Impeach Cheney Motion Defeated By The Status Quo

So what's gone wrong with democracy in America. Why wouldn't the Democrats vote for Impeachment !
Is the democratic process completely broken from the Senate & Congress to the judiciary to the executive branch -
Just another missed opportunity- are the Democrats too concerned about playing politics as if notions like justice are not as important as being re-elected or is it more nefarious than that are they more interested in having the same authoritarian style of government when they take the presidency or would a real debate on the issues involved shine too much of a light on the Democrats who supported the war & yet should have done their job & sifted through the intel Bush & Cheney helped to fabricate -
But then again if the judiciary is in such a mess why don't lawyers & bureaucrats stage protest like their counterparts are doing in Pakistan unarmed against a military quite capable and willing to kill them all if they believe it is necessary - Too bad US lawyers , civil servants , Bureaucrats don't have that passion for ensuring justice is done too afraid to rock the boat -

So here's a couple of videos on the attempt to impeach Cheney for a moment hope flickered then faded-
Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow discuss Dennis Kucinich's Dick Cheney impeachment motion on Countdown

Dennis Kucinich, the only presidential candidate who voted against the Iraq War resolution, introduced articles of impeachment against Vice President Richard B. Cheney in the House of Representatives on April 24th. House Resolution 333 was drafted as a response to a Vice President who was "a driving force for taking us into war against Iraq under false pretenses and is once again rattling sabers of war against Iran..."

Three articles were crafted by the 10th district Ohio Congressman and Democratic presidential candidate that allege that Cheney: "...purposely manipulated the intelligence process to deceive the citizens and Congress of the United States...," for attempting to mislead Americans "...about an alleged relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda...," and "has openly threatened aggression against the Republic of Iran."
