country can change it .
This is the moment when it all began "

and here's a couple of bits on Clinton versus Obama:

Hilary Clinton: An Obama Presidency is a risk to what???

Once again Hilary does not answer the question .She allows her husband to say something controversial and negative about Obama and then acts as if it doesn't matter or is it that it does - anyway it is pure negative campaigning - She is using similar fear tactics as those used by the Bush administration and the Republicans . Somehow or other Obama will put America in more jeopardy if he were to become president.
And what does she stand for: to continue the War in Iraq , Afghanistan and go after Iran etc. She seems to favor torturing detainees but not as much as Bush or at other times she claims to be against torture.

Barack Obama Burns Hilary Clinton During Iowa Debate
and Hilary Clinton's negative campaign style.

If she listened to Obama or Edwards she would realize they both talk about how change is necessary and that it requires not just hope or demanding it but that it will also require hard work.

More negative campaigning by Hilary - her campaign manager who resigned after referring to Obama's admitted drug use in his youth- but in the end her strategy did not work in Iowa and hopefully will not work in New Hampshire-

And here's more of Hillary Clinton's double talk-MSNBC Debate, Oct 30, 2007

take care,
