Rick Perry For President & Christian Only Prayer Fest

"So Hitler himself was an active homosexual. And some people wonder, didn't the Germans, didn't the Nazis, persecute homosexuals? And it is true they did; they persecuted effeminate homosexuals. But Hitler recruited around him homosexuals to make up his Stormtroopers, they were his enforcers, they were his thugs. And Hitler discovered that he could not get straight soldiers to be savage and brutal and vicious enough to carry out his orders, but that homosexual soldiers basically had no limits and the savagery and brutality they were willing to inflict on whomever Hitler sent them after. So he surrounded himself, virtually all of the Stormtroopers, the Browshirts, were male homosexuals." Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association friend of Presidential candidates Governor Rick Perry & Michele Bachmann.

Remember when the GOP and right wing media attacked Obama for his associations so should all politicians be judged in the same way???
And why not -
Rick Perry the prayer President to be -
Yes,Another wingnut running for the presidency of the US. Are these Candidates running to head the Republican party followed by the presidency are they in some ways a reflection of a large section of its citizens.
Rick Perry & Michele Bachmann have a few things in common one of the more potentially disastrous for their campaigns is their connection to various extremist leaders in the Religious Right for example "Hitler was Gay" Bryan Fisher .
Fischer is obviously anti-gay
Fischer is an Islamophobe wanting more scrutiny of the Mosques in America
Rick Perry the governor of Texas has thrown his hat into the ring to run for the Presidency.
One of his policies when it comes to catastrophic natural events the government need not help the people affected. His suggestion is that Americans should pray more. Quite the platform.
Though it doesn't end there.
Perry is anti-Muslim a card carrying Islamophobe who wants more investigations on Muslim Americans he wants to stop Muslims from immigrating to America.
He has aligned himself with the religious Right.
So we can assume that he shares many of their values and their paranoid Conspiracy Theories such as the Gay Agenda" the evils of the Secular Humanists , Socialists, Communists, liberals etc.
The same people that Glen Beck raves on about in his rants or in his soft sale mode warning that there is a fifth column in the US known as "The progressives" which is anyone who isn't uberconservative .

Rick is hosting a prayer rally for Christians only and includes leaders of the Religious Right such as Bryan Fischer referred to below.

Tool Time: Rick Perry, Living on a Prayer? The Alyona Show

Uploaded by TheAlyonaShow on Jun 7, 2011
Rick Perry is expected to host "The Response: A call to prayer for a nation in crisis" an event scheduled to take play in August at Houston's Reliant Stadium. Perry is working with the group American Family Association to host the event and he's calling on all 49 other governors to join him. On the website he says the US is facing unprecedented struggles and we need to thank "HIM" for the blessings of freedom we so richly enjoy. So the group seriously thinks that financial debt, terrorism and natural disasters can just be prayed away, really?

Rick Perry's Christians-Only Prayerfest
— By Tim Murphy| MotherJOnes, Jun. 30, 2011

In early August, Texas Republican governor and possible presidential candidate Rick Perry will host a prayer summit at Reliant Stadium in Houston. The event, dubbed "The Response" and funded by the American Family Association (which was labeled a "hate group" by the Southern Poverty Law Center), is designed to combat the economic, political, and spiritual crises facing the United States by returning the nation to its Biblical roots. The Response's website proclaims, "There is hope for America. It lies in heaven, and we will find it on our knees." And in a video message Perry sent out this week, he noted, "I'm inviting you to join your fellow Americans for a day of prayer and fasting on behalf of our nation." Perhaps Perry should have clarified what sort of "fellow Americans" he meant, for at this event only Christians will be allowed to share the podium with Perry.

Since the event was first announced in early June, organizers have suggested that it would be a great opportunity to convert non-Christians. Now, they've gone even further: According to an email blasted out by The Response, only Christians will be permitted to speak at the non-denominational event. If representatives of other faiths (particularly Muslims) were to be included, the email noted, such inclusion would promote "idolatry." In a message sent out under The Response's official letterhead, Allan Parker, one of Perry's organizers, described the event in less-than-ecumenical terms:

This is an explicitly Christian event because we are going to be praying to the one true God through His son, Jesus Christ. It would be idolatry of the worst sort for Christians to gather and invite false gods like Allah and Buddha and their false prophets to be with us at that time. Because we have religious liberty in this country, they are free to have events and pray to Buddha and Allah on their own. But this is time of prayer to the One True God through His son, Jesus Christ, who is The Way, The Truth, and The Life.

With this prayerfest, Perry is associating himself with rather radical folks. The American Family Association's issues director, for instance, has said that gays are "Nazis" and that Muslims should be converted to Christianity. Another organizer, Doug Stringer, has said that 9/11 was God's punishment for the nation's creeping secularism. And then there's Jay Swallow, whose endorsement is trumpeted on The Response's website, and who runs "A Christian Military Training Camp for the purpose of dealing with the occult and territorial enemy strong holds in America" (his description). Consequently, it's not much of a mystery why only one of the nation's other 49 governors has so far accepted Perry's invitation to attend the event (Perry invited all of them)—arch-conservative Sam Brownback of Kansas.

Still, there may be a method to all this. In mid-2009, when it looked as if Perry's chances of winning a third term as governor of Texas were completely shot, he made a tactical decision: He'd shift even further to the right and become an unabashed tea party cheerleader. Empty threats of secession? Check. Anti-stimulus crusading? Check. Bragging to reporters about shooting a coyote while on his morning jog? Check. It worked: After trailing GOP Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison by 30 points, he easily won a three-way primary and cruised to reelection. Perry defied reports of his demise by anticipating the coming tea-party wave and hopping on his surf board.

Now Perry is running for president—maybe—and looks to be adopting a similar approach: swerve to the far right. The GOP field is already crowded with conservatives (real and pretend), and that includes several who do appeal or who are trying to appeal to the religious right, such as Representative Michele Bachmann and former Senator Rick Santorum. Should Perry saddle up and enter the race, he will be in direct competition with a rising-in-the-polls Bachmann for these voters. Hosting an only-Christians-speak rally—which is sure to draw media attention and be much noticed by, say, Iowa Republican caucus attendees—will certainly give Perry a prayer of chance of rustling social conservative voters from the Bachmann ranch.

Rick Perry to Host Hate Group-Funded Prayer Summit
— By Tim Murphy| MotherJones, Jun. 6, 2011

Texas Governor Rick Perry has a plan to bring down unemployment, pay off the national debt, stop natural disasters, and smoke the terrorists out of their spider holes: He's hosting a prayer summit. The possible GOP presidential candidate has invited the nation's other 49 governors to join him at Houston's Reliant Stadium in early August for "The Response," a day of non-denominational Christian prayer and fasting (the latter is recommended but non-compulsory). Per the official site:

As a nation, we must come together, call upon Jesus to guide us through unprecedented struggles, and thank Him for the blessings of freedom we so richly enjoy according to His grace, mercy, and kindness towards us. A historic crisis facing our nation and threatening our future demands a historic response from the church. We must, as a people, return to the faith and hope of our fathers. The ancient paths of great men were blazed in prayer – the humility of the truly great men of history was revealed in their recognition of the power and might of Jesus to save all who call on His great name.

"There is hope for America," the site explains. "It lies in heaven, and we will find it on our knees."

This shouldn't come as too much of a surprise from Perry, who just six weeks ago issued a proclamation calling on residents to pray for rain for 72 hours, in response to historic wildfires. It's also similar in nature to the Texas Restoration Project, his 2006 outreach effort to pastors like Rod Parsley, the Ohio evangelist who has said Islam must be destroyed. The Houston event is being funded by the American Family Association, a conservative Christian organization that's been classified as a "hate group" by the Southern Poverty Law Center for its incessant promotion of false, anti-gay propaganda.

The AFA's issues director, Bryan Fischer, has alleged that gays caused the Holocaust—and are planning on doing it again; that gays should be banned from holding public office; that homosexuality should be criminalized; that foreign Muslims should either be exterminated converted to Christianity or subjected to lethal force*; that American Muslims should be deported; that there should be a permanent ban on mosque construction in the United States; and that Muslims should be prohibited from serving in the armed forces.

This all sounds pretty extreme (and it is pretty extreme), but it's worth noting that Rick Perry believes some of that stuff too. He has repeatedly asserted, for instance, that Texas' homosexual conduct statute, which criminalized gay sex, was a good law that should not have overturned by the Supreme Court.

Rick Perry 's association with the religious right means well either he is sincere and possibly believes in the same things or he is merely using them to get the presidency As Reagan and Bush did as some suggest that President Obama has abandoned his Progressive Base because he does not really share their values. It is as it were just politics as usual.

" AFA's Fischer Outdoes Himself " By Kyle Mantyla's at Rightwing Watch Via People For The American Way , may 25, 2010

It was about a year ago that I wrote a seemingly throwaway post about the fact that Bryan Fischer had been promoted from his position running the Idaho Values Alliance, the state affiliate of the American Family Association, to a position as director of Issue Analysis for Government and Public Policy with the AFA itself and the host of a daily two-hour radio program for the organization.

Since then, Fischer has proven himself to be among the most radically right-wing figures within the contemporary Religious Right movement.

Just last week he declared on his radio program that "God is obviously looking for is more Phinehases in our day," approvingly citing a story from the Book of Numbers about a man who killed two people with a spear for engaging in sexual immorality.

But yesterday he managed to outdo himself once again, declaring that Adolf Hitler was gay and that he surrounded himself with gay soldiers because only gays were willing to be savage and brutal enough to carry out his agenda:

So he surrounded himself, virtually all of the Stormtroopers, the Browshirts, were male homosexuals."

I feel that I should point out that Fischer is listed as a "confirmed speaker" at the next Family Research Council Values Voter Summit as are, as of today, Rep. Michele Bachmann, Rep. Mike Pence, and Mike Huckabee.

Bryan Fischer Defends Deporting All Muslims In The US

Bryan Fischer in this interview with Thom Hartmann wants to limit the discussion to things he wants to talk about-
just sticking to his Talking Points.
He does not want to talk about being ousted from Germany by the government which  questioned his motives and for his hate Speech .
It seems he was running a church or his own church in Germany..
The government was suspicious about his motives and his radical religious and political views.
Were his views equivalent in some ways to that of the outlawed Neo-Nazis.
