Evangelicals Snubbed at 9/11 Tenth Anniversay Memorial??? & Songs For 9/11 & America Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Bruce Sprinsteen

On the question of joining the 9/11 tenth memorial service sponsored by the federal government:

This event illustrates the divisions inside the Christian faith, and how much work needs to be done in terms of interfaith relations. Some wouldn't participate because they believe it wrong to mingle with people of other faiths.
This is religious snobbery at its worst when one considers that Jesus sat with prostitutes and the lowest of society, as well as people of other faiths.
Maybe, evangelicals weren't invited because they wouldn't have come anyway.

...In the end, on Sunday, there was an evangelical voice, albeit a mainline Protestant voice, at Ground Zero. President Barack Obama recited Psalm 46.
"DO YOU THINK ... all prayer, no matter who stands beside you, has equal merit? Or must you pray only with those who see God as you do?"

Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson on "The 700 Club," September 13, 2001

The Christian Evangelical response to 9/11 is exemplified by the words of Rev. Jerry Falwell & Pat Robertson etc.
They argue that the United States has turned away from God and so the 9/11 attacks were really the Christian God acting through human agency to remind Americans to turn back to God and to create a more Christianized America.
Jerry Falwell claim 9/11 was caused by gays, abortion, the ACLU, Planned parenthood ,Feminists, Progressives, liberals etc.robnyc1986

CNN's Christiane Amanpour has produced a new series of documentaries titled "God's Warriors" which "examines the intersection between religion and politics and the effects of Christianity, Islam and Judaism on politics, culture and public life."
In this preview, Amanpour talks with the late Rev. Jerry Falwell shortly before his passing, about his fight against abortion and confronts him on his disgusting claim that 9/11 was caused by America's tolerance of homosexuals. It also looks at other christian zealots who have bombed abortion clinics and murder doctors who perform them in the name of religion.

The failed promises of the leaders of America and their greedy Rich friends who promote inequality, injustice and perpetual war have been highlighted during the Bush/Cheney Regime and unfortunately this has bee extended into Obama's Regime..

Sadly even President Obama is a captive of these forces and of the same old boys mind-set
You gotta sell the Hope to sell the soap -AMWAY

Pete Seeger &Springsteen sing This land is Your Land at Obama's Inaugral -The hope Obama preached encouraged many to believe he would usher in an age of political, legal, social and economic justice for all.
His promises were no better than those of the so called "Compassionate Conservatives" of the Bush Regime.

On the one hand some evangelical leaders complain that they were not represented at the 9/11 tenth anniversary memorial on Sunday . But the service on sunday was an interfaith service of Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists etc. all of whom the Evangelicals would normally refuse to share an interfaith service with because they contend all other religions are false and are under the influence of Satanic forces. That is God does not hear the prayers of non-Christians or prayers by non-Evangelical Christians so why would they want to attend?,

...Others argue some evangelicals didn't join the lineup at the microphones because they don't want to blend in to the scene.
After all, these are denominations that assiduously avoid sharing worship services with religions that disagree on core doctrines or fail to expressly insist that salvation is only through Jesus.

and as for Franklin Graham son of Billy Graham he does not support interfaith dialogue

...As this 10th anniversary neared, he wrote in Charisma News about how the sacrifice of innocent lives on that tragic date and thousands of service men and women in the subsequent wars is nothing compared to the "the debt each and every person owes to the Lord Jesus Christ for dying for our sins."
There's no call in Graham's column for brotherhood, forgiveness, mercy or interfaith understanding -- the themes of the services at Catholic Masses and interfaith services in Washington and around the country. His focus is always the same:
"... Tell as many people as we can how they can be saved before it is eternally too late."
...In the end, on Sunday, there was an evangelical voice, albeit a mainline Protestant voice, at Ground Zero. President Barack Obama recited Psalm 46.
"DO YOU THINK ... all prayer, no matter who stands beside you, has equal merit? Or must you pray only with those who see God as you do?"
